Abstract

Reading skills are one of the basic language skills in any language, and this study aims to find out the effectiveness of the book (Iqra) in developing basic level reading skills of students in Jordanian schools from underprivileged schools in Jordan. This study employs a descriptive approach, whereby the researcher has observed samples of 100 students from primary level in two schools, Al-Thunaibah primary school for male students and Al-Thunaibah primary school for female students. It consist of 20 students in a control sample, and 80 students in an experimental sample. The study found that students who learn reading skills using Iqra books shows improvement in reading ability compared to students who use traditional reading skills books.  Keywords: Reading Skills, Iqra Book, Under-Privilege School.

Abstract

In the current digital age, students are required to possess high level of digital literacy. Digital literacy refers to an individuals’ ability to effectively find, evaluate, and use information throughdigital technology. The aim of this study is to explore the role of digital literacy in enhancing students’ competencies in the digital age. The methodology used in this study is by collecting data from class observations, interviews with teachers, and surveys to students and parents. The result of this study indicates that digital literacy affects students’ abilities in leraning, collaborating, and facing challenges in the digital age. The implications of the study suggest that digital literacy is crucial in preparing students to face challenges in the digital age, such as resulting on better academic performance, increasing students’ interest in learning, and preparing students’ readiness to face future challenges.  Keywords: Digital Age, Digital Literacy, Students’ Competency

Abstract

The most effective effort in achieving the national development target is through education. The purpose of this study is to explore the role of teachers in the development of hidden curriculum-based islamic boarding schools. This research uses a qualitative approach method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and observations. The subject of the study consisted of 80 students and 10 teachers. Findings from the study show that teachers have a very crucial role in the development of hidden curricula based on islamic boarding schools, especially in terms of shaping the character of students. Teachers understand that the character of students is not only formed through formal subjects but also the values of Islamic boarding schools passed down from generation to generation. Therefore, the teacher acts as a facilitator in helping students understand and apply the values of Islamic boarding schools in everyday life. Teachers also act as models for students, by demonstrating behaviors and actions that are following the values of Islamic boarding schools. In this case, teachers need to have a deep understanding of the values of Islamic boarding schools and the ability to integrate these values into the existing curriculum.  Keywords: Teacher, Hidden Curriculum, Islamic Boarding School, Student Character.

Abstract

The education system expects teachers to be more competent as educators. This means that the teacher must be proficient and professional. This study aims to find the concept of educator personality from the thoughts of al-Imām an-Nawawī in his book At-Tibyān Fī 'Ādāb Hamalati Al-Qur'ān and also its relevance to the National Education Standards set by the Indonesian Ministry of Education. The type of research that researchers use is qualitative research with a literature review approach by describing Imam Nawawi's thoughts and discussing their relevance to teachers and National Education Standards. The primary data source is from the book At-Tibyān written by Al-Imām Al-Nawawi. From the analysis that has been carried out, it is found that the concept of educator personality from Imam Nawawi's thought, namely: (1) Educators should carry out their responsibilities sincerely with the sole intention of expecting the pleasure of Allah SWT. (2) Educators do not intend to obtain worldly pleasures. (3) Educators must always be careful and thorough. (4) Educators should adorn themselves with commendable qualities and good morals. (5) Students must be treated well by educators. (6) Educators should advise their students. (7) Educators must be gentle and humble 8) Students must be taught to behave in a way that is approved by Allah SWT by their teacher from time to time. (9) If there are many students, the teacher should give priority to the first student's turn and so on. Abstract

Along with the development of the technology and information age, new technology has emerged in the form of AR (Augment Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality), namely 3D digital technology that exists in the Metaverse, so that from this growth era this can affect the world of economics, politics, and education. Thus, Metaverse is proven to be effective and efficient in future learning strategies. besides that, Metavres is an alternative, especially in the world of economics, politics, and education. So with this in mind, in the case study educational researchers have a purpose and are curious about what Metaverse technology is and how influential it will be for the world of education in the future. This research uses qualitative research with a literature research approach (Library Research) by way of describing scientific studies that intersect with the Metaverse and educational strategies. The basis of this research is a combination of several features in Metaverse with educational strategies. Thus making continuity between implementation and process very potent in the future. Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation and development of public relations management at the Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic Boarding School in the era of smart society 5.0. The research method used is a case study. Which is located at Zainul Hasan Genggong Pajarakan Islamic Boarding School, Probolinggo. This study uses descriptive qualitative research, with its research methods, namely interviews, documentation, and observation. The results of the study show that public relations management at Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic Boarding School is very influential. with a good management system in the form of planning, implementation, and evaluation. All programs can run as intended. The Public Relations Management of Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic Boarding School has been kept up to date, which has also utilized information and communication technology, including the Web, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and even TikTok. So that the management of public relations is very effective both in the implementation and the results obtained. Although several challenges and obstacles must be faced, all of them can be overcome with a good public relations management system to achieve a better image.  Keywords: Public Relations, Islamic Boarding Schools

Abstract

Differentiated learning based on student characteristics is one of the keys to success in learning, especially in schools with a Full Day School system. Learning is effective when the teacher can choose and determine an approach based on an analysis of the characteristics of the students because the study hours in Full Day School systems are longer than in general schools. The research subjects were MTs students. Ahmad Yani Jabung class 9 whose study hours use the Full Day School system. This study describes the importance of teacher pedagogical competence, especially aspects of understanding the psychological characteristics of students, including; (1) Teacher competence in recognizing the psychological characteristics of students in the class. (2) Teacher competence in choosing approaches and methods based on students' psychological characteristics. If the two competencies of teachers who teach at schools with the Full Day School system are not optimal, there will be an impact on changes in the psychological characteristics of students while studying in class. The results of this study used descriptive qualitative research with the variable Student Psychological Characteristics. The results of the study show that (1) there are still more teachers who do not understand the psychological characteristics of students, (2) there are 50% of students cannot take the learning process seriously, and (3) psychologically the impacts that occur on students such as boredom, fatigue and weak in capturing lessons.  Keywords: Full Day School, Psychology Characteristics

Abstract

The State of Qatar has a great record in the field of coexistence and peace, which is part of the state's internal and external policy amidst a world full of conflicts. The State of Qatar has the highest percentage of immigrants in the world, so it has been keen to manage this population diversity efficiently to achieve peaceful coexistence as a lofty civilized goal that humanity strives for, in accordance with its religious authority and civil laws, procedures that are in line with international treaties and agreements that it has ratified. This topic was chosen based on the fact that Qatar ranked first regionally and had advanced degrees globally in the Global Peace Index (IEP), and it seek to answer the main study question which is: To what extent are the population groups of expatriate workers satisfied with the Qatari measures in the  economic, social, cultural and legal aspects to support and promote the peaceful coexistence in the State of Qatar in light of the Qatari immigration objectives for the Alliance of Civilizations? The empirical study followed the descriptive analytical approach, and the questionnaire and interview tool to collect information from a sample of (2401 respondents) to assess the extent of satisfaction of population groups of expatriate workers with the Qatari measures in the  economic, social, cultural and legal aspects to support and promote the peaceful coexistence in the State of Qatar in light of the objectives of the Qatari immigration for the Alliance of Civilizations as a main objective of the study, during the period from 2015-2022. The study came out with several results: there is a high satisfaction rate of (83.7%), and an arithmetic average of (3.04) about the measures taken by Qatar with regard to managing population diversity through the elements of peaceful coexistence. The study recommended investing the Qatari model in managing population diversity to spread the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence globally especially towards minorities who suffer injustice and persecution in some countries of the world, increasing interest in the Arabic language by Qatar by obliging expatriates to learn its basics to achieve more harmony and integration, and to highlight the value of equality in dealing with others from a religious and international standpoint for the advancement of society. Abstract

This research is based on the background of the low level of ability to read the yellow scriptures caused by the inaccurate choice of learning methods, this research is important to do in order to test the effectiveness of the level of application of the yassarna method in learning to read the yellow scriptures quickly and correctly. The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the content of the yassarna method with the relationship of behavioristic theory and the success and failure of the yassarna method. This research is a qualitative research at the exploratory level of analysis. Primary data sources are observation and direct interviews with the organizers of the Yassarna method, such as students, pesantren administrators, ustadz and students. Secondary data in the form of yassarna method book modules, as well as those related to the yassarna method. The result of this study is the yassarna method as a yellow scriptures learning of Abdul Hamid Sholeh Jombang pesantren provides a solution in the process of learning the kitab kuning quickly and well. One of the successes of learning the yassarna method is being active in learning, enthusiasm in singing the verses of each table column. The relationship between behavioristic theory and the yassarna method is interrelated, because the behavioristic method can facilitate educators and students in the learning process.  Keywords: Yellow Scriptures, Pesantren, Yassarna Method

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sustainability of Madrasa in the digital era by focusing on two aspects, namely increasing flexibility and dealing with the threat of artificial intelligence. This research was conducted using the library research method, with data collection techniques in the form of systematic literature reviews. The results of the study show that the sustainability of Madrasa in the digital era is very dependent on the ability of Madrasa to increase flexibility and face the threat of artificial intelligence. Increased flexibility is carried out by developing learning programs that can be accessed online and offline, using innovative learning technology, and involving teachers and students in the learning process. Meanwhile, to deal with the threat of artificial intelligence, Madrasa need to improve digital capabilities and prepare teachers and students to face changes in an increasingly complex and dynamic world of work. Madrasa also need to strengthen Islamic values ​​and wisely introduce artificial intelligence concepts. The sustainability of madrasa in the digital era requires a holistic approach, which includes aspects of technology, management, and curriculum.
