Abstract

This research aims to: Find out the level of students and communities environmental knowledge towards river ecosystem based local wisdom (in)* lubuk larangan (part of the river which the fishes cannot be taken until the certain time)* basedon the level of education; Determine the level of environmental knowledge of students and communities towards river ecosystem based local wisdom lubuk larangan. The research used a quantitative descriptive research. The research sample as many as 158 students and 50 communities who live in Tambangan village Tambangan District, Madina Regency. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire. Data analysis technique used Friedman-test. The final conclusion of the research: The level of education and location of the school influenced the level of knowledge about the environment of students based on local wisdom lubuk larangan basedon the level of education. The average of adult’s knowledge was higher than High School, Junior High and Elementary School students.

Abstract

The students’ learning results in Biology are influenced by two factors, namely internal and external factors. The internal factors that can influence learning results are learning style, learning independence, and learning interest. The research aims to discover the relation of  learning style, learning independence and learning interest with Biology learning results of the students at SMAN 1 Tonra in Bone District.The research is ex post facto. The population of the research were the students of class IPA at SMAN 1 Tonra in Bone District of academic year 2016/2017. The samples were 194 students taken by using stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected by employing questionnaire and documentation. The data of the research were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics techniques. The results of the research reveal that (i) the students’ learning style tends to be in visual type, (ii) the students’ learning independence is in high category, (iii) the students’ learning interest is in high category, (iv) the students’ Biology learning results is in high category, (v) there is strong relation between learning style and the students’ Biology learning results, (vi) there is fairly strong relation between learning independence and the students’ Biology learning results, (vii) there is strong relation between learning interest and the students’ Biology learning results, and (viii) there is very strong relation between learning style, learning independence, and learning interest toword Biology learning results of the students at SMAN 1 Tonra in Bone District.

Abstract

The research was aim to know: (1) influence of blended learning based  edmodo on learning outcome; (2) influence of blended learning based  edmodo on retention; (3) influence of motivation on learning outcome; (4) influence of motivation on retention; (5) interaction between blended learning based edmodo and motivation on learning outcome; (6) interaction of blended learning based edmodo and motivation on retention in grade VIII at SMP N 5 Medan. The research was quasy experiment. The analyze data technique were using ANAVA two ways with significance 0.05. the result revealed that: (1) there was influence of blended learning based edmodo on learning outcome (F = 86.668; P = 0.000); (2) there was influence of blended learning based edmodo on retention (F = 35.476; P = 0.000); (3) there was influence motivation on learning outcome (F = 37.597; P = 0.000); (4) there was motivation on retention (F = 13.004; P = 0.000); (5) there was interaction of blended learning based edmodo and motivation on learning outcome (F = 4.942; P = 0.003) and (6) there was interaction of blended learning based edmodo and motivation on retention in grade VIII in SMP N 5 Medan (F = 2.946; P = 0.031).

Abstract

The aimed of this research was to know level of scientific literacy of Animalia Kingdom on senior high school biology book at grade X in Deliserdang. The method of this research was descriptive quantitative by analyzing 7 the Biology Books from different publisher for grade X on animalia Kingdom topic. Books was assessed by researcher. Researcher assessed Animalia Kingdom on Senior High School biology books at grade X in Deliserdang based of scale questioner Animalia Kingdom on Senior High School biology books grade X with science of the body of knowladge, science as a way of investigating, science as a way of thinking, and interaction science, technology, and society. Result of this research shown that  persentage of thema science as a body of knowledge was 21,86%, persentage of science as a way of investigating was 15,27%, persentage of science as a way of thinking was 11,91%, and persentage of interaction science, technology, and society was 10,36%. It can be concluded that percentage of scientific literacy of Animalia Kingdom on Senior High School biology books at grade X in Deliserdang was 59,42% (not yet scientific literacy).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning media animation, torso, and the image and initial knowledge of students on student learning outcomes on the material digestion system of human food class XI in Private High School Hang Tuah Belawan. The type of research used is quasi experiment with research pretest-postest control group design. Samples were selected using cluster sampling techniques and divided into experimental and conventional classes. In class XI IPA1 applied animation media, class XI IPA2was applied torso media, and class XI IPA3 applied conventional media. Multiple-choice questions are used to measure learning outcomes, while critical thinking skills are essay-based. Data analysis technique using Covarian Analysis (Anacova) at significant level α= 0,05 and continued with Tukey test with SPSS 21.0 software. The results showed that: (1) There is influence of animation media to student learning outcomes (F= 4,266; P= 0.017). Students who were taught by animation media were significantly different from the students who were taught by the image media, but not significantly different from those taught by torso media; and (2) There is influence of students early knowledge to result of student learning (F= 3,662; P= 0,011). Students with high initial ability who were taught by animation media, torso and gambart did not differ significantly with students who had low initial ability that was taught by torso animation media and images. Students who have high initial ability that dibelajarkan with media animation, torso and images significantly higher than students who have low initial ability that dibelajarkan with animation media, torso and gambar.Hasil research shows that learning using animation media and early knowledge is better in giving influence to learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to : (1) Determine the Level of Intelligence Ecological high school students based Local Wisdom in Utilizing And Preserving Forests Mangrove in the village of Jaring Halus of Sicanggang District Langkat;(2) Knowing Bioethics taught by Biology Teacher on high school students in Utilizing And Preserving mangrove forest in the village of Fine Jaring District of Sicanggang Langkat;(3) Knowing the Family Education taught parents to their children who are in the Village District of Jaring Fine Sicanggang Langka;(4) Knowing how students learn in Utilizing Local Wisdom and Preserving mangrove forest in the village of Fine Jaring District of Sicanggang Langkat . The approach used is a descriptive study non hypotheses using survey approach ( surveying Method). The research sample of 30 high school students who reside in the village of Jaring Fine Sicanggang District of Langkat . instrument used in this study is a test, questionnaire , interview and observation . Data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis with percentages . The final conclusion;(1) Ecological Intelligence Level High School Students Based Local Wisdom on average relatively good with an average score of ecological intelligence level of 22.5 % of high school students;(2) the ability of high school students Against Ecological Intelligence Bioethics Teachers Taught average quite well with the mean the ability of high school students average score of 50.7 %;(3) Family Education Level Taught His parents People Against the average is quite good with an average score of level of education was 35.8 % ;(4) knowledge in ecological intelligence level of high school students based on local wisdom on average relatively good with an average score of knowledge amounting to 25.56 % of high school students.

Abstract

Dialogue of teacher in spesific lesson (MGMP) is a forum for develop of environment teacher in specific lesson and as a place to make same perceftion for somethting that has correlation with learning process especially for one lesson. The aim of this activity had been done by tim of PKM in MGMP to make media from used media was given knowledge to the biology’s teachers in MGMP at the level of senior high school in Aceh Tamiang. The method in this activity was descriptif qualitative. The sample in this activity was 30 participants that consist of teachers through biology MGMP at level of senior high school in Aceh Tamiang. The result of this activity from the questoner was share for biology’s teachers and got the result 75% that answered “Agree” to continue this activity used in learning process. So, it can conclude that this activity got good respond to continue the knowledge in learning process at school.

Abstract

This study was intended to: (1) identify the development of learning media procedure nervous system with Adobe Flash CS3 for XI grade high school student; (2) figure up the student’s responds to learning media development of nervous system with Adobe Flash CS3 for XI grade high school student. This study was classified as Borg & Gall model development that included to 6 steps (1) Information collection; (2) Designing; (3) pre-product development; (4) expert validation; (5) revision; (6) post product testing. The subject of this research was XI grade high school student of SMA N 1 Rantau Selatan LabuhanBatu at 2012/2013 academic year. This study was designed by questionnaire method (Linkert scale) that administered for testing to two media experts, two matter experts, three personals, 9 small groups, and 30 bounded field. The collected data was analyzed by applying descriptive analysis, qualitative analysis and   inferential analysis by employing SPSS version software 19.0 for Windows. The analysis revealed the test by (1) learning media experts (89%); (2) learning biology matter expert (83%); (3) personal (83%); (4) small groups (91%); (5) bounded field (94%). The scores indicate that responses from media experts, matter experts and student to biology learning media development with Adobe Flash CS 3 for nervous system for high school student is very good categorized.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar (tinggi dan rendah) , kemampuan berpikir kritis (tinggi dan rendah) mahasiswa antara yang menggunakan  model pembelajaran  problem solving  dan pembelajaran langsung berbantuan media camtasia dengan video pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan  metode eksperimen dengan  populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester VI  Universitas Muhammadiyah Tapanuli Selatan Tahun Pelajaran 20 sampel penelitian sebanyak 2 kelas yang ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling yaitu 1) Kelas yang dibelajarkan dengan metode pembelajaran langsung, 2) Kelas yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaranan Problem Solving. Instrumen  penelitian  menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis sebanyak 15 soal,  tes hasil belajar  sebanyak 25 soal dalam bentuk pilihan berganda yang telah di uji validitas, reliabilitas, daya beda. Teknik analisis menggunakan uji-T. Dari hasil analisis data  dan pengujian hipotesis dapat diketahui bahwa : 1) Hasil belajar mahasiswa yang dibelajarkan dengan perlakuan metode langsung dan video pembelajaran secara signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar perlakuan yang lain. 2) Kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dengan perlakuan metode langsung dan video pembelajaran secara signifikan lebih tinggi dbandingkan dengan hasil belajar perlakuan yang lain. Media pembelajaran sebagai pengantar pesan yang terbaik adalah video pembelajaran karena dapat media ini temasuk pada media audio visual yang dapat merangsang pendengaran dan penglihatan dan mahasiswa lebih efektif dalam  memahami langkah – langkah pembuatan media tumbuh secara langsung. Sebagai tindak lanjut dari hasil penelitian ini diharapkan kepada guru untuk dapat menerapkan video pembelajaran dalam proses pembelajaran langsung maupun problem solving dalam upaya meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan menumbuh kembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sehingga mahasiswa dapat memperoleh hasil belajar yang maksimal.

Abstract

This study aim to generate a decent textbook to use, easy to learn and can be used for leaners individual learning which produce teaching materials based on guided discovery. This research is the development of a research model product development Borg and Gall combined with a model of Dick and Carey instructional design. The research method consisted of: (1) validation of subject matter experts; (2) validation of expert instructional design; (3) validation of biology teacher; (4) individual trial; (5) small group testing; (6) limited field trials. Test subjects consisted of two subject matter experts biology, one expert instructional design, three students for individual trials, nine students to test small group and 38 students to a limited field test. Value about the quality of the product development is collected by questionnaire and analyzed with quantitative analysis techniques descriptive. The result showed: (1) subject matter experts are very well qualifications (90,14%); (2) test of instructional design experts are very well qualifications (88,06%); (3) biology teachers are in very well qualifications (93%); (4) individual trials are in well qualifications (91,07%); (5) small group trials are in very well qualifications (90,67%); (6) limited group trial in very good qualifications (87,55%).
