Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji potensi dan basis pengembangan sumberdaya peternakan Kabupaten Lombok Utara (KLU), Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis Location Quition (LQ), analisis Shift Share, analisis Model Rasio Pertumbuhan (MRP) dan analisis Overlay. Data yang dianalisis adalah data primer yang diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan berbagai pihak, serta data sekunder yang sifatnya runtun waktu (time series). Komoditas ternak yang dianalisis adalah ternak besar terdiri dari sapi, kerbau dan kuda dan ternak kecil meliputi kambing domba dan babi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, sapi potensial dikembangkan di semua kecamatan di Lombok Utara. Kerbau kurang potensial dikembangkan meskipun populasinya cukup mendukung jika dikembangkan di Kecamatan Bayan. Kuda memiliki kecenderungan surplus di Kecamatan Pemenang dan Bayan serta kompetitif dikembangkan di Kecamatan Tanjung. Kambing kompetitif, tumbuh dominan dan surplus di Kecamatan Kayangan dan Bayan; kemudian tumbuh dominan serta surplus di Kecamatan Tanjung dan Gangga; dan tumbuh dominan dan surplus di Kecamatan Pemenang. Babi kompetitif, tumbuh dominan, surplus di Kecamatan Tanjung dan Gangga; kompetitif dan tumbuh dominan di Kecamatan Kayangan dan Bayan serta tumbuh dominan di Kecamatan Pemenang.

Abstract

Open-pit mining has affected landscapes and ecosystem balances immensely. The effects are including altered soil surface, decreased soil productivity, soil compaction, erosion and sedimentation, declined biodiversity, as well as deteriorated hydrological, hydrogeological, and atmospheric function of the surrounding area. Reclamation is one of the environmental restoration efforts that could be taken to improve these conditions. Physical and chemical properties of soil are the indicators of soil damage level as well as the success indicator of the reclamation program. This study aims to analyze the changes in post-mining soil characteristics after 5 years and 10 years of revegetation. The sample was selected by the purposive sampling method based on the age of plants and the vegetation density. The physical properties of post-coal soil after 5 years of revegetation are characterized by high soil acidity, low in organic matter (OM)/soil organic carbon (SOC), very low total N (nitrogen), moderate P availability, extremely high K2O, and moderate CEC. Whilst, the post-coal mining soil after 10 years of revegetation is found to be acidic (low pH), with moderate SOC, low total N, low P, very high K2O, and moderate CEC. Heavy metal (Fe, Mn, Al) contents in ex-coal mining reclamation area after 5 years and 10 years revegetation found to be in the high category. Abstract

Program Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) yang dilakukan oleh PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk Cirebon berdampak positif bagi masyarakat sekitarnya, dari dampak tersebut maka PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk Cirebon mempunyai citra yang positif dikalangan masyarakat sekitar. PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk Cirebon berupaya untuk menjadi perusahaan yang lebih maju dan memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat sekitarnya. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana pengaruh CSR terhadap persepsi Masyarakat di sekitar industri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksplanatory research atau penjelasan. Berdasarakan hasil penelitian, penerapan program CSR menurut pendapat masyarakat desa gempol yang menjadi desa binaan PT. Indocement dapat digambarkan melalui tingkat kepuasan masyarakat desa binaan atas keberhasilan pengaruh penerapan program CSR yang telah dijalankan, hal ini dapat didukung dengan skor rata-rata hasil kuisioner pelaksanaan program CSR PT. Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk Cirebon yang tergolong baik sehingga dengan adanya CSR tersebut dapat diterima baik oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

Sumardi et al, 2016. Ratoon Performances of Rice Lines Generated from Bengkulu Local Varieties on Inland Swamp. JLSO 5(1):71-78.Ratooning offers an opportunity to increase rice production under swampy areas commonly hampered by a limited growing seasons due seasonal water level fluctuation. Present study was undertaken to evaluate the ratoon growth and yield performances of rice lines grown on inland swamp. Eight F4 lines derived from crosses involving Bengkulu local swamp rice varieties (UBPR1, UBPR2,  UBPR3, UBPR4, UBPR6, UBPR7, UBPR9, and UBPR10)  along with two released varieties (Inpara5 and Inpara 6) were grown on inland swamp under a randomized complete block design with three replications. Data were collected on ratoons emerged following harvest of the main crops for plant height,  total tiller number,heading date, productive tiller number, panicle length, grain number per panicle,percent of filled grains per panicle, 100 grain weight,  and grain yield per hill. Results indicated significant variations among the genotypes for most of the observed variables, except total tiller number, grain number per panicle, and percent of filled grains per panicle. UBPR10had produced highest total tiller number (12.6) and productive tiller number (11.6). UBPR1 produced the highest panicle length (19.0 cm) and grain number per panicle (66.43).  UBPR3 exhibited the tallest  (100.13 cm) and highest grain yield per hill (12.023 g), but most delayed heading date (18.0 d).  With respect to the productivity of  ratoon,  UBPR 3 showed the most productive lineby yielding  grain 49.54% of the main crop yield.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that influence the success of the Printing Industry business in Jambi City. The population in this study was the printing industry entrepreneur with 55 respondents. Sample collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires with census techniques to 55 entrepreneurs who already have a printing industry in the city of Jambi. This research uses Multiple Linear Regression analysis tools. The results showed that the factors that had a significant influence were the Marketing and Sales Factors, and Government Regulation Factors. Factors that did not have a significant effect were Opportunity Factor, Human Factor (HR), Financial Factor, Organizational Factor, Planning Factor, Business Management Factor, Administrative Factor, and Business Record Factor. And the most dominant factor is the Marketing and Sales Factor. With good marketing and large sales, business success will be even greater.

Abstract

Luka merupakan kondisi hilangnya kontinuitas struktur jaringan. Salah satu tanaman obat yang ikut berperan dalam membantu proses penyembuhan luka adalah tanaman binahong (Anredera cordifolia). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektifitas pemberian ekstrak daun binahong terhadap ketebalan jaringan granulasi dan jarak tepi luka pada penyembuhan luka sayat tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus).Studi eksperimental yang menggunakan rancangan penelitian post test only control group designdilaksanakan bulan Februari-April 2014 di Laboratorium Teknik Kimia Universitas Sriwijaya, Animal House Fakultas Kedokteran Unsri dan Laboratorium Patologi RSUP dr.Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Sampel yang digunakan adalah tikus putih sebanyak 30 sampel dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kontrol negatif diberikan vaselin, ekstrak daun binahong 10%, 20%, 40% dan kontrol positif diberikan salep madecassol). Data dianalisis menggunakan program SPSS versi 19 dengan uji homogenitas, independent t-test, uji OneWay Anova dilanjutkan uji post hoc multiple comparisons. Hasil penelitian didapatkan pada pemberian ekstrak daun binahong dosis 10% (p=0.001) dan 20% (p=0.002) dibandingkan dengan salep Madecassol menunjukkan ada perbedaan bermakna rerata ketebalan jaringan granulasi dan jarak tepi luka sedangkan ekstrak daun binahong 40% dibandingkan dengan salep Madecassol pada luka sayat tikus putih menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan bermakna rerata ketebalan jaringan granulasi dan jarak tepi luka (p=0.563). Kesimpulan penelitian ekstrak daun binahong mempunyai efek yang sama dengan salep Madecassol terhadap ketebalan jaringan granulasi dan jarak tepi luka pada luka sayat tikus putih. Dosis yang paling efektif terdapat pada ekstrak daun binahong 40%.Diperlukan penelitian lanjutan untuk membuktikan efek ekstrak daun binahong (anredera cordifolia) terhadap enzim-enzim pada saat proses inflamasi (seperti TGF, PDGF, KGF, VEGF) serta toksisitas dari daun binahong.

Abstract

This paper focused on the role of visual aids in teaching English. A visual aid is an object or representation that may be used to clarify or enhance understanding of a concept or process.The role of visual aids are : (1) Visual aids are learning tools that educators and presenters use to convey an idea more effectively, (2) visual aids is that they help an audience use their visual capacity, (3) Visual aids are key tools in learning and development since they help increase a student's interest in a subject, (4) that they enhance learning because interactive effects can be used to reinforce the material learned, and (5) Visual aids help emphasize a point, which is another benefit to using them. The use visual aids can be benefical if the role of teacher used it actively.

Abstract

The effect of Lactobacillus acidophilus combined with and without Chito-Oligosaccharide (COS) on the growth of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus had been studied. The antibacterial activity of L. acidophilus before and after combination with COS 0.2% was tested on bacteria of E. coli and S. aureus with well-diffusion method. Incubation time was carried out in 44, 46, 48, 50, and 52 hours. Organic acids produced by L. acidophilus bacteria was measured by HPLC. The result showed that COS 0.2% can inhibit the growth of E. coli and S. aureus 37.2 mm2 and 52 mm2 respectively. Combination of L. acidophilus and COS 0.2% gave inhibition zone larger than L. acidophilus without COS 0.2%. Incubation time within 48 hours of L. acidophilus combined with COS 0.2% produced the largest inhibition zone against E. coli and S. aureus 367.92 mm2 and 343.99 mm2 respectively. Optical density measurement resulted in higher value for combination one but concentration of organic acid produced was lower compare to L. acidophilus without COS 0.2%.Keywords: COS, L. acidophilus, Organic acid, antibacterial.

Abstract

Adsorption of procion red and congo red dyes using microalgae Spirulina sp was conducted. Spirulina sp was obtained by cultivation and production in laboratory scale. Spirulina sp was used as adsorbent for adsorption of dyes. Adsorption process was studied by kinetic and thermodynamic in order to know the adsorption phenomena. The results showed that kinetically congo red is reactive than procion red on Spirulina sp. On the other hand, thermodynamically procion red was stable than congo red on Spirulina sp which was indicated by adsorption capacity, enthalpy, and entropy.

Abstract

The synthesis chitosan linked by methylene bridge-Schiff base of 4,4-diaminodiphenyl ether-vanillin (modified chitosan adsorbent) has been studied. The aims of this research were modification of chitosan with Schiff base of 4,4-diaminodiphenyl ether-vanillin and formaldehyde and its application as antibacterial agent after used as an adsorbent of Zn(II) ion. Characterization of modified chitosan adsorbent was conducted using FTIR spectroscopy. Process of adsorption were conducted at 0.15 g of modified chitosan adsorbent reacted by concentration of Zn(II) ion solution (pH 6, 150 mg/L, 50 mL), contact time at 150 min. and at room temperature (280C). Modified chitosan adsorbent after reacted by Zn(II) ion solution as antibacterial agent with paper disk method. The result showed that chitosan can be modified with Schiff base of 4,4-diaminodiphenyl ether-vanillin and formaldehyde to form chitosan linked methylene bridge and Schiff base of 4,4-diaminodiphenyl ether-vanillin. Antibacterial of chitosan and modified chitosan adsorbent were higher than modified chitosan adsorbent after reacted by Zn(II) ion. Keywords : modified chitosan, antibacterial agent
