Abstract

This study aims to develop scientific science attitudes assessment instruments that can be used in elementary school-based values of character education. This research is a research development (R & D) conducted for one year with preliminary study stage, product development, product trial and product dissemination developed. A preliminary study was conducted by surveying the implementation of the science assessment in primary school. The preliminary study results show that teachers in 10 surveyed schools have never implemented a scientific attitude assessment in science learning. At the stage of product development, has developed a scientific attitude assessment instrument that has been validated by experts. The product trials were conducted in three stages: initial field test, main field test and field operational test. In the initial field test, it was conducted in two schools with 20 respondents in each class. Initial field test results show that the instrument reliability level is good, but there are still some invalid items that are 11 items in class IV, 8 items in class V and 7 items in class VI. This is because there are still some respondents who have not read smoothly so that they have difficulty in answering questions. In the main field test, it was conducted in 8 schools with 91 respondents. The main field test result is that there are 5 invalid questions, both in class IV, V and VI. Operational field tests were carried out with the number of respondents each 13 students from 10 schools. Field operational test results are all items declared valid and reliable. The last stage is to disseminate products through scientific forums such as seminars and socialization to schools. The scientific attitude instruments developed in this study can be used by elementary teachers to assess the scientific attitudes of elementary students.

Abstract

This development research aimed to produce performance assessment instrument on chemistry learning for XI grade, descibe for characteristics, and validity tests. This research development used Dick and Carey’s model. The products consists of acid-base proved into worksheet, evaluation of indicators, direction of usage, sheet of observation, rubric of assessment, assessment of conversion, and value of recapitulation. Validation’s data of Aiken were 0,60 for unit one, unit two for 0,60, and 0,66 for unite three means valid. The data of experiment were 84% for suitability, 87% for simplicity, and 84% for usefullness. Application’ data for suitability, simplicity, and usefullness were 84%, 86%, and 84% respectively. Upper validity correlation table within 5% of significant level and reability inter-raters were 0,76 for unit one and 0,75 for unit two. Application of assessment’s instrument were positively responded by students. Therefore, instrument of assessment in 2013 curriculum-based stated applicable to be implemented in learning process. Keywords: Performance assessment-instrument, Applicable, Chemistry  learning

Abstract

This study was aimed to develop inquiry-based learning tools (PPBIT) and analyzed its effectiveness in developing the ability to argue of students at SMAN 2 Taliwang-West Sumbawa. PPBIT was carried out by applying 4D procedure. Then, pretest posttest control group design also completely concerned in determining the effectiveness of PPBIT. There were 66 students as the sample which was scattered from two classes and was selected by using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that PPBIT was appropriately to be used for students argumentation skills’ activities by an average of feasibility syllabus 78.71%, RPP 83.5, LKITS 75%, and Instruments KB 80.25%, and effective in improving the ability to argue the class X SMAN 2 Taliwang, particularly on the subject of environmental pollution and recycling of waste by the average score of the students' ability from 48.22 up to 85.08.Keywords: PPBIT, Argument

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the capabilities of endophytic bacteria isolated from bark of the clove plants in inhibiting the growth of bacteria Streptococcus mutans, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli and to identify endophytic bacteria that potensial to produce an antibacterial. Stages of this research include the isolation of endophytic bacteria, antibacterial test, biochemical test, and molecular identification based on 16 S rRNA. It was obtained about 29 isolates from bark of the cloves plants in which 6 of them isolates inhibited bacterial S. aureus and 3 isolates inhibited bacterial S. aureus and S. mutans. Based on 16S rRNA molecular identification, isolates of endophytic bacterial of cloves plants bark which have inhibitory is closely related to Bacillus cereus JL and Bacillus amyloliquefasiensKeywords: Bark of the cloves, Endophytic bacterial, Molecular  identification

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types of endophytic bacteria on the bark of terap (Artocarpus elasticus) capable of inhibiting the growth of clinical isolate bacteria of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Stages of this study were (1) isolating the endophytic bacteria from the bark of terap plants (2) antibacterial test (inhibition test) against clinical isolate bacteria, (3) biochemical test upon endophytic isolate bacteria showing strong  inhibition effect, (4) moleculer identifcation upon endophytic bacteria isolate showing strong  inhibition effect. From this study, it was obtained 34 barks of terap isolates, and 12 isolates have inhibitory effect on S. aureus. Based on 16S rRNA   molecular identification, the isolate of endophytic bacteria of the barks were identified as Bacillus cereus, Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. Those  endophytic bacteria of Terap plants  are potentially  to be  developed as a the producer of antibacterial compounds. Keywords: Terap bark, Endophytic bacteria, Identification, Antibacteria

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) determine the effect of Learning Cycle 7E model and conventional model towards student’s learning outcomes of Chemistry, (2) determine the effect of the critical thinking skills towards student’s learning outcomes of Chemistry, and (3 ) determine the interaction between the learning model (learning Cycle 7E-Conventional) with the critical thinking skills (High - Low) towards student’s learning outcomes of Chemistry. This research is a Quasi Experiment with the 2 x 2 factorial design and variables in this research consists of independent variables, moderator variables and the dependent variable. Learning Cycle Model 7E and conventional learning models used as independent variables, critical thinking skills students used as the moderator variable, and the learning outcomes used as the dependent variable. Analysis of the research’s results using by Two Way ANACOVA at the level 5% of significance. According to the results of analysis, it was concluded that the critical thinking skills significantly influence on chemistry student learning outcomes, where the average of high group of critical thinking skills, significantly higher than lower group. Keywords: Learning cycle 7E model, critical thinking skills, chemistry learning outcomes

Abstract

This research has made for identification derivate compound of fractionation derivate compound of fractionation root bark Artocarpus ododratissimus. Root bark A. dodoratissimus has macerated by methanol. Fractionation by using Vacuum Liquid Choromatography with eluen variation from nonpolar till polar (n-hexane 100%; n-hexane:ethyl acetate 9:1 till 1:9; ethyl acetate 100% and ethyl acetate:methanol 9,5:0,5 and 9:1) produce main fraction. Purified by used with Gravitation Coulumb Chomatograph produce seven main fraction. Identification based on FT-IR and 1H-NMR showed that the pure compound assumed phenyl prophane derivation.Keyword: Artocarpus odoratissimus, phenyl prophane
