Abstract

Students’ learning activeness is the most crucial element as its impact on educational success while implementing project-based learning seems relevant in economics learning. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the impact of the project-based learning model on students learning activeness. This study involved classroom action research which conducted at senior high school 5 Palembang in Indonesia. To gather the data, this present study incorporated observation sheets, which were further analyzed using MILES procedures, which consist of planning, action, observation, and reflection, respectively. The finding of this study indicates that the students learning activeness in the pre-cycle were in a low category (49%), and it reached 56% in the first cycle to reach 56% and 68% in the second cycle. Compared to the third cycle, it experienced a dramatic change to reach 80% or a high category. Therefore, there is a need for teachers and schools to make innovations and variations in the classroom teaching-learning process to enhance activeness and meaningful learning.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an adaptive MOOC ecosystem in universities. This study involved development research using the 4-D model, which consists of defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The results indicate that in developing a MOOC ecosystem, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth analysis of users to find out what structures are needed. The context of MOOCs by companies is undoubtedly different from that of universities. As an educational institution, its stakeholders involve university leaders and researchers from lecturers. In the initial design, it is necessary to test user characteristics so that the MOOC system can make decisions on learning recommendations. We involved metacognitive testing and categorize so that users can learn to the fullest. In its application, validity tests were performed on experts to assess the product from development and on users. The test results showed excellent results. This ecosystem has also been disseminated to users and received a very good response. Moreover, several universities in Indonesia have the status of PTN-BH, which demands financial independence, so MOOC can be one of the breakthroughs to acquire income generation. Keywords: adaptive MOOC, MOOC ecosystem, higher education

Abstract

Collaboration and communication skills are needed for students during economics learning. Therefore, this study aims to analyze collaboration and communication skills in problem-based learning in the basic competencies of taxation. The research method used quantitative descriptive research to deal with the research purposes. The results of this research showed that the overall average indicator of students’ collaboration skills was in sufficient category, and the overall average indicator of students’ communication skills was in the high category. In addition, students’ response to learning economics using problem-based learning is good. Almost all students can understand the material in the teaching and learning activities in the basic tax competencies, especially within groups. The recommendation in this study is that teachers need to improve their ability to form creative and innovative learning in problem-based learning. Another recommendation when designing the learning, the suitable learning model is needed to encourage student collaboration and communication.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate an internship programme for preservice teachers. The program evaluation model uses the Kirkpatrick Model which consists of four levels: reaction, learning, behaviour, and outcome. This model is suitable for evaluating internship programmes in reviewing the development of preservice teachers from the initial level to the completion of the internship programme targets. This study involved prospective teachers (n=205) in Economics and Business at the Universitas Negeri Medan. Data were collected online using a Google Forms questionnaire over two months in 2022. Data analysis used quantitative description to explore the programme achievements at each level in depth. The findings showed that the mean of reaction (5.05), learning (5.20), behaviour (4.96), and outcome (5.03) were above the ideal mean of 3.50. Internship programme participants have met the average achievement target of Kirkpatrick's four-level model, where learning evaluation is more meaningful for student teachers when participating in the internship programme compared to other levels. Overall, with this research, it is hoped that internship programme managers can design more targeted and measurable programmes to improve the experience of prospective teachers.  Keywords: internship program, preservice teacher, evaluation, Kirkpatrick four-level

Abstract

Unemployment is a major problem for developing countries, including Indonesia. Various efforts continue to be made, one of which is by fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among adolescents, especially high school students. The study is a quantitative study that aims to examine the effect of entrepreneurial literacy and family environment on entrepreneurial interest and examine the mediating role of entrepreneurial motivation. This study used primary data from a sample of 206 high school students with a purposive sampling technique. The data were collected by distributing questionnaires through Google Forms. Using SEM-PLS analysis techniques, the results show that there is a positive and significant influence between entrepreneurial literacy and family environment on entrepreneurial interest among high school students. In addition, entrepreneurial motivation can mediate the relationship between entrepreneurial literacy and family environment on students' entrepreneurial interest. The implications of this study can be used to develop more effective entrepreneurship programs in high schools, as well as increase the role of families in supporting the development of students' entrepreneurial interests. Keywords: entrepreneurial literacy, family environment, entrepreneurial interest, entrepreneurial motivation

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the future of economic education and identify the trends and implications for policy and practice. This study adopted bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer software. The findings indicate that there has been a substantial movement over the last two decades regarding the theme of economic education. The top three countries—United States, Germany, and Indonesia contribute to this theme, whilst Universitas Negeri Malang, the University of Nebraska, and the University of Richmond are the three highest organizations that contributed to this scope during this period. The visualization from VOSviewer illustrates that the theme of economic education is linked with various dimensions. The frequency occurrence of this theme is often associated with financial literacy, pedagogy, pluralism, higher education, active learning, financial education, home economics education, teaching economics, economic literacy, heterodox economics, and entrepreneurship. The findings provide implications for concerning studies in this theme with a focus in shaping graduate students.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of financial literacy and digital entrepreneurial intentions, as well as investigate the mediating role of entrepreneurship education and the moderating role of social media. This research used primary data obtained from 154 students in Jakarta of Indonesia, through a self-administered survey with online questionnaires. The retrieved data were further analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) with Smart-PLS 4.0. The research results indicate that there is a positive and significant influence of financial literacy and entrepreneurship education on digital entrepreneurial intentions among students. In addition, entrepreneurship education has been confirmed to mediate the linkage between financial literacy and digital entrepreneurial intentions. Meanwhile, social media failed in mediating the influence of financial literacy and entrepreneurship education on digital entrepreneurial intentions. This proves that digital literacy is essential for almost every aspect of education, allowing potential entrepreneurs to take advantage of technological developments and offering valuable insights for designing targeted interventions and policies to foster a more robust digital entrepreneurial ecosystem.
