Abstract

Science learning is emphasized on the active involvement of students to find concepts. However, limited access to the use of laboratories on campus prevents students from doing practicum. Therefore, one way to do learning during the transition from the pandemic to the new normal is by practicum using a virtual laboratory. The purpose of this study was to describe students' perceptions in practical activities using a virtual laboratory on simple electrical circuit material. The method used in this research is in the form of a survey by giving questionnaires to students who take part in the virtual laboratory practicum as many as 21 students. The technique used in the analysis uses descriptive quantitative. The survey results show that students have positive perceptions of virtual laboratory activities on aspects of learning innovation, motivation, effectiveness, benefits, and presentation of practical procedures.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identified and described the obstacles for teachers to implement an merdeka curriculum in mathematics learning. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method through interviews and observations to 27 participants of mathematics teachers primary school in West Java. The results of this study indicated that teachers experience obstacles in implementing the merdeka Curriculum in learning Mathematics. Obstacles experienced by teachers in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning. Obstacles to learning planning include (1) lack of understanding of how to reduce/translate CP into learning objectives; (2) heterogeneity of students in the classroom; (3) lack of reference for differentiated learning models; (4) limited facilities and infrastructure in schools; (5) limited initial knowledge and subject matter. Obstacles to the implementation of learning include (1) limited understanding of the subject matter with other relevant knowledge; (2) limitation of accommodating opening questions; (3) the limitations of students' psychological understanding; (4) the limitations of translating knowledge into easily understood language. Obstacles to learning evaluation include (1) an inappropriate preliminary assessment paradigm; (2) the limitations of identifying the learning process; (3) limited understanding of formative assessment.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the development of counting board media, (2) describe the feasibility of counting board media. The Research and Development (R&D) research method was carried out at SDN 160/VIII Sidorukun using a sequence of media development combining the theories of Borg and Gall and Sugiyono, namely: (1) research and data collection, (2) planning, (3) product design, ( 4) design validation, and (5) design revision. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis technique by determining the average score of the questionnaire. Before being tested, the counting board media was validated by 3 validators which included material expert validators, media experts and linguists.The results of media validation by material experts and linguists are included in the very valid category (SV) while those by media experts are included in the Valid category (V). While the results of small and large scale trials can be said to be practical in its implementation. Based on this, the counting board media product has met the eligibility criteria, namely validity and practicality.

Abstract

This research aims to produce and determine the feasibility and attractiveness of educational quizzes and games using Wordwall, as well as the correlation between student responses and learning outcomes that are suitable for online learning on Linear Form Absolute Value Equations for grade 10. The research method used is the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, consisting of 5 stages: (1) Analysis; (2) Design; (3) Development; (4) Implementation; (5) Evaluation. The expert validators consist of 2 mathematics education lecturers and 1 mathematics teacher. The research was conducted at MAN 2 Brebes with 40 grade 10 students. Data collection techniques used were product validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and quizzes in test form. The results of the material and media expert validation questionnaires on educational quizzes and games obtained an average feasibility percentage of 77.67% and 74.67%, categorized as "Feasible". The data analysis technique used is the feasibility percentage analysis and correlation analysis. The results showed that the product development of quizzes and educational games using Wordwall in online learning the absolute value equation for the linear form of class X was feasible to use. The implication is that the educational games and quizzes developed can be used as teaching materials; and teachers are advised to make educational games and quizzes for other subjects.

Abstract

The research aimed at (1) Introducing the concept of computational thinking to elementary school children using fun media, (2) Designing and developing a website-based computational thinking game, (3) Knowing the feasibility of a website-based computational thinking game in terms of functionality and interface effectiveness through usability testing methods. The type of research conducted was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model (Analyze), design, development, implementation, and evaluation. However, this research only reached the stage. The fourth is implementation. Usability testing was conducted on 10 class IV students at SDN Margaluyu, Sumedang Regency. The data analysis technique used is a quantitative descriptive technique. The research and development results are in the form of a website-based computational thinking game that gets a decent category with an average rating score of 4.07 from the effects of usability testing.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika, dan hambatan epistimologi yang terjadi pada siswa SMP terkait materi statistika. Penelitian bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan wawancara. Pada penelitian ini subjek yang digunakan sebanyak 26 siswa. Penelitian menggunakan teknik analisis yang mengidentifikasi hasil jawaban siswa yang dideskripsikan dengan bentuk kata-kata. Berdasarkan penelitian diperoleh kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa termasuk kategori sedang, hambatan epistimologi yang dihadapi siswa terkait pemahaman konsep matematika dalam menyelesaikan soal statistika; hambatan konseptual yang terjadi adalah ketidaksesuaian dalam penggunaan rumus, dan kekeliruan dalam menentukan rumus atau definisi; hambatan prosedural yang terjadi adalah siswa tidak mampu untuk menyelesaikan soal materi sampai pada bentuk paling sederhana sehingga perlu dilakukan langkah-langkah lanjutan, dan langkah penyelesaian soal materi yang diperintahkan tidak sesuai dengan langkah penyelesaian yang dilakukan oleh siswa; hambatan teknik operasional yang terjadi ialah kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam penulisan serta perhitungan dalam menjawab.

Abstract

This study aims to produce, describe quality, and find out students' responses to E-Module Science Based on Scientific Approach on Digestive System Material for Grade VIII Junior High School. This research includes research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model from Dick and Carry which consists of five stages, including analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The research subjects consisted of 3 science education experts as validators and product assessors; and 10 students as respondents. Data analysis techniques for evaluating the E-Module using V-Aiken and for the readability test by respondents using descriptive statistics. The results of this study include: E-Module Science Based on Scientific Approach on Digestive System Material for Grade VIII Middle School Students; the quality of the E-Modules produced is included in the very good criteria based on the assessments of experts and teachers; as well as students responding strongly to the E-Module being developed.

Abstract

The study aims to determine students’ mathematical communication skills in learning mathematics based on aspects of sosiomathematic norms. This research methotd uses descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were 6 students who were selected based on their level, namely high, medium and low. Researchers used questionnaires, test questions, and interviews with the aim of knowing the extent to which subjects had mathematical communication skills and sociomathematical norms. Then, data analysis techniques used the Rasch model on questionnaires and test questions, the during interviews used data reduction analysis, data collection, and drawing conclusions using the MAXQDA application. The results of this study are: a) students who have a high level of mathematics communication ability have high sociomathematic norms as well as medium and low levels; b) the characteristics of students mathematical communication abilities are more towards indicators of writing and mathematical expression; c) the characteristics of students sociomathematics norms lead to indicators of mathematical differences and mathematical insights. The research can be a source of information and reference for readers.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of low critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain of learning. The purpose of this study was to improve critical thinking skills and learning outcomes in students in grade V. The type of research used was classroom action research (CAR) with 22 fifth grade students at Kanisius Demangan Baru 1 Elementary School as subjects. Data collection techniques used in research are observation, interviews and tests. Data analysis techniques used in this research are quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. The results of the study showed an increase in critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in class V SD Kanisius Demangan Baru 1 from the initial conditions with an average of 61% increased in cycle I with an average of 75% and an average of 86% in cycle II. Improved learning outcomes after implementing Problem-based learning for students from the initial average value of 74 to an average of 79 in cycle I and increased again in cycle II to an average of 86 and succeeded in exceeding the KKM. The percentage of completeness also increased significantly from the previous 59% with 13 students who passed to 86% with 19 students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the problem of cheating in reducing similarity using Turnitin software in writing scientific articles, as well as the factors causing cheating problems carried out by students. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and interviews with students taking the scientific paper course. The sample consists of students taking the scientific paper course with focus on research mathematics in Open University, Study Program X, using purposive sampling technique. The research findings indicate, there are cheating techniques used to reduce similarity that are undetectable by Turnitin: (1) adjusting spaces in a text that is too large or too small, (2) converting text files into images, (3) adding specific letters to the manuscript, (4) inserting specific small-sized numbers that are almost invisible, (5) intentionally making typing errors, and (6) adding specific symbols to the scientific article manuscript.
