Abstract

Fixed and improved traffic facilities continue to be done continuously, but the timing of uncompleted fixes that really only add to the existing traffic congestion will have an impact on the convenience and security of traffic users. Research has been done a lot to predict traffic density but not much focused on traffic on the highway. With fuzzy time series method optimized with Genetic Algorithm method, the writer wants to help solve the problem to predict traffic density on the highway, hopefully the result of research can help as a reference for improvement and improvement of facility in traffic do not increase congestion. Based on the results of top-level testing of predicted results using the Average Forecasting Error Rate (AFER) method, the result of the error rate of 16.66% is included in both qualification and successful.

Abstract

Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology with a lot of potentials. AR could bring a lot of advantages in many different fields such as entertainment, design or military. This technology also possibly used as a new design approach for interior design as virtual objects such as furniture displayed in a real-world environment on the screen. This study took up in an institution like public school specifically for school laboratory. This study will also add the use of Head Mounted Display (HMD) such as Google Cardboard for better user experience. The objects were designed and shown in 3D with a certain standard for public high school laboratory. Plus, the object's material can be changed through Google Cardboard's view.

Abstract

Sign language is used in the daily lives of people with hearing and speech impaired. One of the difficulties is how the deaf can inform the sign language used and can be understood by people who can hear so deaf people can communicate, interact, socialize, make friends, and dialogue occurs in everyday social. Prototype Application "PankoTuli" designed to help reduce the difficulties faced by the deaf and mute. Prototype Application "PankoTuli" this provides a method of Learning and Communications Indonesian Sign Language for the deaf and speech impaired quickly and practical for using the means of Android-based applications on smartphone devices. Applications Functional testing has been done with each of the test cases have been tested and properly, with the result declared all valid. Usability testing results obtained from satisfactory for the analysis of the application "PankoTuli" to achieve an average score of 68,32%.

Abstract

Selection of student acceptance in a college produces abundant data and can be utilized to obtain useful information for the college. In this study, student data taken by the authors are Student ID Number, University Entrance Path, Parent Revenue and Student Achievement Index. Excavation of information on a large data could not be done easily and this can be done with data mining technology. Data mining also known as Knowledge Discovery in Database is an automated process of searching data in a very large memory of data to know patterns by using tools such as association or clustering. By using k-means clustering method, the researcher tries to extract the knowledge which can depict the performance of student achievement at the end of semester and the result of the research indicates that of all cluster quantities inserted, for clusters amounting to 3 (three) has the value of silhouette coefficient closest to the value of = 1, that is with the value of 0.108690751. In addition, parental income does not affect the level of academic performance of students and the academic value of students who enter through the regular path & achievement paths have the value of the highest average GPA. Thus, the faculty can consider to prioritize the acceptance of new students through regular channels & achievement contract.

Abstract

Digital image processing is useful for fixing image quality, so it we can recognize objects and provide the information we need. The first step of digital image processing is data acquisition. This process is to get the data that we need from the image. After that is the process of segmentation by grouping the image. The final step is the selection and extracting process, from this process we can analyze and display the information that contained in the image. One of the use of digital image processing is that it can be applied to the vehicle system as automatic driver assistant. With that system we can reduce the rate of accidents caused by human factors. Automatic driver assistant driver system can also help the driver for parking, auto pilot driving, detect traffic signs and assist the driver in performing the appropriate action. In this study, the detected traffic signs was a warning sign. Warning signs have an important role to warn the dangers that drivers must be faced. One of the simplest and easiest methods to recognize images is by using the Template Matching method. This method works by matching the images taken with the template. This method has a high success rate. The results of the program success rate test in recognizing the warning signals reached 88%.

Abstract

Internet of things (IoT) can be utilized for controlling and monitoring at a particular place such as home, commonly called Smarthome. One of the protocols which is deemed appropriate for the implementation of IoT and the Smarthome is MQTT protocol that has publish/subscribe communication mechanism. In which it requires network protocols, also supporting devices such as a sensor DHT11 which will be used to read the temperature conditions in Smarthome, the LDR which is a sensor of light intensity, LED lights that will represent controlling devices in Smarthome and microcontroller which acts as an actuator. Microcontrollers used in this study is a microcontroller Wemos D1 R2 which has a module ESP8266 that supports the establishment of a wireless network. In this research, a simple prototype of Smarthome is built, where two pieces of LED lights will go on and or out based on the value of temperature and light sensor data, then controlled through the application of the control system. The application can also display temperature and light sensor data in graph form as a function of the monitoring control system. The test result showed the number of packets sent using protocol MQTT at a time affect the delta time, wherein the shorter the sending time the smaller the delta time value, and the integrity value of data which is sent and received through MQTT protocl is 100%.

Abstract

Malaria is an infectious disease that is transmitted among humans by the bites of female Anopheles mosquit. There are four types of Plasmodium that are frequently found in the case of malarial infection in Indonesia: Plasmodium vivax (Tertiana), Plasmodium malariae (Quartana), Plasmodium falcifarum (Tropica), and Plasmodium ovale (Pernisiosia). Thus far, people are having difficulty in differentiating the symptoms found in malaria and in another common cold or influenza as the laymen rely only on general knowledge without any medical facts and reviews. As a result, the patient of malaria is often mistreated. The symptoms of malaria depend on the types of malaria itself. Classic symptoms of malaria suffered by non-immune patients (patients who live in non-endemic area) are paroxysmal (sudden acute fever) preceded by chills and oversweating. On the other hand, classic symptoms of malaria suffered by immune patients are headache, nausea and vomitting, diarrhea , as well as muscle pain. Malaria is a life-threatening disease that can lead into death if not treated in an immediate manner. On that account, a computer system that can accelerate the detection is needed to help in diagnosing whether or not the patient is infected. The said system was designed using Naive Bayes method and the improvement of missing value with the usage of nearest neighbor imputation method. The verdict of the system's accurateness from two testing scenarios has been acquired with the best accuracy point of 77.14% in the first testing scenario and 64.70% in the second testing scenario.

Abstract

One of the challenges when implementing a smart home system is the interoperability with the diversity of devices and technologies that are potentially used in an intelligent home system (Lakomiak, 2017). These challenges can be overcome by applying IoT gateways to a smart home system. IoT gateway is responsible for bridging between endpoint devices such as sensors and actuators with brokers so that these devices can send information to the broker and can be controlled by the client remotely. From that problem, Eclipse developed an IoT framework called Kura. The purpose of this study is to implement Kura on the prototype of a smart home systems and test the performance provided. To know the performance of the prototype of a smart home system built is done testing the validity of the system and calculation of the response time system. From the results of the tests conducted, it was found that in the automation cycle of publishing data from the client device to the smart device until the data returned displayed on the client device within 1 second, the system successfully perform the task and display the return to the client in accordance with the data published by the client. With the average response time in one cycle is 990.8 ms which is still less than 1 second, the performance of the intelligent home system prototype using the Kura framework can be categorized well and still accepted by the client (Neil, 2009).

Abstract

Marketing Research and Customer Service Center PT. Petrokimia Gresik is a division in PT. Petrokimia Gresik and under the Department of Promotion and Marketing Planning. Marketing Research and Customer Service Centers have 4 business processes, including customer satisfaction measurement, customer complaint services, market research and market segmentation research. In running a business process, Marketing Research and Customer Service Center often does not meet the specified time targets that hinder other business processes. It need a time scale for a business process cycle to know the time it takes to reach the target activity, the data for business process interests is not well documented. So, should be done analysis and modeling business processes that are expected to provide business process recommendation for more effective, efficient, adaptive. This study uses the Business Process Improvement Framework from phase 1: organizing improvements to phase 3: streamlining. From the business process conducted by the simulation result, which is the average time difference in the business process of the measurement of customer satisfaction 9 days 9 hours 54 minutes 43 seconds. Then all token targets are met on the business process recommendations. So, can be concluded that business processes recommendation are more efficient than the current business processes on the Marketing Research Division and Customer Service Center PT. Petrokimia Gresik.

Abstract

For students who study in Universitas Brawijaya they can live in Malang city by various ways that is by buying a house in Malang, living in dormitory, house contract or boarding area around Universitas Brawijaya. Kost is a solution for students who study in Malang as a place to live. But with the number of kost around UB Brawijaya sometimes students will often move the boarding place for several reasons namely the increasingly expensive rental, the convenience of boarding place, the location of boarding away from the University, where the boarding away from where to eat or layout Which is away from the main road. So to cope with this, it is necessary to select the most suitable boarding place. In choosing this boarding place can use the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) to get a good boarding place. From the tests that have been done that the number of criteria is very influential in the ranking results. The highest percentage of matches against 7 criteria were 6 criteria with 8.831% then 5 criteria with 7.999%, 4 criteria with 4.761%, 3 criteria with 3.58%, 2 criteria and 1 criterion with 0%. The tests show that many of the criteria used influence the recommended boarding outcomes based on the number of criteria used.
