Abstract

The Pandemic of COVID-19 affected not only the health sector but also other sectors. Herd immunity through vaccination was recommended by experts. This study purposed to describe the acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine and to discover predictive factors of COVID-19 vaccine acceptance in Indonesia. This is a cross-sectional study. Data collection used an online platform conducted in August 2020. The questionnaire based on Survey Tool and Guidance by WHO Regional Office for Europe. Logistic regression was run to identify associated factors and to build a predictive model of vaccine acceptance. There were 164 respondents aged 19 – 56 years. About 70.1 percent of respondents showed a willingness to accept the vaccine for COVID-19. The predictive model consisted of age, perceived probability that has been infected and trust in government press releases with performance reaching 73 percent.  The trust of people in the government was the most important key to engaging people in vaccination. Evidence-based messaging delivered regularly by the government and consistent action between the government and health officers would educate and lead people's risk perceived and the decision to be vaccinated.

Abstract

One of the goals of the Antenatal Care (ANC) program is to identify abnormalities or complications early that may occur during pregnancy. The quality of antenatal care contributes to better outcomes for pregnant women. Meanwhile, at the Dinoyo Health Center, the coverage of antenatal care visits showed a decreased trend. Furthermore, the quality of ten antenatal care services (10T) was still unknown. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of ten antenatal care services (10T) at the Dinoyo Health Center. This descriptive qualitative study was conducted at the Dinoyo Health Center on April 2022. Data were obtained from ten informants that were purposively selected and also from secondary data. Data analysis was carried out using the Discrepancy Evaluation Model (DEM) approach. The data triangulation process was also done. This study found that one of ten antenatal care services (10T) did not meet the standard. It was a counseling session.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of cigarette users in the younger generation is clear evidence that cigarettes are increasingly popular, especially e-cigarettes. Misinformation and misperceptions circulating in the community as well as the role of the media add to concerns about the impact that e-cigarettes can have. Therefore, a transformation of health promotion efforts to save future generations from the dangers of e-cigarettes is needed. This study aimed to analyze the effect of health promotion media in reducing the willingness to smoke e-cigarettes in adolescents. This study used a quantitative analytic design with primary data. The instrument used was a questionnaire which was filled out independently by the respondents. Data collection was carried out online using a small group trial. Data analysis was using Mc Nemar test. The bivariate analysis showed that the three challenges had an impact in the form of increasing knowledge and perceptions. On the knowledge variable, the whole challenge gave a significant increase with the results of sig. 0.025 on the challenge of providing visual media socialization, sig. 0.014 on the challenge of providing audio-visual media socialization, and sig. 0.008 on the active participation challenge. Adolescent perceptions also increased before and after a series of challenges was given. The provision of health promotion with these three challenges had a significant difference of sig. 0.031 on adolescent perceptions. There were differences in adolescent knowledge and perceptions of e-smoking behavior through the using of health promotion media. The most effective method used in changing the knowledge and perceptions of adolescents is to use the active participation of adolescents.

Abstract

Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium concentration in liquid organic fertilizer can be obtained from organic materials. Liquid organic fertilizer can be made from vegetable waste, charcoal, and gold snail (Pomacea canaliculata L.). This study aimed to know the concentration of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in liquid organic fertilizers of waste vegetable, charcoal and snail. Methods used to test nitrogen was the Kjeldahl method, while potassium and phosphorus tested with spectrophotometer. The results showed that the concentration of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in liquid organic fertilizers of waste vegetable, charcoal and snail were 0,2612 percent; 0,0334 percent; and 0,1421 percent. This concentration didn’t meet the standard of liquid organic fertilizers quality based on MOA No. 70 of 2010 which is 3 until 6 percent.

Abstract

Postpartum hemorrhage is the leading cause of maternal death worldwide with an incidence of 5 – 10 percent of all deliveries. Data shows a downward trend in maternal mortality in Indonesia in 1991 from 390 to 230 in 2020 per 100,000 live births. Maternal mortality is an important concern because being one of the indicators of health status and the success of health development, the reduction in maternal mortality rate is also a target in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the SDGs, the target of reducing the maternal mortality rate is 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030. The preliminary study found cases of postpartum hemorrhage with risk age less than 20 years as many as 90 people (6.2 percent), bleeding with age more than 35 years as many as 40 people (2.7 percent). The purpose of this study was to conduct a literature study on the relationship between maternal age and postpartum hemorrhage. This study used 13 national journals obtained through Google scholar and Garuda (Digital Referral Guard). Based on the results of the study, 10 journals stated that there was a significant relationship between maternal age and postpartum hemorrhage, while 3 other journals showed that there was no significant relationship between maternal age and postpartum hemorrhage.

Abstract

Children under five years old is the age group most vulnerable to several health problems. It is important to evaluate the impact of infancy condition on their physical growth.  This research aimed to examine the impact of infancy condition on the physical growth of children under-five years old. The unmatched case-control study was conducted in Puskesmas Griya Antapani areas, Bandung from May to July, 2023. A total of 112 children aged under 5 years were included in this study (56 cases and 56 control). The analysis used multivariate logistic regression to determine adjusted odds ratios (OR). The results showed that the variables associated with the children growth are infection or illness in infancy (OR is 0,138 95 percent CI 0,51 until 0,375), feeding patterns in infancy (OR is 11,000 95 percent CI 4,566 until 26,503), birth weight (OR is 0,170 95 percent CI 0,036 until 0,818) and economic status (OR is 0,062 95 percent CI 0,14 until 0,280). Multivariate logistic regression showed that economic status was the most dominant factor for children physical growth (OR is 6.701 95 percent CI 1,323 until 33,944). Education for families is needed in choosing food that is rich in nutrition and economical by utilizing alternative sources of protein, the amount of food, and the schedule of meals according to the needs of children according to their age.

Abstract

According to the results of the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) in 2021, there has been a considerable increase in the number of adult smokers over the past ten years, rising from 60.3 million in 2011 to 69.1 million in 2021, an increase of 8.8 million individuals. This study aims to compare the quality of life between actively smoking students and those who are exposed to passive smoking, examining their physical, psychological, social, and environmental health effects. The study utilized a sample of 100 respondents who completed a questionnaire on cigarette use and the WHOQOL quality of life assessment, covering variables such as cigarette type, disruption in daily activities, desire to quit smoking, cigarette consumption, and attitudes towards smoking bans in public places. Calculation of the WHOQOL score revealed that 60 percent of non-smoking student respondents reported a good quality of life. These findings underscore the critical need for enhanced health awareness programs and stricter smoking regulations within the university to foster a healthier environment. The study's insights highlight the importance of developing targeted interventions and policies to reduce smoking rates among students to enhance their overall quality of life.According to the results of the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) in 2021, there has been a considerable increase in the number of adult smokers over the past ten years, rising from 60.3 million in 2011 to 69.1 million in 2021, an increase of 8.8 million individuals.
