This research intends to reveal the increasing senior high school students' mathematics problem solving ability and their mathematical disposition. The study involved 124 private secondary school students consisting of two types of school, namely ordinary private schools and private schools managed by Islamic boarding schools. In addition to examining mathematical problem-solving ability and mathematical dispositions of students based on the type of school and type of learning, this research is also researched based on the students' prior mathematical abilities. This experimental study involved 124 students as the research sample. To obtain the data, pre-test and post-test were conducted. Meanwhile, to analyze the data, the researcher implemented two-way ANOVA. The results showed that the mathematical problem-solving ability and mathematical dispositions of students who used problem-based learning assisted by simple mathematics kit was better than students who only received problem-based learning. Students from Islamic boarding schools can show better problem-solving ability when studying mathematics with problem-based learning assisted by simple math kits. Students from Islamic boarding private school gain better problem-solving ability than students from non-boarding private school, especially students who have high and medium prior mathematical abilities.

Management has a central role in organizational structure and culture. This is also the basis for the integrality of management and organization in Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the management of basic education and its development. The research background is located at MIN 3 Pinang Sori, with a focus on the study of management and development aspects. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical study method. Phenomenologically, researchers tried to collect data in the field by means of interviews, observations, and documentation. Next, the researcher interprets the data through reduction efforts, data presentation, and verification. Finally, the data is declared valid (valid) if it passes the triangulation test. The results of this study indicate that education management at MIN 3 Pinang Sori is well implemented. This is viewed from the implementation of the institution's vision, mission, and goals through the development of a community-based curriculum (a combination of the madrasa curriculum, national education curriculum, and local wisdom). Then, the strategy used in madrasah development is to improve the quality of academic services and the quality of madrasa graduates. The concrete form is in the form of optimizing extracurricular activities to support the potential of students with academic and non-academic achievements, giving prizes as an appreciation for outstanding students and teachers, increasing human resource competencies based on community needs, training for madrasa human resources, and mediation conducted by the madrasa committee with the local community.

This study aims to determine the impact of using a genre-based approach on students’ critical thinking skills through learning to write essays. This study uses a quasi-experimental design involving 54 students (experimental and control classes) taking writing course one at the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. Data were collected using a written essay test which was then assessed using the critical thinking skills assessment rubric. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 20.00 by performing paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, and MANOVA. The group of students who used the genre approach was proven to improve critical thinking skills compared to the group that used the conventional method. Thus, it is hoped that teachers can consider this genre approach as an alternative learning method for improving students’ critical thinking skills.

The waste processes skill is an essential skill to overcome environmental pollution problems. Unfortunately, teachers cannot yet train student skills due to the lack of a specific worksheet for specific activities. Waste processing activity would be more meaningful if it were integrated with entrepreneurship. This research aims to develop a natural science worksheet integrated to entrepreneurship that can train students' science processes skills through waste management activity. This research uses the developmental research method of ADDIE type. This research sample was junior high school students in Mataram. The data analysis of validity results uses the Aiken V index. The result of the Aiken V index from the material experts was V =0.84, categorized as very good, and the result from the worksheet design experts was V=0.83, categorized as very good. The observation reliability of science processes skills was analyzed using a Percentage of Agreement (PA). It was derived with a PA = 0.85, meaning that it meets the standard result of good observation. Students' science processes skill was observed in three activities, they are: making compost fertilizer, making handicraft products, and SWOT identification activity. Natural science worksheet integrated to entrepreneurship can train students to be skillful in making compost fertilizer and handicraft products. Meanwhile, the students consider that SWOT identification activity is still strange for them. Hence, as much as 10% of students have not been skilled yet in performing SWOT identification. The teachers need to be more active in arranging waste management, be it in school or assigning tasks to manage waste at home.

This study aimed to determine the extent to which complete quality management is applied in distance education in higher education. This research uses policy research methods. This research approach is qualitative with the type of policy research. Policy research is conducting or analyzing core social problems to provide recommendations to decision-makers on how to solve them realistically. According to research findings, Total Quality Management (TQM) in higher education manifests itself in interactions between professors and students in the classroom or in revising accreditation or assessment criteria. A structured system can turn an organization into a learning organization. TQM also contributes to increased morale, cost savings, organizational performance, and responsiveness to customer needs in higher education. Barriers to applying TQM in universities include idealistic goals, lack of agreement on the definition and application of quality, freedom, academic maturity, and administrative abilities.

This research aimed to determine the implementation of peace education through history subjects and the development of historical materials for the development of national unity and peace. The research used the descriptive qualitative research method. The research subjects were teachers of history and students of class XII IPA 2 MAN 1 Banda Aceh. The research informants were teachers of non-history subjects and the principal of MAN 1 Banda Aceh. The validity of this research data used triangulation. The data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification data. The results showed that peace education through history learning was not carried out in classrooms but made use of the Aceh Peace Memorial Room. This room made it easier for students to directly access the events of the Aceh conflict and the peace process. This condition made it easier for students to directly understand the material on Overcoming the Threat of National Disintegration and its relation to peace in Aceh. In the early stages, the students toured the Aceh peace memorial room. They saw photos of Aceh's conflict and peace journey. After the tour, they continued to see two movies about ‘Weaving Peace in Aceh’ and ‘Sustainability and Example of Aceh Peace’. Students reflected on these three activities by writing articles themed Aceh Peace Strengthens National Integration. The results of this paper were recorded as student work entitled ‘Aceh Peace Strengthens National Integration’ in which there were subtitles from student groups.

For a long time, Islam has a dichotomy tradition of science and religion. As a result of the Dutch colonialism, dual education and curriculum systems were born in Indonesia, namely the education system of the ministry of national education which was often considered as a secular curriculum and the education system of the ministry of religion which considered less in science aspect. The democratization era provides opportunity to synthesize them with the advent of Integrated Schools of Islam as an alternative. This research aims to find out how the integration of Islam values into science. The qualitative method is used as research methodology. The data were collected through observation, in-depth interview, and documentation. The result of the research reveals that the school not only teaches the science, but also the fact behind the fact. They integrate science and spiritual values of Islam. The integration is done by synthesizing two curriculums into one curriculum of Integrated Elementary School of Islam. It is a great effort towards the synthesis of postmodernism of science in Islam.
