Al-Tadib: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu Kependidikan is a forum publishing original articles related to research-based education or Islamic education. It is published by Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan Institut Agama Islam Negeri Kendari (Faculty of Education and Teaching, IAIN Kendari). This journal is for professionals, academics, researchers, and scholars whose empirical work focuses on curriculum, teaching methodology, learning activity, teaching media, learning approaches, learning achievement, character education, evaluation in education and the relationship between Islam and education. Authors are welcomed to submit their manuscripts for publication. Al-Tadib: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu Kependidikan publishes articles on education in any area of study twice a year, every June and December. This journal charges no fees for publication.

Abstract

This qualitative study aims to examine the planning, procurement, distribution, inventory and maintenance of educational facilities and infrastructure at a vocational high school of an Islamic boarding school in Kendari. Data were gathered through observation, interview and documentation methods. The results of data analysis indicate that the school facilities and infrastructure management comprises of planning which is adjusted to the needs, procurement from various funding, and keeping inventory books. The findings also reveal that the distribution and use of facilities and infrastructure is managed by the school principal and teachers, while the maintenance is carried out routinely by having a daily maintenance by the students and periodic maintenance by technicians and those in charge of the laboratory.Keywords: Islamic boarding school; facilities and infrastructure; management; vocational high school

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk manajemen pengelolaan lembaga pendidikan di salah satu madrasah aliyah di Kota Kendari dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa bentuk perencanaan yang dilaksanakan sekolah ini dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa  dengan melibatkan seluruh stakeholde mulai dari kepala madrasah, wakil kepala madrasah, guru, dan tenaga kependidikan. Bentuk perencanaan tersebut disusun dalam 3 program utama yaitu kurikuler, ekstrakulikuler, dan bording school. Bentuk pengorganisasian di sekolah ini melalui penyediaan sarana dan prasarana yang memadai, peningkatan kompetensi tenaga pendidik melalui berbagai kegiatan workshop, pelatihan, dan lain-lain, serta pemberian peluang kepada siswa untuk mengikuti berbagai kegiatan baik akademik dan non-akademik. Peningkatan kompetensi siswa dilakukan secara disiplin dan konsisten melalui 3 program utama, yaitu pembelajaran formal (kurikuler), kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan kegiatan keasramaan. Pengawasan dilaksanakan secara kontinu oleh kepala madrasah, wakil kepala madrasah, dan penanggungjaawab kegiatan sebagai tim kontrol. Selain itu, reward dan punishman juga diberlakukan.

Abstract

This case study research aims to determine human resource management in the development of teacher quality in one of the Islamic senior high school in South Sulawesi. Data was collected using observation, interviews and documentation. Sources of data in this study included the head of the madrasah, deputy head of the madrasah curriculum section, and teachers. The results of data analysis show that in developing teacher quality, madrasah heads do it in four ways, namely providing motivation, encouraging teachers to attend seminars, involving teachers in Subject Teacher Consultation (MGMP) activities, and involving teachers in education and training activities. Regarding teacher quality, there are four competencies that an educator must have that can support the quality of a teacher, namely pedagogic competence, personal competence, social competence and student professional competence.

Abstract

This qualitative study aimed to explore students’ experience on task repetition in collaborative online writing of video-based task. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews of fifteen English students in the third semester at an Islamic higher institution in Southeast Sulawesi who have carried out task repetition in collaborative online writing of video-based task. The researcher conducted a semi-structured interview by telephone and the interview process was recorded to make it easier for the researcher to transcribe the results of the interviews. Using thematic analysis, the finding revealed that most of the participants tend to have positive experience when carrying out task repetition in collaborative online writing of video-based task. Moreover, numerous challenges faced by students in doing task repetition were also presented in the finding of this study.

Abstract

In the view of Islam, one of the obligations that must be fulfilled by every Muslim is prayer. In order to be able to do it continuously every day, it takes discipline and habit. This study aims to describe the values of Islamic education in the hadiths regarding the permissibility of bringing children to the mosque. This research is a qualitative research library research by collecting data from books, journals and writings that are considered relevant. The results of this study indicate that the hadiths about the permissibility of bringing children to the mosque are closely related to the values of Islamic education. The values of Islamic education in question are religious education, moral education and social education.
