It is published by Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan Institut Agama Islam Negeri Kendari (Faculty of Education and Teaching, IAIN Kendari). This journal is for professionals, academics, researchers, and scholars whose empirical work focuses on curriculum, teaching methodology, learning activity, teaching media, learning approaches, learning achievement, character education, evaluation in education and the relationship between Islam and education. Authors are welcomed to submit their manuscripts for publication. Al-Tadib: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu Kependidikan publishes articles on education in any area of study twice a year, every June and December. This journal charges no fees for publication.

Abstract

The objectives of this development research are to produce video media for learning biology material for Covid-19 and synthesize the results of the validation of the Covid-19 biology learning video media as an alternative to increase students' basic competencies. The subject of this research is the biology teachers of class X at Kota Kendari. The results of the research shows that learning video media production went through seven stages, i.e., 1) analysis of potential and problems related to infrastructure at the research location; 2) data collection of scientific articles and modules; 3) product design; 4) validation of material designs by experts; 5) design improvements with consideration of advice from experts; 6) media product trial by teachers; and, 7) revision of media products with consideration from the teachers. The results of the validation of the learning video media are categorized as feasible. Therefore, the learning video media was potential to be developed as alternative media to foster the students’ basic competence of viral material.Keywords: Alternative media; basic competence; biology; Covid-19; learning video media.

Abstract

This case study research aims to explore the psychological impact of online learning on teachers, students, and parents through observation and interviews with teachers, students and parents in elementary schools. The findings of the study reveal that online learning impacted teachers because they worked beyond the allotted time, they could not recognize students well, they had difficulty in monitoring students’ learning processes, and they found it difficult to determine student learning outcomes. The students’ discipline level lessened because the school hours are different from before the pandemic and their learning motivation decreased. As for the parents, online learning added to the burden in terms of costs, time and thoughts.Keywords: Online learning; pandemic period; psychological impact

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative study aims to investigate the implementation of digital literacy during Covid-19 through Sapulidi program at one of high schools in Southeast Sulawesi. Data were garnered through observation, interviews, and documentation from the principal, the head of school literacy team, and members of the Sapulidi team. The findings show that the implementation of digital literacy at the school was carried out in three stages: a) increasing the capacity of facilitators through training for school residents, b) increasing the number and variety of learning resources through the provision of QR code-based digital books on library websites and the use of learning applications, and c) providing computer and internet access in schools and providing digital information through school websites, libraries, and QR codes in the school environment. The forms of QR codes used in the Sapulidi program include the use of in learning, on school plants, on trophy displays, in students' works at school, school literacy galleries, in literacy corners in classroom, and in digital books.KEYWORDS: Covid-19; digital literacy program; high school; QR code

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to examine the portraits of early reading learning, the application of early reading learning by using PowerPoint animation media, and the use of this media in improving students' early reading skills at one of elementary school at Wawonii Tenggara, Southeast Sulawesi. The results of qualitative analysis showed that the form of learning to early reading at the school was conducted in a simple way i.e. by writing letters of the alphabet on the blackboard and pronouncing the letters aloud together. The activities of teachers and students in learning have shown a good increase from cycle to cycle. Teachers find it easier to manage classes, direct students, and focus students on learning, meanwhile students seem more confident to ask questions and make presentations in front of the class. The use of PowerPoint animated image media has been proven to be able to help students improve their beginning reading skills.Keywords: Beginning reading; powerpoint animation media; elementary school

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research aims to determine the professional competence of Islamic religious education teachers and the implications of certification in improving their professionalism. Data was collected through observation and interviews using snowball and purposive sampling. The results of qualitative data analysis indicate that Islamic religious education teachers have implemented materials, structures, concepts and some relevant knowledge related to Islamic education in schools. They also possess the competence in designing and applying knowledge in the context of learning and mastering basic competencies based on their knowledge for curriculum development. Teachers have social, professional, pedagogical and digital literacy competencies for everyday learning. Abstract

This qualitative research aims to educate and provide information to the public about the role of educational institutions in environmental care. This can be achieved by influencing people’s behavior to engage in environmental management through education in the school environment. Schools can implement programs or rules that teach students about environmental management and ensure that each student carries out and obeys the rules positively and responsibly. This research was conducted in SMAN 4 Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. This school is one of the schools with an environmental vision that has been established based on government decisions. Data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that school policy in maintaining the ethical values of environmental care is done through strengthening school rules to ensure that each student is involved in managing the school environment, managing school facilities and services oriented towards environmental management, and strengthening and assisting students’ extracurricular programs in environmental management. With the approach undertaken by the school, it is expected to realize a healthy and comfortable environment and become a model in creating an eco-friendly environment school. Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk membahas kurikulum pendidikan Al-Quran di pondok pesantren (PP) Al-Husain. Artikel ini menggunakan metode kualitatif bersifat deskriptif penelitian lapangan dan dengan pendekatan fenomenologis. Metode pengumpulan data pada artikel ini menggunakan wawancara semitersetruktur dan observasi nonpartisipatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan alasan pendidikan Al-Quran menjadi kurikulum utama di PP Al Husain dipengaruhi oleh pendirinya. PP Al Husain dikembangkan dengan penuh kesadaran bahwa Al-Quran merupakan sumber utama pada ranah pengetahuan, kesadaran religious, aspek perbaikan moral dan spiritual. Kurikulum pendidikan Al-Quran yang ditawarkan di PP Al Husain, mencakup 4 (empat) program, yaitu metode Yanbu’a sebagai proses mengenal huruf hijaiyah dan magorijulhuruf, Juz ‘Amma Bil Hifdzi sebagai  program santri agar terbiasa dalam menghafal dan membaca ayat Al-Quran dengan baik dan benar, Al Quran Bin Nadzri sebagai program membaca Al Quran 30 juz agar santri memiliki kualitas membaca Al-Quran dengan baik sehingga santri siap dalam menempuh program berikutnya, dan) Al Quran Bil Hifdzi yaitu program hafalan Al-Quran 30 Juz guna melahirkan generasi penghafal Al-Quran yang selalu melestarikan ajaran Islam, terlebih dengan ikhtiar dalam rangka mencapai rido Allah SWT.Kata Kunci: Kurikulum; Pondok Pesantren; Pendidikan Al-Quran

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi upaya salah satu perguruan tinggi Islam di Sulawesi Tenggara dalam membangun kesadaran antikorupsi di kalangan mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) serta menggali persepsi mereka terhadap upaya kampus dalam meningkatkan pendidikan antikorupsi. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif menggunakan dokumentasi dan wawancara yang dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya program studi PAI dalam membangun kesadaran antikorupsi di kalangan mahasiswa telah dilaksanakan dan dalam tahap pengembangan. Upaya dosen pembina mata kuliah dalam membangun kesadaran antikorupsi dilakukan melalui active learning dan diskusi kelompok dengan mengangkat isu tentang antikorupsi yang sedang ramai diperbincangkan sehingga mahasiswa mampu menganalisis dan menemukan nilai-nilai perilaku antikorupsi yang dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Abstract

This survey research aims to determine (1) the impact of academic supervision by school inspectors on teacher professionalism, (2) the influence of academic supervision by school inspectors on the quality of education, (3) the effect of teacher professionalism on the quality of education, and (4) the combined influence of academic supervision by school inspectors and teacher professionalism on the quality of education in elementary schools in Kendari City. The study focused on a sample of 27 elementary school teachers in Kendari City. The research instrument was a questionnaire that has been validated and proven reliable. The data analysis techniques included descriptive and inferential analysis. The results of this study found that: 1) Academic supervision by school inspectors has no significant partial effect on teacher professionalism, (2) Academic supervision by school inspectors directly affects the quality of elementary education in Kendari City, (3) Teacher professionalism significantly impacts the quality of elementary education in Kendari City, and (4) academic supervision by school inspectors and teacher professionalism together influence the quality of elementary education in Kendari City by 36.1%, while the remaining 63.9% is influenced or explained by other factors not discussed in this study.Keywords: Academic supervision of school supervisors, teacher professionalism, education quality
