Abstract

FOMO application is mobile-based application that operates as a discussion forum for completely anonymous professionals to interact and share information in professional world, such as information related to employee salaries, office life and so on. Based on data from the Google Play Store and experience of researchers interacting with application, it was found that problems felt by users included, no notifications, unattractive user interface, inconsistent buttons, and frequent force closes. With these problems, it is necessary to evaluate application and provide recommendations for improving the user interface design of FOMO application. Interface design improvements are carried out using a User-Centered Design approach, while evaluation will be carried out using usability testing method. Evaluation of initial design and solution design was carried out to five respondents by working on a scenario task to obtain level of effectiveness and efficiency, and level of user satisfaction obtained by distributing system usability scale questionnaire. Interface design improvements were made by designing a low-fidelity user interface in form of wireframes and high-fidelity in form of mock-ups. In the initial design evaluation, a score of 58% was obtained for the effectiveness aspect, 51.28% for the efficiency aspect, and 59 for the user satisfaction aspect and found 17 problems with the user interface design. The results of evaluation solution design obtained an increase of 42% in aspect of effectiveness, 46.72% in aspect of efficiency, and 23.5 in aspect of user satisfaction.

Abstract

LinkedIn is the world's largest professional networking platform on the internet. In use, 3 LinkedIn users were found who reported their difficulties through Google Play Store reviews and more than 10 people responded. The review contains complaints about difficult-to-understand guide issues, unclear account restriction information and a lack of understanding of LinkedIn's features. Furthermore, to clarify whether LinkedIn has usability problems, an initial survey was conducted among 21 college students which resulted in that 47.6% of respondents said LinkedIn's social media appearance was in the medium category, 38.1% of respondents said LinkedIn's appearance was in the complex category. Then 52.4% of respondents needed guidance the first time they used LinkedIn. LinkedIn is considered more towards complex social media than other social media. Based on the experience of respondents, stated that they experienced confusion the first time they used LinkedIn. The confusion they experience such as confusion where to start, unclear instructions and not knowing the functions of each LinkedIn feature. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the usability of the LinkedIn website which is focused on the main function of LinkedIn's social media, namely in terms of building profiles and connections using the usability testing method. The method is applied with a qualitative approach through thematic analysis. The results of the usability testing evaluation found a total of 27 usability problems which were grouped into 5 sections of the LinkedIn website features. These features include verification, sub menu plus profile section, settings, front profile and network.

Abstract

Yukmoco is a bookstore domiciled in the city of Surabaya. Yukmoco sells products indirectly through various warehouse partners. Yukmoco stores its products in multiple cities according to where the warehouse partners are located. The business process carried out by Yukmoco still has several problems. Among this problem is that the system currently owned by Yukmoco can only make purchases at one warehouse partner in one transaction. Another problem that occurs is the need to monitor orders placed by buyers. The web-based E-Commerce system was developed to solve existing problems. System development is carried out using the waterfall model, which uses an object-oriented approach. The system was developed with the PHP programming language using the Laravel framework, and the database used is a relational database using MySQL. The developed system has been tested using unit testing on the 3 main methods of the system with valid results. Integration testing is carried out on 2 related methods to produce valid test results. Validation testing was carried out on 22 functional requirements to have valid results. Compatibility testing states that the system can run well on 5 popular web browsers. The results of usability testing with the SUS method obtained a result of 79, which means the system is acceptable to users.

Abstract

Rainfall is the amount of water that falls to the surface of the ground over a certain period. The rainfall itself is recorded by the BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency) every day. According to research, rainfall is influenced by several parameters, including the temperature, the humidity of the air, the speed of the wind, and the activity of solar. In forecasting the weather, high accuracy is needed because the weather greatly affects the activities of the population. High rainfall can cause floods. Because of this problem, one solution that can solve this problem is to predict the rainfall with the backpropagation method which is one of the neural network architectures that has a multi-layer network and processes the training data forward and corrects the errors backwards. This study uses the rainfall data with parameters that influence it, namely the average temperature, the humidity of the air, the speed of the wind, and the activity of solar within 19 months from the Ahmad Yani Meteorological Station in Semarang. The best accuracy obtained with the backpropagation method is the MSE value of 0.006952 which was obtained by using 2 hidden neurons, the maximum iteration is 1000 iterations, the amount of training data is 70% of the total dataset, and the learning rate is 0.05.

Abstract

The research was motivated by the lack of understanding of the materials by the teacher to students which affected student learning outcomes. Thus, this study aims to determine whether there is an influence from the application of the problem-based learning method using the media Mentimeter on the learning outcomes of class X ULW students in understanding informatics subjects at SMKN 2 Malang. In this study used a weak experimental approach (weak experimental design). The research design used in this research is The Static Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This study used a quantitative approach with research subjects of class X ULW 3 SMKN 2 Malang as the experimental class and class X ULW 2 SMKN 2 Malang as the control class. There are differences in the learning outcomes of the experimental class and the control class of class X students of SMK Negeri 2 Malang in informatics subjects. The Independent Sample T-test shows that it is known that the calculated t value is -3.549 is 0.001 so that on this basis it can be concluded that Ho is rejected or concluded that there is a significant difference in the post-test filling by the experimental group and the control group. The average post-test using Mentimeter which is 75 which is greater than using PowerPoint media which is only 69, so there are differences in student learning outcomes using Mentimeter and student learning outcomes using Powerpoint. The learning outcomes of Informatics subjects by students at SMKN 2 Malang using the Mentimeter media are better than using Powerpoint media because students experience increased learning outcomes when learning using Mentimeter.

Abstract

The textile industry continues to significantly contribute to the growth of the non-oil and gas sector and the national economy. The increasing production in the textile industry causes pollution to the environment because the results of large volumes of liquid wastewater are discharged into waters, both rivers and ditches. According to Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), in 2020, the river water quality in Indonesia still needs improvement. To avoid this problem, the research will implement a system that can carry out monitoring to classify the status of textile wastewater. The system will use four input sensors for monitoring: a pH sensor for measuring pH, a DS18B20 sensor for measuring water temperature, an MQ135 sensor for measuring ammonia (NH3) gas, and a turbidity sensor for measuring water turbidity, which is processed on Arduino Mega 2560. The process wastewater classification uses fuzzy Mamdani logic for the decision-making process on the status of textile wastewater. The Mamdani fuzzy logic method is implemented with the Embedded Fuzzy Logic Library (eFLL) to apply fuzzification, inference, and defuzzification. The accuracy level of Mamdani's fuzzy logic is obtained by comparing the system output value of the research tool with the MATLAB output value, with an average water status accuracy of 99,67%. This result shows that the water classification process is magnificent.

Abstract

Café DITA (My Hypertension Diary; Information, Counseling, and Screening; Drug Inquiries and Consultations; Healthy Life Encouragement) is an innovation by Karangan Public Health Center to treat hypertension patients in the Karangan, Trenggalek. Cafe DITA monitors the patient's hypertension status using two documents, a register book, and a hypertension diary. Café DITA officers make monthly reports by manually determining the hypertension status and treatment status of each patient based on register books spread across 12 villages. The process of making this report takes time because it was only done by one person. Cafe DITA does not store the habits of each patient. It makes it difficult to analyze without the diary that each patient holds. Therefore this research was conducted to develop a system that can speed up the process of making reports and storing patient data at Cafe DITA. The development uses the waterfall SDLC. The system was implemented using PHP with Laravel framework. The result of unit testing and validation testing produces a 100% valid value. The efficiency test resulted in a 90,67% time decrease from testing report making of 50 patient data, so it can be concluded that making reports is faster using the system than making them manually.

Abstract

IoT and Cloud integration is undoubtedly the best way to solve most IoT problems. IoT Cloud Platform development is carried out by creating programs in a complex application which is then loaded into a virtual environment on the cloud or known as Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). The use of IaaS has common problems related to operations such as resource provisioning, monitoring, maintenance, scalability, and fault tolerance. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an IoT Cloud Platform using a cloud mechanism as Function-as-a-Service (FaaS), which is a subset of serverless computing. Its application is carried out by building an IoT cloud platform architectural design including system component design, system communication design, and Auth Services architectural design. Next, implementation is carried out from the results of the architectural design that has been made and testing is carried out starting from testing the API service and testing performance. The tests carried out resulted in all system features being valid and the results of system performance testing being able to handle 28.85 requests per second for 50 requests simultaneously and increased for 100 and 150 requests with a result of 56.37 per second for 100 requests and 82.42 requests per second for 150 requests.

Abstract

Batu is a city located in the Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Brantas. This is a main problem for the Batu City Environmental Service (DLH) because the water quality index in Batu is classified as mildly polluted. Monitoring of water quality and pollution load must be carried out as one of the efforts to control pollution, this refers to the Decree of the Minister of Environment Numbers 110 and 115 concerning Determination of Pollution Load Capacity and Determination of Water Quality Status. DLH Batu conducts water quality data collection manually and separately each period. Thus, there is a risk of data loss and difficulty of analysis. The researcher offered a solution by utilizing technology to help monitoring the quality and quantity of river water quickly and precisely in the form of mobile applications that used the Flutter framework. In this study, the model used was Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Prototyping and there were 3 system tests performed, validation testing using black box and usability using a system usability scale. The main users of this application are DLH employees in Batu and the citizens can also access the application to view reports only. The test results obtained showed that the validation test results were 100% successful, while the usability test obtained a result of 93 and was included in the acceptable predicate.

Abstract

Automatic watering are system that controlled by using type of code so that watering can be happen without human interference. In this case watering has an important role to help humans in caring for plants so that plants can grow properly, as well as the system sometimes can be failed this can make plants unable to grow properly. This failure can be reduced by implementing a fault tolerant system with hardware redundancy techniques in which the use of hardware redundancy makes a system have additional modules to minimize system failures. N-modular with spare is a hardware redundancy technique, This technique makes a system have a spare module where this module works to minimize system failure. In this system the microcontroller retrieves data from the capacitive soil moisture sensor using I2C, the data is forwarded to the voter. Voters will do majority voting where the voting results will be forwarded to the Disagreement Detector. The disagreement detector has the role of turning off the spare module, the active module and turning on the spare module. The module is deactivated when the data retrieved by the module does not match the other modules. The system can keep running as long as the module does not exceed the error limit of the system design. From the research, the system has successfully run according to the wishes of the testers and the system has been able to perform fault masking, detection and location and recovery. When the system was added using the n-modular with spare system, the reliability increased by 5.72% from 92.7% to 98.42%.
