Abstract

The conventional Land and Building Tax (PBB) evaluation methods in Indonesia, namely in Baso District, Agam Regency, depend on two-dimensional measures with accuracy rates ranging from 85% to 95%, resulting in possible revenue deficits and assessment inconsistencies. This work seeks to create and execute a more precise tax assessment system utilizing high-resolution 3D spatial data obtained by UAV-LiDAR technology. The study utilizes a quantitative applied methodology, employing a DJI Matrice 350 RTK outfitted with LiDAR sensors for data acquisition. Data processing with DJI Terra and TerraSolid software produces Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and Digital Surface Models (DSM), facilitating accurate land boundary delineation and 3D building digitization. The findings indicate a substantial enhancement in spatial measuring accuracy, attaining 97-99% precision relative to traditional approaches. The implementation facilitates thorough property evaluation via precise measurements of building heights, volumes, and land areas, thereby offering a more dependable foundation for tax computations. The study suggests that, despite constraints including elevated initial costs and training demands, the inclusion of UAV-LiDAR technology significantly improves the accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of PBB assessments, representing a notable improvement in contemporary property tax administration systems.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the improvement of learning activity results and learning outcomes through the Talking Stick learning model. This type of research is classroom action research which is carried out through the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research looks at student learning activities including visual activities, oral activities, mental activities, listening activities, writing activities, and emotional activities. The data collection tool used is a worksheet. observation of student learning activities and learning outcome tests. The results of the study show that (1) Learning activities observed from the learning process using the talking stick learning model increased from cycle I to cycle II. The average active student learning activity in cycle I was 44.87% and increased to 79.3% in cycle II. (2) The learning outcome value from the Daily Assessment (PH) conducted at the 4th meeting of each cycle also increased the number of students who achieved KKM ≥85, namely 52.7% completed cycle I and in cycle II increased to 86.11%. So it can be concluded that geography learning using the talking stick learning model can improve students' learning activities and learning outcomes in the biodiversity material for grades XI-4

Abstract

Geography learning requires active involvement of students in understanding geosphere phenomena contextually and spatially. However, learning that is still focused on teachers has the potential to result in low student understanding, especially in natural resource material. This study aims to determine the effect of the Earth Science in Community (EarthComm) learning model assisted by geographical tools on student learning outcomes in geography learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experiment type through a one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 20 students in one class at SMAS Methodist Banda Aceh. The research instrument was an objective multiple-choice test administered through pretest and posttest. Data analysis was performed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and the paired sample t-test hypothesis test at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and that there was a significant effect of the EarthComm learning model assisted by geographical tools on the understanding of natural resource material, as indicated by a two-tailed significance value ≤ 0.05, namely 0.00000012. Thus, the EarthComm learning model assisted by geographical tools is effective in improving student understanding and is relevant for application in geography learning.

Abstract

The phenomenon of low active involvement and weak conceptual understanding in students of grades XI-7 MAN 1 Banjarnegara in the subject of Geography became the main trigger for the implementation of this research. The problem is allegedly rooted in the application of conventional instructional methods that still dominate the classroom, thus limiting students' intellectual mobility. As a solution, this Classroom Action Research (PTK) was initiated to evaluate the extent to which the Reciprocal Teaching model is able to escalate the dynamics of activities as well as the achievement of student learning outcomes through a more participatory approach. In its implementation, this study takes two action cycles that integrate the four pillars of cognitive strategy, namely summarizing, question generating, clarifying, and predicting. In Cycle I, observations showed that student involvement was still held at a low to moderate level, with the classical completion rate only reaching 46.7%. Nevertheless, through deep reflection and strengthening collaboration in Cycle II, there was a significant spike in the intensity of interaction in the classroom. It was recorded that students' questioning activities increased drastically to the very high category (81%), which was directly proportional to the increase in learning completeness which reached 70%. This success confirms that the paradigm shift, in which students take on the role of "teachers" to their peers, is effectively able to stimulate metacognitive independence and build their confidence. Comprehensively, the implementation of Reciprocal Teaching has succeeded in transforming the learning atmosphere into a more dynamic and in-depth ecosystem. These results prove that the target of process improvement and optimization of learning outcomes in Geography material has been completely fulfilled in the second cycle, so that no more intervention is needed in the next cycle.

Abstract

The occurrence of natural disasters frequently results in the impairment of settlements, thus rendering relocation the optimal course of action. The present study aims to review relocation policies and recovery efforts following the Aceh tsunami, the eruptions of Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta and Mount Sinabung, and the disaster in Central Sulawesi. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach. The research findings highlight significant challenges in relocation, including the difficulty of securing land that is physically and legally clean and clear. In order to address these issues, land provision was carried out using village land, state land, land with cultivation rights, and the release of production forest areas. The review also indicates that in order to support livelihood sustainability, the government implemented several strategies, including the provision of agricultural land in Sinabung, the utilisation of KRB III land as a livelihood source in Yogyakarta, and the facilitation of new job opportunities for the community. This review underscores that the challenges associated with relocation extend beyond the mere procurement of land and the establishment of settlements, encompassing the imperative of restoring community livelihoods. The findings of this study are expected to provide a foundation for the formulation of appropriate relocation policies in the future, ensuring that communities are safe from disasters and able to live more prosperously.

Abstract

The development of mangrove ecotourism in coastal areas has become an approach to maintaining ecosystem sustainability while supporting the welfare of local communities. Mangrove Beach Kampung Nipah in Serdang Bedagai Regency is a mangrove rehabilitation area that has developed into a community-based ecotourism destination. This study aims to analyze management conditions, the availability of facilities and infrastructure, and to formulate development strategies for Mangrove Beach Kampung Nipah from a sustainable tourism perspective. The research method employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through field observations, interviews, and literature review, and analyzed using descriptive analysis and SWOT analysis. The results indicate that ecotourism management is community-based through local institutions, supported by relatively adequate tourism facilities and diverse natural and educational tourism attractions. The SWOT analysis identifies strengths in mangrove rehabilitation and community-based management, as well as challenges related to accessibility, promotion, and the control of environmental carrying capacity. The implications of this study highlight the need to strengthen stakeholder collaboration, enhance human resource capacity, and implement tourism management based on environmental carrying capacity to support the sustainability of coastal ecotourism.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a country with a high level of disaster vulnerability, faces significant challenges in maintaining public health resilience. Community resilience is a crucial aspect in mitigating the impact of morbidity, mortality, and psychosocial distress resulting from disasters. This study aims to develop an integrative framework for implementing the values of national defence in strengthening disaster-based community resilience from a public health perspective. The method employed was a qualitative approach through a literature review of scientific articles from 2021 to 2025. The findings indicate that national defence values such as social solidarity, mutual aid, and collective awareness act as social capital that strengthens community adaptive capacity, enhances preparedness, and supports the resilience of the health system. This study produced an integrative framework comprising core values, implementation mechanisms, community health capacity, and outcomes in the form of public health resilience.

Abstract

Rainfall prediction in the tropics is highly challenging due to strong convective variability and limited observations. This study evaluates the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model over southern Sumatra, using ERA5 and GFS-FNL as boundary datasets. Ten combinations of microphysics and cumulus parameterizations were tested, followed by bias correction, ensemble construction, and verification against AWS observations. Two bias correction methods were compared: Linear Scaling (LS) and Quantile Mapping (QM). LS consistently improved correlation and reduced RMSE, while QM often degraded performance. For rainfall intensity, ERA5-driven simulations outperformed GFS, with ERA5 Member 9 (WSM6 + BMJ) showing the highest skill (r = 0.91; RMSE ≈ 20 mm). Rainfall occurrence verification showed that ERA5 ensembles, particularly Ensemble 3 with POD–FAR weighting, achieved the most balanced skill (CSI ≈ 0.60), while GFS Member 5 occasionally surpassed the ensemble mean. ROC analysis revealed complementary strengths: ERA5 was more effective for moderate to heavy rainfall, whereas GFS showed greater sensitivity to light events. These results underscore ERA5’s advantage for tropical downscaling and highlight the potential of multisource ensembles to improve rainfall prediction in data-scarce regions.
