Abstract

A thesis is a graduation requirement for students to complete their studies. However, along with the much research that students have carried out, many universities are not ready to provide a forum that can make it easier for students to access the required thesis files, one of which is the Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. To overcome this problem, the researchers developed a program that focuses on finding the thesis document with the help of Information Retrieval. Information Retrieval can help sort out which thesis data is appropriate and will group it into data groups given to seekers. As an improvement, this program is also given an additional feature in the form of category grouping, which is done using Faceted Search based on the keywords of each document. In this research, the BM25 method is used to prove whether this method can produce good accuracy in searching for student thesis data. The tests carried out on 25 queries resulted in the most considerable average value at the value of k=5, with a value of 0.928. This shows that the search results for the most relevant documents are collected in the top 5 documents.

Abstract

Learning Management System (LMS) is an information system that developed in order to support the learning process, including distribution of education materials and collaboration between student and educators. From interviews that conducted with students of SMAN 90 Jakarta, several problems were found in the LMS including features that could not be used and the LMS have never been evaluated before. The purpose of this research is to discover any user experience and usability issue on LMS using the TUXEL method. The retrieval data process is using three questionnaires, namely: general usability inspection, pedagogic usability inspection, and the last one is user experience evaluation that given to 10 respondents with the purposive sampling technique, prioritize the 11th grade student or the second year of school. The result of user experience evaluation got the average score of each scale, having a positive perception that it meets the condition above 0.8. Then researchers did the review of every items after sorting them by frequency. There are a total of 27 items sorted. The result of the study stated that there are 8 items found because the Moodle based LMS does not provide the related features, 6 items found because the school LMS does not use related features, and 13 items found because the student did not understand the features on LMS.

Abstract

A growing number of internet users leads to a high amount of network traffic. Servers need to be added to avoid overload. Load balancing is also needed to distribute the load equally. Load balancing is widely implemented in SDN because it's programmable and flexible in a complex network. Therefore, this research proposes the implementation of load balancing in SDN using linear regression. The dataset for modeling linear regression function contains thirty samples. It contains the information of central processing unit (CPU), random access memory (RAM) and number of requests. The linear regression calculation is according to the server's CPU and RAM. The result is a prediction of the number of requests from each server. A server with the lowest request is chosen by the controller to handle the request. This research compares between linear regression and round-robin. In traffic distribution testing using linear regression, server with higher specifications gets more distribution than a server with lower specifications. In the testing of 300 requests per second, linear regression's response time is between 169.3 to 353.4 milliseconds, and round-robin is between 339.2 to 1232.6 milliseconds. Linear regression's throughput is between 241.5 to 310.7 KB/s, and round-robin is between 129.4 to 179.8 KB/s. In CPU utilization testing, the highest CPU usage in linear regression is 75 percent, and round-robin is 98 percent.

Abstract

PT Bank Central Asia Tbk launched the BCA mobile application to maximize the use of technology to answer their customer needs and wants, and to be able to compete in the digital era. However, during implementation, customers find it difficult in viewing transactions history, processing transfers to a different bank, and viewing available balance. Also, the user interface is not up-to-date. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct usability evaluation using the task scenario test and the SUS questionnaire. The task scenario testing was conducted to assess aspects of learnability, error, and efficiency, which involved 6 participants aged 18 - 56 who were divided into two groups. The task scenario test on group 1 obtained the results for the learnability of 41.67%, the efficiency of 0.009 goals/sec, and the error of 0.41. In contrast to the participants in group 2, the result for the learnability was 70.8%, the efficiency was 0.02 goals/sec, and the error was 0.16. Meanwhile, the SUS questionnaire which was used to assess the satisfaction obtained 76.38. According to the interpretation of the SUS score, this figure is in the acceptable category. When viewed from the grade scales, BCA mobile is in the 'C' category with a 'Good' rating.

Abstract

The Online Student Information System (SIMON) is an academic information system owned by Warmadewa University which is used to support the academic administration process of its students. Based on the results of discussions with one of the developers of the Warmadewa University information system, it was found that the SIMON itself has never been evaluated in terms of user experience. The information obtained through unstructured interviews that the author has conducted with seven students of Warmadewa University, also shows that the interface of the SIMON website interface is rather inconsistent, seems outdated and unattractive. This is certainly not desirable because it can have an impact on the experience and productivity of students as users and of course, not in accordance with the vision and mission of Warmadewa University. Therefore, an evaluation was carried out to determine the level of user experience and problems contained in SIMON Warmadewa with the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) and also Usability Testing to find out the level of user experience, usability and existing problems. From the findings of the problems that have been evaluated, improvements were made through the design of an interface design that has a better user experience using a Human Centered Design (HCD). The results of the design were then evaluated using UEQ, where it was found that the usability and user experience values showed positive and better values compared to the current SIMON Warmadewa interface display.

Abstract

Based on data obtained from BPS, the number of working-age residents (15 years) continues to increase. Students of working age are included in the working age and are considered crucial because they can be actors of change in the surrounding environment. However, this becomes difficult because of the paradigm of office workers who are considered more by the community than by their own efforts. Changing the mindset is not easy, there are several influencing factors such as cultural factors, namely uncertainty avoidance, perceived influence and perceived economic value of the startup itself which can affect startup intention. The sample used was 195, sample selection using the proportionate random sampling method. After collecting data, it is analyzed by descriptive statistical methods and testing of basic assumptions including normality tests, linearity tests and homogeneity tests, from the test results can be formed non-parametric analysis methods to determine the relationship between variables. The results of the descriptive analysis show that the mean value of all variables is very high. And from the results of non-parametric analysis, it shows that all variables have a significant influence.

Abstract

Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika Kabupaten Kediri is one of the local government agencies in the fields of communication and informatics. DISKOMINFO of Kabupaten Kediri is currently planning to develop a web-based service to confirm attendance at an event without using manual paperwork and reduce paper usage for confirm attedance. To solve this problem, a web-based user interface and interaction design is made to simplify the attendance process. The design was created using design thinking method consisting of five steps empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The test was done using usability testing with aspects of effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction for civil servant (PNS) and civilian users. The result effectiveness aspect, civil servants scored 90% while the civilian scored 93.3%. The efficiency aspect test shows a result of 0,102 goals/sec and 88,65% for the PNS while 0,150 goals/sec and 94,39% for the civilian. For the satisfaction aspect using the system usability scale, the civil servant scored 79,5, while the civilian scored 79,2. Both of those results can be categorized as "acceptable" on acceptability category, so the designed solution is acceptable to the user.

Abstract

Turun Tangan Malang Community has various social activities, such as health socialization, teaching and learning activities to schools in need, fundraising for areas affected by disasters, skills training for rural communities, and so on. In a previous study by Muhammad Rifqi Ramadhani, research and information gathering on the Turun Tangan Malang community was carried out, and several problems were found, the first being the need for funds to carry out community activities. Furthermore, the limitations of human resources from each activity held. Data collection from volunteers is also not well coordinated and maximal. With these problems, the author wants to carry out the implementation process of system analysis and design that has been done by previous researchers, because the author wants to prove that the designs that have been carried out by the previous thesis can be implemented on a website-based application, and help the problems that exist in the Turun Tangan Malang community. In this thesis, the analysis and design process uses previous research as a reference and an interview process is carried out for data validation. For the implementation, the author uses the PHP programming language and the Codeigniter framework on the grounds that it can facilitate the author in implementing the system from the previous thesis design. The testing process is carried out using unit testing, integration, with the white-box testing method and validation using the black-box testing method, as well as compatibility testing which shows the system can run on various browsers.

Abstract

Sekolah.mu application is the first blended learning platform in Indonesia. The Sekolah.mu application connects educational institutions with students or parents. In its design, this product needs to be evaluated further for the user experience, to determine the level of difficulty experienced by the user. In this study, an evaluation was carried out using the (UEQ) to measure the level of Attractiveness, Clarity, Efficiency, Obedience, Stimulation, and Novelty to respondents. In the evaluation carried out on the old design, the overall results were found to have a Good value with the benchmark value of each point being at a Good value for the points of Attractiveness, Efficiency, Accuracy, Stimulation, and Novelty, while the Clarity point received an Above Average value. After evaluating the old design, a number of problems were also found. Finally, an evaluation was carried out on the design of the improvement solution by obtaining an Excellent value for the overall benchmark value with detailed points of Attractiveness, Efficiency, Accuracy, Stimulation, and Novelty with an Excellent value and Clarity points with a Good value.

Abstract

The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has made learning to be carried out online. SMK Telkom Banjarbaru is one of the schools that conducts online learning, so teachers or educators only get information through communication media (mobile phones), and information from parents as supervisors for learning at home. Learning is carried out smoothly but there is one obstacle in learning at SMK Telkom Banjarbaru is the lack of information to find out student activities by teachers and parents. One solution is to design an android-based application for student information systems using the User Centered Design (UCD) method. This method focuses on user needs, in this design it is classified into students, teachers, and homeroom teachers. In the final stage of this research, namely testing on the application design, all users can achieve task scenarios in each role with a success percentage of 100% so that the application design can be easily recognized and used.
