Abstract

The selection of the best practicum assistants is traditionally done through a conventional method, which involves voting by active students attending lab classes. However, upon evaluation, it was found that the results were not accurate. Some cases revealed that assistants were chosen based solely on popularity or recognition among the students, possibly influenced by physical appearance or public speaking skills in front of the class, while other important aspects were not considered. This situation could lead to social jealousy. The problem lies in the difficulty of combining evaluation criteria and determining the relative weights for each criterion in the process of selecting the best practicum assistants at the college. Additionally, there is a lack of objectivity in decision-making during the selection process, resulting in an unstructured and immature decision-making process. Therefore, this research aims to enhance the process of selecting the best practicum assistants at the college through optimizing the profile matching algorithm using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. AHP's role involves checking the weights and making paired comparisons to evaluate each criterion and determine the criterion weights. AHP is also utilized to ensure consistency in determining the weights. On the other hand, the role of profile matching is to provide accurate rankings or comparisons based on the suitability scores between the profiles of potential assistants and the reference profile. The combination of these two algorithms is expected to result in a more accurate selection of practicum assistants by effectively measuring the decision criteria weights. Therefore, the difficulty of combining evaluation criteria and determining the relative weights for each criterion can be minimized. Furthermore, optimizing the profile matching algorithm will enable a more objective decision-making process for selecting the best practicum assistants through more accurate rankings or comparisons based on the suitability scores with the reference profile. Based on this optimization, the collaboration of the two algorithms can achieve comparison results with an accuracy rate of 90%.

Abstract

With the increasing spread of nighttime images and their importance in human lives, and the development of computer vision, producing images with the highest possible quality is paramount. Nighttime images have been improved over the past decades by introducing many methods, each of which uses different techniques to enhance the quality of such images that have many degradations, such as poor illumination, uneven lighting, low contrast, widespread noise, and unnatural colors. This paper reviews twelve modern-day algorithms that can be used to enhance nighttime images by presenting the concepts, work mechanisms, processing abilities, and performance evaluations for each algorithm. Likewise, these algorithms are evaluated using three metrics with their processing times, and the advantages and disadvantages of each algorithm are given. Such a review can help researchers understand which concepts to select for development, which drawbacks to avoid when developing an algorithm in this field, and what the currently available concepts are.

Abstract

Since the Covid-19 outbreak hit Indonesia, all community activities have become very limited. The government's decision regarding PPKM to reduce the level of Covid-19 cases forced the community to reduce the level of activities outside the home including work. One activity that has recently been popular with the public is watching movies through the online streaming service available on the Google Play Store. Applications with high total downloads and ratings show people's interest in the application. The WeTV online streaming service is an application that has high downloads and ratings on the Google Play Store. This service provides various types of content from various countries. However, the WeTV application also has drawbacks that can be seen in the reviews from users. Based on this, research was conducted on the classification of positive and negative sentiments from WeTV application users. There are two classification algorithms implemented, namely Naïve Bayes Classifier (NBC) and Support Vector Machine (SVM). Apart from classifying positive and negative reviews, this sentiment analysis also aims to compare the performance of the two algorithms. The total data used is 100 data. After conducting sentiment analysis, it was concluded that the SVM classification method was the best classification method in this study with 80.00% accuracy, 80.00% precision, and 80.00% recall.

Abstract

Driving at high speed and recklessly is the main cause of traffic accidents. In several places speed bumps are installed as a medium to warn drivers to slow down the speed of the vehicle, but the installation of speed bumps in several places has become a problem in itself with inconvenience for drivers traveling at low speeds, so it is necessary to develop an intelligent system to warn drivers when speeding. vehicles break safety boundaries, making drivers safer and more comfortable. At the vehicle identification stage, a combination of the Adaptive Background Subtraction method with the Haar Cascade Classifier is proposed, and vehicle speed estimation is carried out by calculating the time difference in the detection area or Region of Interest (ROI). Testing was carried out using traffic videos with three conditions, namely day, evening and night, with each condition using the same object data, namely 55 images of car objects. The proposed method produces car detection accuracy with an average of 85% and MSE 0.5 in vehicle speed measurements.
