Abstract

The phenomenon of sexual violence against children shows an increase trend from year to year so it requires special handling to not cause psychological trauma that might affect their future. This was the reason behind the establishment of the Protection of Women and Children Unit by the government to handle cases relate to sexual violence which one of it is against children. By using a narrative qualitative approach, this research is conducted at the UPTD PPA Citra Tepian in Samarinda City to analyse the children trauma healing process psychologists must go through therapeutic communication which divided into 4 stages; namely pre-interaction, orientation, problem solving, and termination to get maximum results. This is very important fully help restoring a sense of security within the victim so that it will be easier for the child victim to re-enter and re-interact with their social environment. Therapeutic communication that emphasizes the interpersonal approach carried out by accompanying psychologists is believed to be an important key that determines the success of the 'trauma healing' process. However, it is necessary to pay more attention to the aspects of ethnicity, race, economy and culture of the victims so that the process can be more effective and efficient in the future

Abstract

Physical restrictions imposed during the pandemic stopped all concert activities, but @ykvvknd kept interacting with their followers. This study uses qualitative descriptive research method, where researchers collect data through field study techniques (interviews, observations, and document collection). These three data were collected through interviews. Our informant is the owner and manager of @ykvvknd content. Observations were made in the comment column for each @ykwknd content and document collection from articles in mass media. Authentic engagement is the only proven way for Instagram account managers to understand Gen Z, listen to them, and start forming relationships. Two-way communication among opinion leaders in their circle of friends is based on a high level of trust in opinion leaders.

Abstract

The book of Managing Millennials as a whole is not arranged like a textbook that is heavy to read and study. The sentences arranged in it seem straightforward and effective and encourage readers persuasively to be able to understand millennials from a different point of view. The adaptation tips and recipes presented also have the impression of being very practical and easy to implement in a corporate and organizational environment.In the present, this book is still very relevant because millennials still dominate the employment today. In addition, the generation after millennials, namely those born above 2000, the way of handling is also still relatively the same as millennials themselves. So that managers and leaders of the organization are still recommended to read this book.The author of this book who is a military veteran but has an MBA education background, and has experience as a consultant in various companies in which there are elements of the millennial generation, tends to choose sentences with a predominance of command words that arouse the spirit of the reader. So for readers who come from among practitioners, this book is very suitable and light enough to be read repeatedly before being practiced to the real world. But for readers from academics, this book can be a short and concise reference alternative for teaching or for students who are doing research.

Abstract

Development has changed indigenous people's cultural structure and function, which is identical to a traditional lifestyle to the modern one, encouraging livelihood diversification or transformation. The development approach is vulnerable to socio-cultural, economic, and environmental changes, including in the mining and tourism sector. This article aims to describe the development process that has caused changes in the structure and function of indigenous culture and rural livelihoods in Northern Maluku, Indonesia. This study was done qualitatively using a case study approach to describe the livelihood strategies of indigenous people to cope with the existence of the mining and tourism industry’s activity in the North Halmahera Regency. The key informants involved in this research are traditional leaders, community leaders, and youth. Data collection is adjusted to the context of the research location, both around tourist destinations and mining areas. Data processing uses a triangulation approach. These findings indicate that the traditional community of Hibualamo had cultural structures and functions that mobilised access to social and natural capital. Furthermore, The challenges of globalisation cause a livelihood transformation and influence the capability of local communities to access financial capital, human capital, and physical capital.

Local Government Involvement in Participatory Development on Simpor Applications as Monitoring Media for Physical Development in East Belitung Regency Elva Yuriati; Sakir Sakir

Abstract

This study aims to determine the involvement of local government in participatory development through the Participatory Development Monitoring System Application (SIMPOR) in East Belitung Regency. The local government in this case is the OPD and the village government within the East Belitung Regency Government. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were obtained through interviews and literature study where the interview results were analyzed using Nvivo 12Plus software through the crosstab query feature. The results of the study show that: 1) the creation of the Simpor Application as a participatory development monitoring medium in East Belitung Regency has fulfilled the basics of developing government digitization; 2) the involvement of the village government in the Simpor Application, namely as community representatives who monitor and report development progress, especially by the village simpor admin; 3) the leading sector (Ekbang) as a third party acts as a verifier that bridges the village government with the OPD; 4) each OPD inputs information related to the development package and responses related to monitoring carried out by the village government into the Simpor application. The conclusion is that there is local government involvement in participatory development through the Simpor Application as an e-monev medium for physical development in the form of two-way monitoring that occurs in the monitoring process on the Simpor Application. In addition, there are several obstacles encountered in the implementation process of the Simpor Application, namely: 1) the development of the Simpor Application is still slow; and 2) the implementing human resources are still limited. Suggestions for the government of East Belitung Regency to expand involvement in the Simpor Application include: 1) the leading sector, in this case through the village government, it is better to start providing education or introduction of the Simpor Application to the community gradually; 2) the leading sector should recruit special human resources who have basic IT to develop Simpor Applications so that the performance provided is more optimal; and 3) the leading sector should increase the human resources of operators in charge of verification.

Abstract

The defense industry is part of the pillars of empowering the state's defense posture, especially in times of peace. Tactical vehicles are part of the defense industry which is an industry downstream. In this research, we analyzed the position of the tactical vehicle industry on the part of national defense empowerment. The concept of national defense explains the defense and threat spectrum. The logistics concept provides a framework analysis of the national defense empowerment and military operations. The first analysis is the industry of tactical vehicles in legal aspect is part of national defense posture. On strategic logistic levels, this industry plays a role in meeting the needs of national defense empowerment requirements in tactical vehicles. The last, tactical logistics levels play the role as the main or support power in the military operations of TNI.

Abstract

The political engagement of individuals has complexly evolved in a borderless world brought by various developments in technology. This study revisits how various predictors, including personality traits such as extraversion and openness to experience, political efficacy, and online (FB) engagement, influence offline political engagements. Using quantitative techniques, the data gathered from a survey with 120 respondents in Cebu City, Philippines, was analyzed using the R software to generate descriptive statistics, correlation, simple linear regression, and multiple regression. A salient finding shows that the respondents’ level of extraversion, openness to experience, and political efficacy is high, while the level of political engagement is low online and offline. While online (FB) political engagement alone highly predicts offline political engagement behavior, all other independent variables (extraversion, openness to experience, and political efficacy) modeled as one attributes a very low effect towards offline political engagement. The model that includes all predictors have produced significant result that strongly supports this study’s central claim. Further, the study discussed the non-engagement of Cebuanos and commenced with suggestions on how Facebook (FB) can further influence an individual’s political engagements as a social media platform. While the publics’ engagements on political issues are vital to democratic societies, the study stressed social media's crucial influence on safeguarding democracies, human rights, and social justice.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the psychological and social effects of social media upon students at higher learning institutions in Malaysia and The United Kingdom.The study is done via qualitative approach as this study focuses on a case study to acquire unique experience by the participants.Three students are from Malaysia with and the remaining two are from England with different educational degree backgrounds.The participants mention the effects, the factors causing them and the suggestions to avoid or reduce the impacts.The finding elucidates the positive psychological effects include stimulating their study and relieving stress whereas the adverse impacts are procrastination, addiction and low self-esteem.The positive social effects mentioned by participants are student-student bonding as well as sharing of beneficial contents.The negative social effects are misinformation, cyberbullying, morality issues including pornography and cybercrimes, and poor physical interactions. The interviewees suggested that the factors that cause the negative impacts of social media were due to lockdown, peer pressure, perfectionism, procrastination and unethical usage of the online communication platforms.The research concludes with the suggestions by interviewees to impede the influence of social media in which they are parallel with previous findings of other researches such as limiting time for social media and encouraging face-to-face interaction instead.However, there are also additional inputs that are exclusively acquired due to COVID-19 and this will be elaborated further in this paper
