Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the strategies used by leaders in tertiary institutions, especially at the faculty level, in improving the quality of education. This research is a survey conducted to identify the views of each respondent in assessing the quality of education in tertiary institutions by looking at the strategies used by the leaders of the Respondents in this study, namely the academic community at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Musamus University. The measuring tool designed in the form of a questionnaire related to the seven categories in Malcolm Baldrige. The questionnaire created was an adaptation of the original MBCfPE Education Criteria application. Questions that were originally in the form of essays were changed to form of choice answers to make it easier for respondents to answer and direct them to the basic needs of each category. The results of the study show that the strategies used by leaders in improving the quality of education are carried out by establishing a clear vision and mission, building a solid team, and implementing an appropriate performance measurement system. Effective leadership in tertiary institutions must have a clear vision and mission to motivate staff and students, and direct universities to achieve long-term strategic goals.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant effect of online learning perceptions on the learning outcomes of students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP UMMY Solok. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a correlational research method. The population in this study were students of the UMMY mathematics education study program in the 2021/2022 academic year. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques in quantitative research use statistics with SPSS 21.0. The results of the study obtained a simple linear regression equation of the effect of perceptions of online learning on learning outcomes, namely Y = 64.814 + 0.264 X. The results of the Fhitung test = 2.296 with a significance level of 0.144> 0.05 so it can be concluded that student perceptions of online learning do not significantly affect learning outcomes. The result of the coefficient of determination (KD) = 9.5% means that the perception of Mathematics Education study program students contributes to learning outcomes by 9.5%. So it can be concluded that the perception of online learning does not significantly affect the learning outcomes of students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, FKIP UMMY Solok.

Abstract

Abstract Education has a close relationship with the teaching and learning process and school is the place where learning takes place. In the learning process, the main elements that must exist are teachers and students. For the elementary school level, the teacher is the main source of learning, although in practice the role of the teacher can be replaced by using instructional media. Thus, in the latest educational curriculum implemented in Indonesia, teachers can also be referred to as facilitators in learning. The purpose of this study is to analyze the importance of the role of education in developing character 5.0. The method used is qualitative. The results obtained are that the role of education in developing character 5.0 is very important. The role of education in character development 5.0 can be carried out with the synergy of informal, non-formal and formal education which are interrelated with one another. Provision of good education which is based on national education goals will create character education that is independent, intelligent, moderate, and has a religious spirit

Abstract

The important management of Islamic boarding schools is very helpful in achieving educational goals in Islamic boarding schools. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the managerial abilities of Kyai in the process of managing Islamic boarding schools. This study uses a qualitative method with a "phenomenological naturalistic" approach adopted by Bogdan and Biklen (1982). This approach operationally places the researcher as the main instrument that visits data sources directly. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data is presented in the descriptive form and analyzed through inductive analysis by revealing the meaning of the observed conditions. The results of this study are based on findings in the field and references from existing theories, so almost 100% of the concepts that have been carried out by the Kyai in the process of managing Islamic boarding schools are almost the same as the existing theory, only a complete adjustment of existing management concepts and theories is needed. and is currently developing, and primarily must be supported by all components of education in Islamic boarding schools. The researcher recommends to all parties related to the world of education in general, especially education in Islamic boarding schools to be able to add insight into the concept of management in depth, especially regarding the concept of managerial ability in educational institutions/Islamic boarding schools, because management that is directed and systematically structured in the management process can help achieve goals

Abstract

Learning media is one of the intermediaries used to convey messages from the teacher to students. In the world of education, learning media are known as intermediaries that are used to convey messages so that students understand the material delivered by the teacher to students so that the learning objectives are achieved. The function of the media was originally only known as a tool in teaching and learning activities that is providing visual experience in order to encourage learning motivation, clarify and facilitate complex concepts. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of mathematics learning media using the Powtoon application, by looking at student learning outcomes Between classes that use learning media using powtoon applications with classes that do not use learning media using the powtoon application. The type of research used is Research & Development, data collection techniques in this study are primary data, namely data obtained from student learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique used in this study is a quantitative technique. Based on the results of the analysis shows that the learning media developed has been effectively seen from the learning outcomes of students to increase after the use of learning media using Powtoon applications.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education is inseparable from the support and cooperation of madrasahs with all elements of stakeholders, including the madrasah committee. This research intends to examine the Madrasah Committee’s role in improving the quality of Islamic Education. Researchers used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data collection focused on the results of scientific research on the role of madrasah committees in improving the quality of education published from 2010-2022. Three Research Questions were determined in this study with the final results: (RQ 1) the low quality of education, the lack of infrastructure, and the low quality of human resources in the management of madrasas are the underlying reasons for optimizing the role of the madrasah committee. (RQ 2) the role of the madrasah committee is still not optimal. This is caused by the lack of awareness of the principal and stakeholders of the importance of committees, so they are not empowered. (RQ 3) the madrasa committee plays a role in providing consideration, support, supervision, and mediator between madrasas and the community in a joint effort to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Scholarships are a work program that exists in every college and school. The scholarship program is held to ease the burden on students in taking their studies. STKIP Pesisir Selatan is one example of a university that has many scholarship programs to be distributed to every student and student who is financially underprivileged but has the determination to continue their education and excel during their schooling. The purpose of this research is to process the automatic selection of scholarship recipients using a system through a decision support system combined with the Weigted Product method so that prospective scholarship recipients can be directly determined and will make it easier for universities to determine which prospective students will be selected. Of the 5 samples used, the 3 highest scores obtained with percentages of 0.27 (Meri Anjeli), 0.27 (Ririn Dwi Putri), 0.23 (Fauzia Ramanda) which will be used as guidelines in making decisions on the selection of scholarship recipients.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the performance of teachers in improving the quality of madrasa education. The research method used is the library research method by collecting data and information from references and literature. The results of this study indicate that teachers are one of the main factors influencing the quality of education in madrasas. The quality of education is influenced by the performance of teachers. Teacher performance is the ability of teachers to carry out their main tasks, namely: designing learning program plans, implementing learning activity programs and evaluating learning. In order for teacher performance to be maintained and always increase, teacher performance assessment is also necessary. The higher the teacher's performance, the higher the quality of education in the madrasa.

Abstract

The effective school is not a new topic in the education context globally. However, in the context of Indonesian education, this seems neglected. To create an effective school is the responsibility of the principal; therefore, it is very important to uderstand how the school principal can create an effective school. This study aims to investigate what efforts need to be conducted by the school principal in order to create an effective school. Based on the result of study, there are ten important efforts that need performed by school principal to create effective school, namely: (1)creating vision, mission and goals, (2)making school policies, (3)implementing leadership, (4)conducting crisis management, (5)developing, monitoring, and evaluating curriculum and learning, (6)increasing the professionalism of educators and administrators, (7)managing finances, (8)creating a conducive culture, (9)involving education stakeholders, and (10)optimizing the utilization of technology and information.
