Abstract

This research aims to analyze the management of Islamic education transformation thru the integration of spiritual values and technology in the management of educational institutions. The phenomenon under study focuses on the challenges of digitalization that could potentially weaken spiritual values, as well as the institution's efforts to balance technological efficiency with spiritual development. This research approach uses a multi-case qualitative method, with the research subjects consisting of school principals, teachers, and educational staff at two Madrasah Aliyah in Banyuwangi. Data was collected thru in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The research findings indicate that the integration of spirituality and technology is realized thru trust-based value management, ethics-oriented digital training, and the strengthening of a spiritual work culture. This research concludes that digital transformation based on faith and morals is capable of strengthening the professionalism and institutional character of Islamic education.

Abstract

Objective: The rapid development of digital technology requires rural schools not only to adapt to digital media but also to strengthen their institutional identity and competitiveness. This article aims to analyze and formulate the Digital Spirit approach as a digital empowerment model for strengthening rural school branding. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, examining relevant studies on digital literacy, educational branding, and school community empowerment. The findings indicate that the Digital Spirit approach emphasizes the integration of digital literacy development among school members, community participation, and the strategic use of digital media as a means of communicating school values and identity. This model promotes not only technical digital readiness but also the construction of an adaptive, participatory, and competitive image of rural schools. The study contributes a conceptual model for rural school branding based on digital empowerment that can be adapted by educational institutions in similar contexts.

Abstract

One approach strategy that can be developed is the Synergy of Quranic Traces, namely a strategy that places the values of the Quran as the foundation of school culture and educational management, while also being realized in real actions through religious habits, integration of values in learning, exemplary behavior of educators, and social involvement. This study proposes Sinergi Qurani Berjejak as a value-based branding strategy for Islamic integrated schools by bridging the divide between internal Qur’anic value internalization and institutional branding practices. Using a qualitative library research approach with content analysis of recent literature on Islamic education management and value-based branding, the study finds that embedding Qur’anic values as the core of school culture through cross-curricular learning, teacher role modeling, and sustained community engagement strengthens institutional identity, builds public trust, and increases parental interest. The integration of spiritual cultivation, dakwah, and social contribution enhances the competitiveness of Islamic schools in the digital era. This study formulates a concise conceptual framework that positions Qur’anic values not only as moral foundations of education but also as strategic assets for sustainable, value-based school branding with measurable social impact.

Abstract

Digital transformation demands that Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) adopt Education Management Information Systems (EMIS) to strengthen governance. However, literature on this topic remains scattered and has not been systematically synthesized. This study aims to identify the role of EMIS in improving the management quality of pesantren and to map key themes, benefits, challenges, and future research agendas. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA protocol, data were collected from Google Scholar, SINTA, and Scopus (2020–2025). From 118 initial articles, 11 relevant studies were selected for analysis through thematic synthesis. The results reveal seven primary themes regarding the role of EMIS: (1) educational administration management, (2) learning and infrastructure management, (3) financial and funding management, (4) student recruitment management, (5) technology-based service innovation, (6) information system policy and implementation, and (7) stakeholder acceptance and usage of EMIS. This synthesis demonstrates that EMIS significantly enhances efficiency, transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making. Nevertheless, implementation is still hindered by constraints in human resource competence, infrastructure, and cultural resistance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Principal Leadership, Organizational Culture, and Work Motivation on Senior High School Teachers’ Performance in Palmerah District, West Jakarta. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of all senior high school teachers in Palmerah District, with a sample of 126 teachers selected through proportional sampling techniques. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques, including classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination (R²). The results indicate that Principal Leadership, Organizational Culture, and Work Motivation each have a positive and significant effect on Teachers’ Performance. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence teachers’ performance, with an R Square value of 0.653, indicating that 65.3% of the variation in teachers’ performance can be explained by principal leadership, organizational culture, and work motivation, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors outside the research model. These findings suggest that improving teachers’ performance requires a comprehensive and integrated approach by strengthening principal leadership, fostering a supportive organizational culture, and enhancing teachers’ work motivation in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Flood Disaster-Safe School Program (SPAB) at SMP Negeri 1 Dayeuhkolot, focusing on the aspects of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC), infrastructure readiness, students’ life skills development, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and students. The findings indicate that the implementation of the flood disaster-safe school policy has been carried out fairly well and systematically. The school has developed flood contingency plans, established a disaster preparedness team, conducted evacuation drills, and integrated disaster mitigation into the learning process. The program has positively contributed to improving school community preparedness and enhancing students’ life skills, such as cooperation, independence, and adaptability. However, the implementation still faces challenges, including limited infrastructure, budget constraints, insufficient teacher training, and suboptimal evaluation mechanisms. Overall, the SPAB policy plays an important role in fostering a culture of disaster preparedness and strengthening school resilience.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of strategic management and learning creativity on learning innovation, while evaluating the moderating role of self-efficacy within Islamic higher education institutions. Employing a quantitative survey method involving 166 students and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the results demonstrate that strategic management, learning creativity, and self-efficacy significantly affect learning innovation directly. However, the analysis reveals that self-efficacy does not strengthen the relationship between learning creativity and learning innovation. Conversely, self-efficacy acts as a negative moderator in the relationship between strategic management and innovation. These findings suggest that learning innovation is predominantly driven by institutional strategies, creative competencies, and self-confidence as direct predictors. Furthermore, the negative moderation implies a substitution effect, where high self-efficacy may diminish the reliance on strategic management frameworks to drive innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and formulate the concept of Branding OMS (Social Media Optimization) as a strategy for strengthening character values, academic and non-academic achievements, and school identity at MAN 2 Klaten. The research focuses on developing a strong, credible, and sustainable digital identity that enables the madrasah to be easily recognized, remembered, and trusted by the public through systematic and consistent social media management. This study employed a qualitative approach using library research. Data were collected from relevant literature, including books and scholarly journal articles on school branding, character education, and digital communication, as well as institutional documents such as brand audit results and SWOT analysis of MAN 2 Klaten. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that Branding OMS functions as a strategic instrument in representing Islamic character, discipline, and a culture of achievement through visual consistency, digital storytelling, and structured publication of achievements. Social media optimization is not merely a promotional tool but also serves as a medium for internalizing character values and strengthening school reputation.

Abstract

Islamic educational institution managers must be able to plan, organize, direct, and control funds effectively. In reality, many Islamic educational institutions still face challenges in managing their finances professionally. Financial management is a crucial aspect of the sustainability of Islamic educational institutions. This article discusses the managerial challenges faced in managing sources and types of financing in these institutions. Limited funding, which depends on internal sources such as community donations, zakat, infaq, and waqf, is a major obstacle to the development of quality education. Additionally, the lack of financial management capacity and strategic planning further complicates the process of allocating and utilizing funds effectively. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with literature review as the primary method. The findings indicate that strengthening managerial competencies, diversifying funding sources, and ensuring transparency in financial management are key to addressing these challenges. Therefore, collaboration between institutional leaders, the government, and the community is necessary to create a sustainable and accountable funding system to support the quality and existence of Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study develops an innovative performance-based education cost planning model that links spending efficiency, traceable unit costs, and the achievement of educational performance indicators. A library research design was applied through a systematic literature review and qualitative content analysis of studies on performance-based budgeting, performance information quality, standard costs, education fund accountability, and costing methods such as activity-based costing. The synthesis indicates recurring constraints in public-sector budgeting, including education: weak traceability between expenditures and outputs/outcomes, a growing number of performance indicators with low renewal rates, and predominantly input-based standard costs that may not reflect output-based needs. At the institutional level, budgeting difficulties intensify when one activity contributes to multiple indicators, complicating cost attribution to performance targets and potentially weakening efficiency assessment. This study proposes an innovation comprising a Cost–Performance Matrix and a Unit-Cost Performance Dashboard, integrating activity–output–outcome mapping, activity-based unit cost calculation, and standard-cost benchmarking to enhance budget decision quality.
