Abstract

Students with intellectual disability have obstacles in motoric maturity. Finger painting is used to prepare motoric maturity for beginning writing. This research describe: (1) pre-intervention of writing skill, (2) beginning writing skills after intervention, (3) effect of finger. Experimental research with Wilcoxon test. The result is that there is effect of finger painting. The calculation is obtained by Tcount= 0, α= 0,05, n=6, Ttable= 2. Ho is rejected and Hi is accepted because Tcount (0) ≤ Ttable. (4) The conclusion is that the average value of pre-test is 39 and the average post-test is 73. Thus, there are effect of finger painting towards the ability of the beginning writing of the students with intellectual disability.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of Learning by Doing methods in the field of horticultural skills to improve the ability of calculating summation for students with intellectual disability. The experimental research method is used with the design of the one group pretest-posttest. The data were analyzed with the Wilcoxon of the Signed Rank Test. The results showed that the Learning by Doing method in the field of horticultural skills had an effect on the increase in the ability of calculating summation for students with intellectual disability.

Abstract

This study is aimed at examining the inquiry method usage on the academic achievement of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Inclusive Schools. The method used is a quasi-experiment with the design of one group pretest and posttest. The subjects were 4th grade students of Inclusive Elementary Schools. The results of the study prove that the inquiry method can help the academic achievement of ADHD children in inclusive primary schools. This is indicated by a change in scores on academic ability by 90%. During the inquiry method usage, ADHD children are not only able to understand the learning material delivered in the classroom but also show a high enthusiasm, active, and serious attitude in participating the learning process in Inclusive Primary Schools.

Abstract

Effectiveness of the Horticulture Cultivation Handbook to Improve Vocational Skills of Hearing Impairment Children at SMALB. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of horticulture cultivation guidebooks to improve vocational skills of hearing impairment children. This research design uses development research. Data were analyzed by the design of one group pretest and posttest, and descriptive. The results showed that the horticulture cultivation manual was effective for improving vocational skills of hearing impairment children.

Abstract

Implementation of learning with the theme of animals around me has a problem that is hearing impairment students in class IV do not understand what the names and concepts of animals in the environment, so that, in daily life, the students can not interact with the surrounding environment properly. As a result, the learning outcomes is low. Therefore, it needs an innovative and creative learning. The purpose of this study is to produce a multimedia animation based learning prototype of Bahasa Indonesia materials with the theme of animal around me for hearing impairment students. This research development using the Borg and Gall (2007) development model was carried out in 9 stages due to limited time and cost, namely: (1) identification (2) analysis (3) analyzing problems (4) research objectives (5) instrument assessment (6) strategy (7) developing teaching materials (8) Selecting themes (9) Expert validation. Data collection used questionnaires, pretest and posttest. The results of data collection techniques is the feasibility of teaching materials based on multimedia learning animation for hearing impairment students. The results of the Z sign test analysis showed that 2.202 were greater than the critical value α = 5%, namely 1.96, it could be analyzed that there was effectiveness in terms of the level of mastery of bahasa Indonesia teaching materials with the themes of animal around me based on multimedia animation learning in SDLB Negeri Tompokersan Lumajang.

Abstract

Children with Down syndrome have intellectual delay in their coginitive development. One of the characteristics is the low ability of self-development. The aim of this research is to describe the effect of the TEACCH method towards the ability of self-help on wearing clothes for down syndrome students. The research was arranged based on the Single Subject Research (SSR) experimental method with the A-B-A design. The conclusion of this research is that the intervention using the TEACCH method can establish the ability to wear clothes of Down syndrome students.

Abstract

Barriers in the cognitive processes stages make intellectual disability students have problems in reading comprehension. Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) which demands student activity during the learning process can be a solution to overcome the problem of the students’ reading understanding. The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of the DRTA usage towards the reading comprehension ability of intellectual disability students in SDLB. The method used is a quasi experiment with times series design. The results showed a significant increase (comparing mean pre-test = 69.4 and post-test value = 87), while significance value (2-tailed) was less than α. In conclusion, the use of DRTA has an effect on the reading comprehension of the intellectual disability students in SDLB.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to determine the effect of quartet card games towards the numeracy ability of adding 1-10 for intellectual disability students in the grade III SDLB. This study used an experimental research model pre-post design. The conclusion of this quasi-time-series experimental method is that the quartet card game can improve the numeracy ability of adding 1-10 for students with intellectual disability in the grade III SDLB.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of collaboration between regular teachers and special class teachers in the Learning Process of children with special needs in inclusive schools. During collaboration, regular teachers develop their competencies and learn from their peers how to apply the knowledge gained in practice. Collaborative teaching provides opportunities for pedagogy to share their knowledge, skills and experiences. While for students is an opportunity to get more diverse support and education. Collaborative systems can also facilitate the tasks of teachers in. The implementation of collaboration systems in inclusive schools on teacher learning processes is very important and has implemented a collaboration system in the Co-Teaching model with one teaching, one assist with the inclusive classroom system used is a pull out system.
