Abstract

Covid-19 emergency online learning requires a simultaneous transformation from face-to-face learning to online learning. The goal of this reseach is to know comprehensively about the perception of Students of the English Tadris Study Program on the effectiveness of online learning during the pandemic at IAIN Pontianak. Based on observations and interviews by several Students of the English Tadris Study Program, online lectures took place with various obstacles. The pros and cons occur among students related to the implementation of online learning. Most students prefer lectures to be conducted face-to-face due to various factors, including: boredom due to lack of direct interaction with friends and lecturers, too much burdened with assignments by lecturers, unsupportive internet access, even to the point of frustration due to lack of finance to accommodate online learning. However, the current conditions do not allow lectures to be conducted offline for all students. Then this should be a more concern for the English Tadris Study Program to evaluate and improve in the future to accommodate the problems faced by students during online learning during the pandemic.

Abstract

Speaking in English is a scary thing for students. This is influenced by psychological effects, namely fear of making mistakes in pronunciation and grammar or using the right words. An unsupportive environment also causes students to be afraid to speak. It is therefore necessary to create a pleasant classroom atmosphere for the learning objectives to succeed. This research uses research and development methods adapted from the development of 4D models that consists of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate.The STAD type learning model used in this study was applied in a virtual classroom using an online learning system to bring the atmosphere of a real classroom into the virtual classroom. In virtual classrooms, students cannot meet face to face with other students so that it will reduce the interaction process and cause individualismThe development   of a Cooperative Learning  learning model type Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) can help lecturers in  teaching English speaking pleasantly  in   virtual classes. The results of expert team tests   and  product trials show that the learning model  is feasible to develop.

Abstract

This research aimed to reveal (1) how the Cued retell strategy can improve the students’ reading comprehension, (2) to describe the classroom situation when Cued retell strategy is implemented to teach reading comprehension, and (3) to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of Cued retell strategy to teach reading comprehension to the eleventh graders of SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak. The research used Classroom action Research and was carried out in two cycles with three meetings in Cycle 1 and two meetings in Cycle 2. There were two kinds of data collection during the research, quantitative and qualitative data. The instrument for collecting the quantitative data was reading comprehension test in multiple-choice, while for qualitative data, gathered through observation sheet and field note to obtain the class situation during the implementation of the Cued retell strategy and reflection sheet to guide the reflecting phase in the end of each cycle. The result of the research showed that (1) cued retell strategy was able to improve students’ reading comprehension; (2) cued retell strategy was able to improve classroom situation, in terms of students’ motivation, participation and interaction; and (3) there were some advantages and disadvantages of implementation of Cued retell strategy to teach reading comprehension

Abstract

This study emphasizes the importance of student understanding in the implementation of professional learning orientation (PLO). PL requires students as preservice teachers to continue to develop in order to increase their professional capacity in continuing to learn, and this capacity increase is correlated with improving the quality of student learning if the orientation is to become a professional teacher. The number of samples is 100 students of total. This research used quantitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques used are indirect communication techniques. This study used a closed-ended questionnaire consisting of 20 questions. The data that has been collected in this study was inputted and quantified using a dummy value of 1 to 4, After the researcher got the result from the questionnaire, then the data was processed by the researcher using the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) method, to show the pattern of practice factors for pre-service teachers in PL (Professional Learning). The results showed activities in two factors REO (Research, Evaluation, Orientation) and CSCD (Collaborative Social Capital Development) as preservice teachers at PLO (Professional Learning Orientation) at the IKIP PGRI Pontianak Campus. From the finding that has been presented, it is expected that students as preservice teachers can maximize every learning activity in these two factors in order to increase their capabilities as students with level value of high, especially those who will become teachers in the future. The results of this study are recommendations to provide insight into the Professional Learning Orientation (PLO) which can be a learning reference for all students in developing their learning techniques in studying, especially if the orientation is to become a professional teacher.

Abstract

This research focuses on how the knowledge and values of prospective teachers in mastering skills in the 21st century, such as understanding and implementing 4C, Classroom Management, and mastering technology as a supporting medium in the teaching and learning process. The purpose of this study is to determine the Self-Efficacy of prospective teachers in the mastery of 21st century skills, as well as to determine the values of prospective teachers in mastering 21st century skills. Then the method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method, which is a study to analyze data by describe or describe the data that has been collected. Technique of data collection that used in this research was questionnaire, and the technique of data analysis is statistic descriptive which used to analyze the data from the questionnaire, with the findings that prospective teachers assess that 21st century skills can be mastered and have excellent self-efficacy for these skills. It can be said that prospective teachers already have high self-efficacy and place values that are important for 21st century skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang proses morfologis pada lirik lagu Tulus dalam album Manusia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses morfologis yang terjadi di lagu Tulus pada album Manusia, khususnya afiksasi dan reduplikasi. Penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode simak. Sementara teknik yang digunakan adalah teknik catat. Dalam penelitian ini diperoleh data sebanyak 126 kata yang mengalami proses morfologis. Dari 126 kata tersebut, sebanyak 116 kata mengalami proses afiksasi dan 10 kata mengalami reduplikasi. Jenis afiksasi terbanyak yang ditemukan yaitu prefiks sebanyak 69 kata dan konfiks sebanyak 9 kata. Sementara itu untuk reduplikasi yang paling banyak digunakan adalah reduplikasi penuh/murni sebanyak 5 kata dan yang paling sedikit adalah reduplikasi semu sebanyak 1 kata.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the use of the Grammarly Application in improving students' writing ability. This study uses a Quasi-Experimental design. This research was conducted at MTs Fajar Siddiq Palembang. There were two groups selected by purposive sampling, consisting of VII.2 grade as the experiment group and VII.3 grade as the control group. Each student was given a pre-test at the beginning of the study and a post-test at the end of the study. Data processing in this study using the Independent sample t-test. This study results that students who are given an application of the Grammarly Application can help students in reducing errors in writing significantly, as evidenced by the results of the pre-test and post-test data that have been given. The Grammarly Application has proven to be more effective at helping to reduce errors in writing such as grammar, spelling, and punctuation. This research can be a suggestion for teachers as an alternative to student writing that supports students' independent learning environment.

Abstract

Kemampuan membaca permulaan merupakan ketrampilan dasar anak yang akan mempengaruhi keberhasilan anak pada jenjang pendidikan selanjutnya, namun belum banyak pengembangan media pembelajaran untuk melatih membaca permulaan yang dilakukan oleh guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui media pembelajaran apa saja yang pernah digunakan oleh guru ketika mengajar dikelas, 2) mengetahui apakah media tersebut efektif untuk melatih membaca permulaan anak usia 4-5 tahun, 3) untuk mengetahui media pembelajaran seperti apa yang dibutuhkan oleh guru untuk melatih membaca permulaan anak usia 4-5 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode yang digunakan adalah deskriftif kualitatif. Partisipan  dalam penelitian mencakup 10 tenaga pendidik PAUD di kabupaten Sanggau. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 1) partisipan pernah menggunakan media pembelajaran dengan berbagai variasi diantaranya adalah puzzle, papan abjad, slime dan flashcard, 2) pembelajaran menggunakan media yang digunakan selama mengajar dikelas belum efektif untuk melatih membaca permulaan, dan 3) menurut partisipan media yang dibutuhkan untuk melatih membaca permulaan adalah media yang menarik agar anak tidak bosan, bisa dibuat oleh guru, media yang bisa membuat waktu belajar jadi efisien, dan media yang bisa digunakan secara berkelompok agar anak merasa sedang berkompetisi sehingga  tidak cepat bosan.

Abstract

Menulis merupakan satu dari empat keterampilan dasar bahasa Indonesia, elemen lainnya berupa menyimak, membaca, dan berbicara. Keterampilan menulis setiap individu pembelajar dapat dilatih dan dikembangkan dengan cara banyak membaca referensi dan berlatih menulis. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi bertema cerita rakyat Jombang; Besut-Rusmini, Damarwulan, dan Kebokicak pada siswa kelas X2 SMAN 2 Jombang menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL) berbantuan aplikasi Padlet sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang meliputi tahap prasiklus, siklus I, dan siklus II, setiap siklus terdiri atas empat tahap meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik observasi, angket/kuesioner, dokumentasi, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan, dapat dilihat dari data kuantitatif rata-rata skor menulis puisi pada kondisi awal adalah 62,5, pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 70,29, dan pada siklus II meningkat lagi menjadi 77,79. Ketuntasan belajar kondisi awal adalah 10 siswa sebesar 29,41%, pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 14 siswa sebesar 41,17%, dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 24 siswa sebesar 70,58%. Hal ini dapat dimaknai bahwa Padlet bermanfaat pada peningkatan keterampilan menulis siwa dan menghalau kesulitan pada proses menulis.

Abstract

This research belongs to research and development method which aims to gain a product and to test its effectiveness. The research and development model used is the 4D model named for Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination. The product yield is a digital book (eBook) of Central Kalimantan folklore with pictures in English to support narrative text learning material in the junior high school level. The school chosen as the try out sample for the product was SMP Negeri-2 Palangka Raya by choosing two English teachers and 72 students. The results showed that the product design has met the feasibility standardization in terms of media form, material content, and language use. In addition, after being tested, the product developed is able to improve student learning outcomes in terms of understanding the social function of the text, generic structure, and language features as illustrated in the pictured narrative texts. Thus, the eBook has made a positive contribution to student learning achievement because it has supported the implementation of learning and made it easier for students to achieve the competency that they must attain.
