Abstract

This research was conducted to produce an Argumentation Assessment based on Scientific Social Issues. This study uses the R&D method. This research is in the Develop stage, namely conducting expert validation and limited trials. The SSI-based argumentation instrument trial was conducted on 15 and 30 grade IX students of SMP Adik Irma Jakarta. Data collection techniques were carried out by written tests and assessment of argumentation test questions. The assessment of argumentation test questions is given to material experts and 10 teachers. The CVI test was conducted by ten teachers, in an average CVI score of 0.9 with a very appropriate category. The first trial was conducted with ten written tests, resulting in six assessments that were declared valid and reliable with a validity test value > 0.514 and a Cronbach's Alpha reliability test score > 0.514. Furthermore, the second trial was carried out on thirty students with five assessments, resulting in Validity Test scores > 0.361, Reliability Test scores > 0.361, and the developed assessment was able to measure students' argumentation skills at level three according to the Toulmin Analysis Pattern (TAP). The conclusion is that the assessment developed can be used by teachers to measure students' argumentation skills.

Abstract

Library as a storage room books that are kept on a regular basis to be read and studied or used as reference material. Advances in digital technology have changed many things, one of which is in the world of education where technology is used in the library field which can build many skills. Advances in technology advances in digital technology are utilized in the field of libraries which can build many skills. In developing skills, the top ten skills include Cognitive Flexibility. Cognitive Flexibility is the ability to think and align cognitive strategy processes in dealing with new and unexpected situations. The research method used is Research and Development with a 4D model approach. The subjects in this study were students of Biology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Samudra University in semesters V and VII. The results of the digital library IT expert validation test where Accessibility has a score of 92%, while the lowest, navigability and copyright have a score of 50%. While the validation of the librarian's ease of reading and storing has 88% while the inventory suitability is 50%. While the practicality test for users is 75%. This is because there is still a need for more in-depth development in increasing the collection of various books in the Biology education study program at Samudra University

Abstract

Improving critical thinking in science classes can be accomplished by developing reasoning thinking approaches. The goal of studying science reasoning in science classes is to see how much of this strategy is used in solving science problems and developing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) that are based on critical thinking. Between 2015 and 2021, a total of 100 articles were retrieved from the Google Scholar database and the Publishing or Perish (PoP) program. Mendeley desktop, a referencing management software, was then used to handle the selected references. Once the database was handled, this research employed VOS viewer software to categorize and visualize it. In general, this study provides a solid foundation for further research into "science reasoning."

Abstract

This research can improve science learning, one of which is by integrating science learning using values in local culture. This study aims to describe the concept of ethnoscience in the barodak procession at Sumbawa traditional weddings with science learning in elementary schools. In the traditional Berodak procession at a wedding in Sumbawa Regency, which uses the form of objects that exist in the nature around us. The writing method used in this article is a qualitative research type. This research is in the form of activities, ideas and mindsets that are reflected in barodak culture. Sources of data were obtained from the indigenous people of Sumbawa who were used as informants and literature studies. The technique used is an interview technique by asking several questions related to the barodak procession. By utilizing the form of objects from the natural around us. So that students can understand the shape of objects from the natural surroundings that are in Sumbawa so many and rich in benefits. Based on the results of the discussion of science learning, it will be more effective if it is related to the culture in the surrounding environment so that students can better understand learning.

This study aimed to determine the best technique of application of edible coatings (spraying, spreading, or dipping) on beef carried out sensory quality, then performed in coated to physicochemical analyses (pH, moisture content, WHC, cooking loss, and color). The beef was coated with different coating techniques spraying, brushing, and dipping then stored at 27°C for 8 hours. At the end of the storage period, the treatments exhibited the best sensory analyses (texture surface and under, odor, physical deviation, and discoloration). The best sensory analysis is the spraying of coatings technique is spraying. The results that the application of the edible coatings technique on beef maintaining the best physicochemical quality are pH 5,59; the moisture content of 68,26%; WHC of 43,71%; cooking loss of 34,28%; and color indicated by L*, a*, and b*.

Abstract

Improving the achievement of competencies which are indicators in the study of the quality of education in Indonesia, can be done by procuring quality and innovative teaching materials. This study aims to develop a science learning handout on the human digestive system to improve critical thinking skills for class VIII SMP. Development is done by (Educational Design Research). This study aims to develop a science learning handout on the human digestive system to improve critical thinking skills for class VIII SMP. This article describes the results of the validity and practicality of science learning handouts on the human digestive system. The instrument used in this study was a validity and practicality questionnaire. Data analysis techniques include descriptive data analysis, validation sheets, and questionnaires. The handout validation sheet is given to 5 validators. Instead, 31 grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Banjarmasin were given practice sheets. The results of the validity questionnaire analysis concluded that the validity of the handout was 3.67 very valid categories. Practicality test of content average of 87.41 was obtained in the very practical category. The results of the practicality test of expectations average of 87.78 in the very practical category. Finally, the actual practicality test results average of 85.65 with a very practical category. This means that science handouts are valid and practical in the learning process to practice critical thinking skills

Abstract

Most science books do not provide easy-to-understand visual media. For example, by giving pictures that are small or unclear, so that students find it difficult to understand the available information. Therefore, a study was conducted on the validity and practicality of Prezi learning media on the role of soil and soil organisms for the survival of junior high school students. The purpose of this study was to test the validity and practicality of Prezi learning media. This study uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE development model which is carried out only until the implementation stage with a small group scale. The research instrument used was the Prezi learning media validation sheet and student response questionnaires. Based on the results of the study, it was obtained that the validity test of the Prezi learning media was very valid by showing a score of 0.84 while the results of the student response questionnaire as a test of the practicality of the media were obtained practically by showing a score of 77%, so it can be concluded that the Prezi learning media can be continued to the next stage, namely the effectiveness stage

Abstract

The essential oil content of cloves can be used as a base for aromatherapy soap. The manufacturing process is an example of implementing applied chemistry in everyday life that utilizes local Maluku wisdom. The purpose of this study was to create an aromatherapy soap innovation from clove leaves as a valid android-based booklet media in applied chemistry learning. This research was conducted by making aromatherapy soap from clove leaves and testing the quality of the soap and then making an android-based booklet with materials for making aromatherapy soap to support applied chemistry learning. The android-based booklet media that was created was validated by experts and then analyzed using the content validity coefficient formula according to Gregory. The results showed that aromatherapy soap from clove leaves met the quality standards of hand-washing liquid soap. And the best treatment of aromatherapy soap is at a concentration of 15% with a pH of 6.98, free alkali of 0.02%, and total plate count of 6.00 x 100. The results of the content validity analysis obtained information that the android-based booklet media in applied chemistry learning has met the criteria valid where the overall content validity coefficient is 75%. The resulting android-based booklet media can make it easier for students to learn applied chemistry online and offline
