Abstract

In the digital era, teachers are not only educators in schools but can also work as TikTokers in the TikTok application or cyberspace. The success of TikTokers in earning a lot of money by creating various kinds of content has motivated teachers to become content creators. However, not all teachers are wise and careful when choosing content topics. Moreover, the content created by teachers is easily accessible to many people, including their students. The diverse range of content produced by teachers on the TikTok application can have an impact on the knowledge and character development of students and society as a whole. This is because the TikTok application is currently popular among people of all age groups, including children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly. Upon examining the content created by teachers, it is evident that some teachers are appropriate, careful, and wise in their content creation, while others are not. Therefore, this discussion aims to explore the phenomenon of teachers as TikTokers from the perspective of Islamic education, focusing on teachers' creative activities in cyberspace through the TikTok application. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing library research.  Keywords: Teacher, Tiktokers, Islamic Education

Abstract

Reward, as a positive stimulus, aims to strengthen desired behavior, while punishment, as a negative response, is directed at reducing undesirable behavior. These concepts reflect the ideas of reward and sin in Islam, with the Quran and Hadith providing guidance. The Quran employs terms such as tsawab and ‘iqaab to depict reward and sin. For example, in Surah Ali Imran verse 148, Allah emphasizes the provision of recompense in the world and good rewards in the Hereafter. In the educational context, rewards are not only material but also non-material, such as praise and recognition. Hadith also offers guidance on the concept of punishment in education. For instance, it indicates that educating a child involves specific stages, with physical punishment as an option when a child reaches the age of ten. Despite the allowance for punishment, affection, and gradual learning remain prioritized. In the context of implementing the concepts of reward and punishment in the modern era, the article notes new challenges in education and changes in perspectives on physical punishment. The article also discusses forms of rewards, such as verbal and non-verbal praise, symbols, enjoyable activities, and respect. Punishment is categorized into three types: associative, logical, and normative, with considerations for balance, context, consistency, psychological awareness, and alternative learning. By referencing Islamic teachings and modern psychological concepts, this article illustrates the importance of implementing reward and punishment wisely in the educational context to achieve character formation goals without compromising the psychological well-being of individuals.   Keywords: Education, Punishment, Reward, Modern Era

Abstract

Learning Islamic religious education is an essential part of achieving national education goals. Meanwhile, choosing a learning model is important in achieving success in Islamic Religious Education. This research aims to reveal how applying the Bela H. Banathy learning model in Islamic religious education can improve the quality of learning. This qualitative research uses a literature study approach. The data analysis method uses descriptive analysis methods to reveal the application of the learning model developed in 1968 by Bela H. Banathy in learning Islamic religious education in schools. The research results show that the Bela H. Banathy learning system is relevant to learning Islamic religious education. This model uses an approach oriented towards student learning outcomes by developing the concept of a spiral or learning cycle. Implementation of this model is carried out through six stages, namely: (1) formulating goals, (2) developing tests, (3) analyzing learning activities, (4) designing a teaching system, (5) carrying out test development activities, (6) and making improvements based on Banathy's evaluation results. The Banathy model has advantages in formulating goals according to student abilities and a structured and measurable learning system. This model can provide meaningful learning experiences, improve critical thinking skills and creativity, and use a holistic learning approach. On the other hand, weaknesses include the need for more steps in designing learning and the tendency to ignore previously learned knowledge.   Keywords: Learning Model, Bela H. Abstract

The current generation of young people plays a pivotal role in advancing Indonesia towards its vision of a Golden Indonesia by 2045. Within the realm of higher education, particularly in religious studies, there exists a significant emphasis on cultivating the character of students. Islamic education, in particular, holds a crucial position in the development of competent individuals equipped with both technical skills and interpersonal competencies. This research endeavors to explore the implementation of project-based learning (PjBL) within the curriculum of Religious Education programs offered by public universities. The aim is to harness this approach as a means of fostering exemplary student character. Conducted in Tulungagung, Indonesia, this study adopts a qualitative methodology employing a case study design. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with key stakeholders in education as well as experts in Islamic religious education at the university level. Additionally, participatory observation and document analysis were utilized to scrutinize the integration of project-based learning within the religious education curriculum. Findings from this research indicate that the incorporation of the PjBL approach into Religious Education courses at public universities facilitates an interactive and collaborative learning atmosphere. By engaging in practical projects aligned with religious contexts and local customs, students are allowed to cultivate practical skills and a profound comprehension of religious principles and local traditions crucial to the development of exemplary character.   Keywords: Religious Education, Public Universities, Project-Based Learning, Character Development
