Abstract

Mandate (credential) as mitigation culture on local community of Sindang Barang Local wisdom can be learned through discovery of physical elements of traditional villages, such as spatial layout, architectural objects, and daily activities. The organization prevailing in environment plays an important role in managing a contextual mitigation culture. The co-existence of authority (mandate) masters have the authority of value/cultural capital and to create symbolic elements, such as will or belief. Sindang Barang Cultural Village was taken as a case study to reveal the history and role of the mandate in the culture of disaster mitigation. This study aims to observe the role of the mandate and its impact in disaster mitigation. The role of the mandate is also examined to see the existence of efforts to preserve the values of local wisdom towards the times. This research uses descriptive-qualitative method by tracing the phenomena and artifacts in the field. The analysis carried out in two phases. The first phase is to create a mitigation concept table based on the existing program or artifacts. The second phase is to discuss the mitigation culture based on its classified capacities. The mitigation seen from the Sindang Barang Cultural Village program and artifacts is the risk of fire, earthquake, and landslide. The process of determining a mandate is commensurate with adaptive capacity because this stage tends to lead to restriction or orders about in program that is carried out systematically in particular context.

Abstract

The development of urban kampong as one the alternatives special interest tourism Many people are interested in going to urban areas, because of the economic opportunities offered by city facilities. When cities grow in size and population, the harmony between the spatial, social, environmental aspects of the city and its inhabitants become very important. The formation of urban kampong settlements which are mostly inhabited by low-income communities is an integral part of the city's growth process. In general, people living in settlements do not have social power, less economic resources and physical ability to struggle to live in the city. They must be creative in handling minimal infrastructure facilities in settlements. The strategy of developing Urban Kampong into tourism destination is the process of developing urban kampong that focus on community empowerment through the construction of physical infrastructure. Therefore, this approach involves learning the local knowledge not only from the community leaders but also from all community members. This research will share the experience on how to empower communities living in urban kampong settlement in order to develop their housing areas into special interest tourism destinations.

Abstract

Analysis of pedestrian design criteria of Padalarang railway station area The Padalarang sub urban is currently known as high mobility area. There are railway station and terminal for public transportation. Recently, Padalarang has decreasing its physical and visual quality due to the growth of informal housing, informal sector, traditional market and terminal. The Transit Oriented Development is an approach which integrates vehicle network system and pedestrian lane modes. These inappropriate growths generate a lot of environment problems. One of them is the lack of pedestrian lane and its linkage with housing, such as markets, stations, terminals and other public facilities, meanwhile pedestrian lanes have an important role for supporting their main activity. Especially pedestrian lanes in Indonesia which recently are still in ongoing debate as an important issue in town planning. This research will deliberate about the design criteria of pedestrian lane system become more walkable and responsive, which oriented to sidewalk users. This research was conducted through case study and data collecting by surveying, observing and mapping the physical condition of the area nearby railway station, terminal and traditional market. This study is expected to be able to help government and stakeholders as a reference in assembling the area around Padalarang railway station.

Abstract

Organic architectural study on agro-tourism areas Organic architecture is a concept in architecture that is in harmony with nature and integrated with the site through visualization. There are eight basic concepts that can be used as a reference in designing organic architectural building concepts, namely, building as nature, continuous present, form follows flow, of the people, of the hill, of the material, youthful and unexpected, Living music. modern agro-tourism areas can liven up the atmosphere of modern agro-tourism areas, so as to increase the attractiveness of these modern agro-tourism areas. This study used a deductive method to find out more about the application of organic architecture in the Farm Kuntum region. The analysis was conducted descriptively qualitatively using the theory of eight organic architectural concepts. The conclusion obtained is that the concept of organic architecture can be applied to modern agro-tourism areas, including applying open mass compositions and resembling organisms, presenting natural elements, and making nature part of the design an application of the building is nature concept. The form follows flow is applied to modern agro-tourism areas by designing the longest side of the building to the north and south, designing the building with openings, and designing an open area leading to a beautiful natural environment. Of the people is applied to modern agro-tourism areas by providing sufficient space for visitors to interact with animals and design buildings with open spaces that can accommodate large crowds. © 2020 Anisa, Gina Liana Wati

Abstract

Physical settings graffiti tagging as vandalism in Yogyakarta The spatial identity of a city can be demonstrated through a clean, healthy, and organized city. A city that is clean, organized and free of vandalism is able to meet the city's identity standards. Uncontrolled vandalism perpetrators have increasingly tarnish the privilege of Yogyakarta as a city of education and culture. The act of graffiti tagging is done by writing the name of the gang/group on the media/building in public spaces using spray paint as a form of existence. Graffiti tagging will cause visual pollution that damages the privileges of the City of Yogyakarta. The phenomenon of the rise of graffiti tagging causes problems in the visualization of the representation of Yogyakarta City. The purpose of this study is to identify physical setting factors that influence the activity of graffiti tagging in Yogyakarta City and provide ideas through the preparation of Urban Design Guidelines related to graffiti tagging problems as a form of vandalism that occurs in Yogyakarta City. This study examines the physical settings and activities on the AM Sangaji corridor which is part of the imaginary axis of the city of Yogyakarta but often becomes the location of vandalism. Data collection is carried out through surveys and literature studies related to building functions, mass, height, color, transparency and setback. The identification results are then analyzed based on each element that is used as a research variable to find building criteria that tend to be objects of vandalism. The results of the study show that locations that are often used as graffiti tagging actions are the places that are located on the main road. The physical setting factors that most influenced the vandalism were lack of vegetation, small building mass, lack of transparency, and narrow setback dimensions. © 2020 Nino Ardhiansyah

Abstract

The very word “theory”sometimes seems to scare people … (Only) few people feel at home with theory or use it in a productive way”.

Abstract

The deisgn of Riau Malay traditional games facility by adapting Daniel Libeskind’s design principle in Pekanbaru Pekanbaru City has a variety of children's attractions. The rides are generally found at malls or closed commercial centers that tend to provide modern games. Modern games are part of progressively advanced technological advances. Unlike the anciently, the children prefer to play by taking place on an empty field land. The condition of two different things between modern games and traditional games began to be characterized by increasingly many types of modern games and the loss of traditional games. The traditional game is a type of game originating from the Malay region of Riau. One of the game types is Congklak, Statak, gasing, and so on. Therefore, the title of the traditional game of Malay Riau that is useful to keep this traditional game can be preserved, especially children can play while learning to know the traditional values. With the concept of motion design in statak play, this facility is designed with its main function as a playground. It used the primary method of surveying, as well as the various literary sources and standards of game facilities as a secondary method. This traditional game facility emphasizes the design principle of Daniel Libeskind to create a modern design that remains thick with its traditional values. Although the facility design results have many geometric angles, but remain safe and do not interfere with children's movement. © 2020 Elza Fitria Ningsih, Yohannes Firzal, Pedia Aldy

Abstract

Coconut center design with biomimetic approach in Tembilahan Tembilahan is known as the country of the coconut expanse of the world who has the industry made from coconut, both from shell, stem and even from coconut fiber. The potential of the industry made from coconut in Indragiri Hilir has not received a positive response from the society because of the intense competition with the production of other raw materials., whereas coconut is one of the highest potentials that can be utilized to improve the regional economy. To support the development of the coconut industry, a coconut center is needed to accommodate a variety of activities related to coconuts such as handicraft centers and coconut development. By using a primary method in the form of a survey, as well as various sources of literature as a secondary method. In the design of the coconut center architecture, this biomimetic Architecture theme approach will be used which uses nature as a model and reference in design ideas; it can strengthen the natural aspects of the design object that refers to the function of crafts, research, production, education, and recreation. © 2020 Kemas Roqim Azyan, Yohannes Firzal, Mira Dharma Susilawaty

Abstract

Characteristics of green open space design on urban river borders The design of green open space on the urban river border should be able to fulfill ecological and social functions like other types of green open space. Green open space of Teras Cikapundung, green open space of Jaletreng River Park, and green open space of Taman Kaulinan have their design characteristics in realizing both functions. This study aims to uncover the characteristics of green open space design on the urban river border. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The analysis shows that the three objects of research have similarities and differences that complement each other to fulfill ecological and social functions. Ecological functions can be fulfilled well in the green open space of Teras Cikapundung and green open space of Jaletreng River Park, while the social services can be performed well in the all three green open spaces. The conclusion obtained, i.e. (a) in terms of ecological functions and social functions must be fulfilled in a balanced manner, (b) because it is located in the river border area, it is expected that the river can be used as a potential in fulfilling ecological and social functions, (c) the river border area is maintained its natural area so that animal habitat can be managed, but can be integrated with artificial areas such as reinforcement to prevent erosion and river sedimentation, (d) the river body can be used as a visitor attraction Namely by designing a sitting space facing the river, developing a circulation area along the river border, and holding river games. © 2020 Kusriantari Fenny Aprillia, Titieandy Lie, Chairul Saputra
