Abstract

The application of physical distancing during the pandemic has prompted the government to require schools to implement distance learning. One of the learning approaches that can be applied to carry out school activities today is STEAM learning. For this reason, this service activity aims to train junior high school mathematics teachers in Karanganyar district to be able to design study plans, learning media and assessment instruments. Based on this goal, the community service team carried out a workshop activity at Junior High School 1 Kerjo Karanganyar and POKJA II Karanganyar consisting of 25 teachers. There were two resource persons who assisted in the implementation of the workshop about material on the concept and implementation approach and designing a board game for learning. To find out the understanding of the teachers before and after the training, a questionnaire was used. The results of the questionnaire were analyzed using qualitative method. From community service activities, the following results were obtained, the teachers had (1) understood the concept and implementation of STEAM learning; (2) able to develop learning tools in the form of lesson plans, learning media and assessment instruments; (3) implementing limited STEAM learning

Abstract

Unemployment is a common problem faced by developing countries such as Indonesia. In 2022-2023 Banten Province ranked first in the percentage of the highest Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in Indonesia. Thus, further research is needed on what factors affect the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in Banten Province. This study aims to analyze the influence of average years of schooling (?1), district/city minimum wage (?2), labor force participation rate (?3), and GRDP growth rate (?4) on the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in Banten Province in 2013-2022. The analysis method used in this research is panel data regression. The results of this study indicate that the best model selected after going through the Chow test and Hausman test is the fixed effect model. The final result shows that the average years of schooling (?1) has a negative and significant effect on the percentage of Open Unemployment Rate (OUP) in Banten Province, the district/city minimum wage (?2) has a positive and significant effect on the percentage of Open Unemployment Rate (OUP) in Banten Province, labor force participation rate (?3) has a negative and significant effect on the percentage of Open Unemployment Rate (OUP) in Banten Province, and GRDP growth rate (?4) has a negative and significant effect on the percentage of Open Unemployment Rate (OUP) in Banten Province.

Abstract

This study aims to implement the STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering Art Mathematics) based learning in the bachelor of mechanical engineering at the Universitas Sebelas Maret. Integrating STEAM learning in engineering students in design development improves students' understanding of mechanical engineering through projects, challenges, and milestones. This article focusses on how to integrate instructional project into learning-based area and evaluate how far their understanding of. In this article a descriptive approach was used. It aims to explain a phenomenon or social reality by describing variables related to a subject and unit of analysis. 33 university students studying mechanical engineering formed the study population. This study aims to provide an overview of the effectiveness of the STEAM-based learning process applied to the project design topic through descriptive research. The data indicate that learning has improved, and students are now learning more cases and actively gaining knowledge than in the past. Further details about the topic are discussed in this article.

Abstract

Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) telah muncul sebagai inovasi transformatif dalam pendidikan matematika kejuruan, yang menawarkan peluang baru untuk meningkatkan hasil pembelajaran dan mengatasi tantangan yang sudah lama ada. Tinjauan sistematis ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan AI dalam pendidikan matematika kejuruan, dampaknya terhadap keterlibatan, kinerja, dan kepuasan siswa, serta tantangan yang terkait dengan integrasinya. Dengan menggunakan kerangka kerja PRISMA, studi ini menganalisis artikel yang ditinjau sejawat yang diterbitkan antara tahun 2020 sampai 2025, yang bersumber dari basis data seperti Scopus, Web of Science, SpringerLink, dan ScienceDirect. Temuan tersebut mengungkapkan bahwa perangkat AI, termasuk Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS), asisten virtual, dan aplikasi gamifikasi, telah berhasil diterapkan untuk mempersonalisasi pembelajaran dan meningkatkan hasil siswa. Perangkat ini telah menunjukkan dampak positif yang signifikan, seperti peningkatan keterlibatan siswa, peningkatan nilai ujian, dan tingkat kepuasan yang lebih tinggi. Namun, tantangan seperti infrastruktur yang terbatas, kesiapan guru, dan masalah etika terkait privasi data dan bias algoritmik menghambat adopsi yang meluas. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun AI memiliki potensi besar untuk merevolusi pendidikan matematika kejuruan, mengatasi hambatan ini sangat penting untuk implementasi yang adil dan efektif. Penelitian di masa mendatang harus difokuskan pada pengembangan solusi AI yang hemat biaya, perluasan program pelatihan guru, dan eksplorasi dampak jangka panjang AI pada pendidikan kejuruan. Tinjauan ini memberikan wawasan berharga bagi para pendidik, pembuat kebijakan, dan peneliti yang berupaya memanfaatkan AI untuk pembelajaran matematika yang inovatif dan inklusif di sekolah kejuruan.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy is defined as students’ capacity to formulate, employ and interpret mathematics in a variety of contexts. It includes reasoning mathematically and using mathematical concepts, procedures, facts and tools to describe, explain and predict phenomena. It assists individuals in recognising the role that mathematics plays in the world and to make the well-founded judgements and decisions needed by constructive, engaged and reflective citizens. Quantity content includes the ability in reasoning quantitatively, representing something into numbers, understanding mathematical steps, counting by heart and making assessments. The questions on quantity content are mostly implemented in everyday life, such as in exchanging currency exchange rates, determining bank interest, shopping, calculating taxes, measuring time, measuring distance and others. The purpose of this article is to describe the level of mathematical literacy ability of junior high school students in solving Quantity content PISA questions. The data from this study were taken from the results of the PISA test questions on quantity content and interviews. Subject taking is based on the test results of students who have the highest scores, as it is expected to get the results of the analysis of students’ high literacy skills. In this research, the researcher is using indicators of mathematical literacy level according to PISA. Based on the results of research and discussion, it is concluded that there are students who have high mathematical literacy skills equivalent to level 5.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan bahwa pendekatan distribusi normal melalui distribusi binomial secara teoritis negatif dan secara simulatif menggunakan software minitab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan mengumpulkan berbagai data terkait literatur distribusi normal dan distribusi binomial negatif. Membuktikan secara teoritis pendekatan distribusi normal melalui distribusi binomial negatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode pembangkit momen, dimana distribusi binomial negatif mendekati distribusi normal hingga tak terhingga. Simulasi menggunakan software minitab dapat dilihat pada poligon distribusi binomial negatif dengan semakin besar mendekati tak terhingga dan semakin mendekati kurva normal.

Abstract

 The objective of this research is to delineate the mathematical problem-solving skills of students based on their introverted and extroverted personality types. The research methodology employed is descriptive research, utilizing a qualitative approach. The subject selection technique used was purposive sampling, which was as many as 4 students, specifically, the study involves 2 students with introverted personality types and 2 with extroverted personality types. Data analysis involves techniques such as data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The findings indicated that (1) Class XI students of SMAN 5 Wajo with introverted personality types have high mathematical problem solvingskills where students are able to meet all indicators, namely: a) the stage of understanding the problem, b) the stage of devising a plan, c) the stage of carry out the plan; and d) able to looking back. (2) Grade XI students of SMAN 5 Wajo with extroverted personality type have low mathematical problem-solving skills where students are able to meet two indicators, namely: a) the stage of understanding the problem, b) the stage of devising a plan, c) unable to carry out the plan; and d) unable to looking back.

Abstract

This research aims to assess students' mathematical problem-solving abilities regarding arithmetic sequences and series. The research was conducted in one high school of Karawang district, where a total of 35 students were taken from a single class. From the data collected, it was found that 25 students, which accounts for 71.4%, had medium-level mathematical problem-solving abilities, while 5 students, each from the high and low categories, accounted for 14.3% respectively. The researchers selected three students as samples to analyze each indicator of their mathematical problem-solving abilities. The study results indicate that students in the low category have not achieved the indicators of planning and checking again. Students in the medium category have not reached the indicators of checking again, while students in the high category have achieved all the indicators of mathematical problem-solving ability. The average indicator score for all students in the research is 46%, which is still low.

Abstract

The aims of this study were (1) to know the concept of geometry with geometric material, (2) to know the concept of geometry with geometric material, (3) to know the concept of geometry with geometric transformation material, and (4) to know the development of numeration contained in the design. Saung Ranggon traditional house. This research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observation, and documentation techniques, as well as data analysis using triangulation techniques with the Spradley model consisting of domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, and component analysis. The results of this study are the geometric concepts contained in the design of the Saung Ranggon traditional house, namely: the concept of a flat shape (rectangle that can be seen from the door, a square that can be seen from the side wall, a triangle that can be seen from the ventilation section, a trapezoid that can be seen from the back wall, rhombus which can be seen from the fence section, and circles which can be seen from the old well), the concept of geometric shapes (tubes), the concept of transformation geometry (reflection on the  axis,  axis,  axis), and numeration development is used to solve the cost problem.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the lack of comprehensive mathematics learning resources. At times, teachers open instructional videos, then books, and browse websites, which inevitably leads students to rely on scattered learning sources. So, this research aims to develop a realistic mathematics education (RME)-based mathematics e- module integrated with the ethnomathematics of the Dukutan Tradition, which is a tradition in Karanganyar Regency on the material of the Linear Equation and Inequality System for Wikarya Karanganyar Vocational High School, to determine the level of validity of the developed mathematics e-module and to find out the user's response to the developed e-module, and measure the effectiveness of the e-module in terms of student learning outcomes. The development model used in this research is the ADDIE model with the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects of this study were class X Office Management and Business Services students of Wikarya Karanganyar Vocational High School, totaling 26 students in the 2023/2024 academic year. Data were collected using tests, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study are (1) the average score obtained from the validation of material, media, and cultural experts is 0,895 which is included in the high validity category (2) the average score of teacher responses with a percentage of 89,5% which is included in the very practical category (3) the average score of student responses with a percentage of 92,75% which is included in the very practical category (4) the N-Gain average is 0,73 or in the form of a percentage of 73% which is included in the high improvement category with the level of effectiveness in the moderately effective category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the mathematics e-module developed by the researcher is included in the valid, practical, and effective mathematics e-module to improve student learning outcomes so that it is suitable for use to increase understanding of the concept of Linear Equation and Inequality System material for grade X students. Keywords: E-Modules, Realistic Mathematic Education (RME), Dukutan Tradition Ethnomathematics, Linear Equation And Inequality System, Student Learning Outcomes
