Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension in 2015 was 34.1%, and in 2018 it increased by 34.1%. Hypertension was caused by an increase in blood pressure. Prevention of hypertension can be done by nonpharmacological treatment with cupping therapy. This study aimed to determine the effect of cupping therapy to decrease blood pressure of patients with hypertension at Ibnu Sina clinic Palembang. The quantitative pre-experimental research with a one-group pretest-posttest design approach. The sample of this study was 45 patients with hypertension. The study was done at the Ibnu Sina clinic on the 20th –30th of June 2021. The results showed that the systolic blood pressure before cupping therapy was 153.20 mmHg and the average diastolic blood pressure was 98.60 mmHg. In contrast, after cupping therapy, the results showed that the mean systolic blood pressure was 98 .60 mmHg and the mean diastolic pressure was 91.20 mmHg. Based on the statistical test, it was found that the p-value was 0.000. it means that systolic blood pressure was affected before and after cupping therapy. It is hoped that the results of this study can improve services for patients with hypertension-related to cupping therapy in lowering blood pressure and can provide knowledge for therapists about the effect of cupping therapy on decreasing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. The sample was 18 respondents who were postoperative appendectomy patients at the AR Bunda Prabumulih Hospital. This research was conducted in 2021. The observation sheet was used to collect the data. The research data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. Based on the results of data analysis with the Wilcoxon test, it showed a significant effect between the average pain scale before and after giving back massage with a p-value of 0.000 < (0.05) Ha accepted. In other words, it can be concluded that there was an effect of back massage on the pain scale in postoperative appendectomy patients at the AR Bunda Prabumulih Hospital. Based on this research, it is recommended for health practitioners to apply nonpharmacological therapy techniques and pharmacological treatment; one of those techniques is back massage, which effectively reduces pain scale.

Abstract

Herbs have been used as a form of traditional medicine since ancient times. Licorice is one of the herbs that has long been used as medicine. This plant contains different plant compounds, such as glycyrrhizin, 18β‐glycyrrhetinic acid, glabrins A and B, and isoflavones, showing various pharmacological activities. Pharmacological experiments have shown that different extracts and pure compounds of this species exhibit broad biological properties, including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antioxidant, and antidiabetic activities. This systematic review aims to determine the effectiveness of herbal medicine from licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.) to prevent and treat H1N1, H5N1, and COVID-19 virus infections from various previous research results. This research is a systematic review using the PRISMA method. A total of 8 articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were continued for analysis. A total of 8 articles discuss the effectiveness of licorice on the H1N1, H5N1, and COVID-19 viruses. The articles used include articles published in national journals and international journals. The results showed that 1) Licorice root is effectively used for the prevention and treatment of H1N1, H5N1, and COVID-19 virus infections, 2) Glycyrrhizic acid (GA) is the main compound for the development of potential anti-influenza virus agents. Overall, it can be concluded that licorice and some of its derivatives have the potential as anti-influenza agents for H1N1, H5N1, and COVID-19.

Abstract

Hypertension is a disease characterized by an increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 140mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of more than 90 mmHg. Hypertension is called the “silent killer” because it does not directly kill the sufferer but triggers other diseases such as heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure. This study aims to determine the rationale for using antihypertensive drugs in geriatric hypertensive patients, including the right indication, the right dose, the right drug, and the right patient at the Annisa Pratama Clinic Semarang. The type of research used is descriptive non-experimental, with retrospective data collection in the form of patient medical record data; as many as 45 patients were taken as samples were analyzed based on the standard of therapy used, namely The Eight Joint National Committee (JNC VIII). The results showed that the characteristics of most respondents were at the age of 45-54, namely 25 people (55,6%), and the most respondents with stage 2 hypertension were 40 people (88,9%). The rationale for using antihypertensive drugs at the Annisa Pratama Clinic Semarang is 100% correct indication, 91,1% correct dose, 91,1% correct drugs, and 100% correct patient. The use of antihypertensive drugs in geriatric patients is appropriate according to the standard of therapy used based on JNC VIII.

Abstract

Factors that enhance women's experience in health care during the perinatal period are providing opportunities to develop interrelated relationships with professional health care. The services provided are high-quality information for women, families, and health professionals. Collaborative practice can also reduce complications, hospital care, health team conflicts, and mortality rates. General patients report higher satisfaction, better service, and better health outcomes. In the health sector, collaborative practice can improve patient and health team satisfaction, reduce the duration of care, reduce maintenance costs, reduce the incidence of self-defense, and reduce outpatient visits. Objective: The literature of this review is to summarize collaborative care for perinatal mental health. Method: This study is a journal publication with a literature summary, and article search using comparative studies of computerized databases (PubMed and BMC). Results: In improving mental health care services Collaboration between health care institutions, general practitioners, and mental health professional services is needed. Access to mental health care is inadequate, this is because perinatal health care providers are not sufficient to make initial preparations, referrals, complaints about aspects of maternal emotional care, and psychological services only benefit a portion of the population. Conclusion: The main problem of this collaboration is the knowledge of doctors and general nurses on perinatal maternal mental health problems, poor supervision systems, inadequate information systems, and clinical technology. Collaboration between professionals in the health and health sector as well as adequate health program policy support, as well as increasing shared awareness will improve mental health for mothers in the perinatal period.

Abstract

Information about immunizations delivered by health workers to the baby's mother is not optimal because of rejection from the community. Hence, it impacts the coverage of immunization visits which is low, and increases the incidence of morbidity and mortality in infants. Therefore, through community empowerment, namely the use of local role models, the hope will be to impact the community to be aware and willing to bring their children to the immunization service post. To determine the effect of using a local role model on the completeness of the primary immunization visit status of DPT-HB in mothers of infants aged 2-3 months. Randomized controlled trial design in four Palangka Raya City Health Centers in December 2018 - February 2019 in 80 districts divided into two groups (40 pairs of mothers and babies use local role models, and 40 pairs of mothers and infants use immunization officers) with inclusion criteria for mothers of infants aged 2-3 months or more who live in the study area and have not been immunized against DPT-HB. A local role model is a mother who has experience completing three series of DPT-HB immunizations for her baby. Data analysis in this study used univariable, bivariable, and multivariable. Statistical tests showed that the use of local role models had an effect (p = 0.012) of 70% on the completeness of the primary immunization visit status of DPT-HB, Another factor that influences the entirety of DPT-HB primary immunization visit status is access to information sources (p = 0.022). The use of local role models proved to have a significant effect on the completeness of the primary immunization visit status of DPT-HB.
