Abstract

Some researches show that healing environment has big impact for patient’s health and well-being. Healing environment is a design concept that has environment as its dominant issue. Nature and its element, such as natural lighting, air circulation, and silence could make patient become calmer and reduce patient’s stress and depression. These natural elements could be realized by applying healing garden. The method of this research is triangulation of source method by showing qualitative and descriptive data. The result of this research is the principle application of healing garden in design. The applications of healing garden could stimulate human’s sense, such as sense of sight by applying various colours, materials, and natural lighting, sense of hearing by applying artificial pond and noise control, sense of touch by applying vegetation which sensitive of touch, sense of taste by applying vegetation that could be eaten, and sense of smell by applying flowers. The garden should be easy to find and recognize by applying sign and symbol. The garden will be provided with accessibility for patient by applying ramp and the width of the road, healing garden in front of the hospital and certain area, and also provided place for animals.

Abstract

Today’s fashion is an important part of the lifestyle and influence in many aspects of life including influential in global economic that the development should be considered. Bandung as a creative city supported by enterprising creative industries and communities is a suitable habitat in the development of the fashion mode that has significant impact on the development of the creative economy in the city of Bandung. Based on the Government Work Report Bandung (LKPJ AMJ) in 2012, the growth of creative industries has decreased. Fashion needs to be developed starting from human resources, the manufacturing process of mode, distribution of works / fashion products, activities in the networking community, the container activities of urban communities to engage in communal and urban public recreation in the creative space. Therefore, the existence of Bandung Fashion Hub as a center of fashion in Bandung is indispensable. Of these issues, the design problem is to what extent the expression of space and forms that can be imaged expression of fashion stakeholder interaction and how to express creatively through fashion symbol of the city which can be a recreational space in the city of Bandung. The method used is a method of planning and designing architecture namely by processing the data and information (concept of) for creating design concept (concept for design) through the process of programming, design criteria and performance of a design concept. Expressive design approach by using the meaning of the symbol, the idea of space, form that expose the material so that it can express the character of fashion events and characters of Bandung as a creative city. Therefore the design of Bandung Fashion Hub aims to facilitate all activities related to the character of the activities of fashion stakeholders including forecasting activities, show off, market and shop. Fashion hub as a place to meet and communicate between communities and the media as well as with fashion activists in general and also as a place of education and information (forecasting), promotion (market), exhibitions (show off) and recreation for the community so as to enhance the growth of creative industries in Bandung. Keywords: Bandung, Creative City, Creative Industry, Expressive Design, Fashion, Hub

Abstract

Solo’s music world is not yet well accousticly contained because Solo does not have any buliding that specifically used for musical activities. The purpose of this design is to create a container of music activities with a good accoustic quality. The problem that emerge is how to design a building to contain music activities with a good accoustic quality. The planned building apply an accoustical system which able to accomodate every music genre with amplified sound. The accoustic room uses many sound absorber for amplified music. Abstract

Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) is a type of tourism in large groups, planned well in advance, and brought together for a particular purpose. Surakarta as one of MICE destinations in Indonesia has hosted many national and international MICE events. The tourists who do MICE activity in Surakarta are expected to become leisure tourists who will visit Surakarta city anotther time. In order to make MICE tourists become leisure tourists later on, the Convention and Exhibition building which is the place of MICE tourist activity needs to show the elements of Javanese Culture as a means to fulfil their curiosity on the city and to make them want to know more. Showing Javanese Culture can be done not only through the facade of building but also by creating Javanese atmosphere inside the the building. The method is to use questionnare to find out what Javanese objects will be displayed on the facade of building and use Peter Zumthor’s atmosphere design to bring up the cultural atmosphere in the building.

Abstract

Taruwongso is a tourist destination in Sukoharjo with major potential is wildlife and nature. However, in the absence of a manager, a lack of attention by people around, and visitors irresponsible, so many animals at Taruwongso hill who have lost their natural habitat.As the rescue efforts of wildlife and nature Taruwongso hill, the need for the development of Taruwongso hill travel into Taruwongso Animal Park that can accommodate a synergy between human behavior, animal behavior, and the behavior of nature in Sukoharjo.The problem of the design are: a synergy between human behavior, animal behavior, and the behavior of nature that will be contained greatly affect the shape Taruwongso Animal Park.Principles of Green Architecture is used as a basis for the synergy between human behavior, animal behavior, and the behavior of nature in Taruwongso Animal Park.The results obtained Animal Park is a design that can accommodate a synergy between human behavior, animal behavior, and the behavior of nature with the principles of Green Architecture. Keywords: Animal Park, Architecture,  Green Architecture, Taruwongso Hill.

Abstract

Business Superblock in North Jakarta motivated by the potential and high economic attractiveness of Jakarta but not matched with good urban planning so that Jakarta is not ready to accept urbanization and has residential and transportation issues. The objective of this scheme is to get the design of superblock area is able to accommodate business and commercial activities, supported by residential facilities and access to public transportation. The method used is a method of planning and architectural design through an approach that is taken from the book of David Owen: Green Metropolis : Why Living Smaller, Living Closer, and Driving Less are the keys to sustainability. Design issues to be resolved are: the selection and processing footprint suitable for the needs of a superblock, and can support both business and commercial activity as main activity, as well as residential and recreational activities as secondary activities. The results are a design of superblock area is able to accommodate business activities and commercial (work), residential, and recreation with the support of public transportation access with the Green Metropolis approach. Keywords: Business Superblock, Green Metropolis, Business and Commercial, Mix-Used.

Abstract

: Jalan Yosodipuro is a local path that connects the city of Surakarta to downtown. Jalan Yosodipuro is a strategic area close to the main line of Surakarta City, Jalan Slamet Riyadi. The development of economic activity in this streets has began since the construction of a Mall that Solo Paragon Mall. As trade and service area began to grow, commercial activities dominate land use along the road Yosodipuro complement previous activities: education and housing. Means of trade and services in the form of a shop and even the development of the home into a place of business functions are often found along Jalan Yosodipuro. The high activity in this region causes the amount of movement of the vehicle is not able to be accommodated by the existing road capacity.To overcome this problem researchers conducted a study on the evaluation of the performance of the road to the development of trading activities and services. The analytical method used in this study is the analysis of the development of trade and services activities include the development of the number of business units, floor area, extensive land use and range of activities. Analysis of changes in the performance of roads which include changes in the flow of vehicles, number of occurrences side barriers, and the capacity of the road and analysis croosstab. From the overall results of analysis show that the activity of trade and services in the Yosodipuro Road experienced growth from 2010 - 2014. The development of trade and services activities cause a disturbance in the traffic activity in  Yosodipuro Road. From the research that has been conducted found that the development of trade and services activities in road Yosodipuro large influence on changes in the side barrier and the amount of traffic flow, as well as the effect being to change the capacity of the road. Keywords: Degree of Saturation, Levels of Service, Road

Abstract

Surakarta City has some problems of settlement, one of which is illegal settlement in the river bank. One of government’s programs to deal with it is relocation program. One of beneficiaries of the program is Kelurahan Sewu residence which was relocated to Kelurahan Mojosongo residence. The objective of settlement relocation is to make the people get appropriate house and environment free of flood disaster usually encountered by them annually. The parameter used to evaluate the aspects in this research was based on the standard for appropriate settlement environment. This study was conducted to find out the compatibility of standard appropriate settlement environment application to post-relocation settlement based on the existing condition and public opinion. A descriptive comparative analysis was conducted to find out the extent to which standard appropriate settlement was applied. The study found that relocation settlement environment condition based on the result of observation and public opinion get total scoring of 2.763. From the scoring obtained, it could be seen that data of field condition and public opinion indicated that post-relocation settlement in Kelurahan Mojosongo from Kelurahan Sewu had met category “appropriate/suitable” to standard appropriate settlement. This explanation suggested that relocation conducted from river bank settlement in Kelurahan Sewu to Kelurahan Mojosongo helped the people meet their need for settlement with appropriate condition. People could get better life compared with that in previous location before receiving relocation.

Abstract

Abstract: Fine Arts Center with Neo Vernacular Architectural approach is an integrated institution for variety fine arts activities producing two and three dimensional works and the institution are equipped with infrastructure and facility with a design approach that is able to apply cultural, environmental, and local climate elements expressed in a modern architectural building. The underlying reason of the design of Fine Arts Center Building is many art potentials found in Surakarta, but they had no a representative public establishment to promote fine art development of Surakarta. The emerging design problem is how to plan and to design a building of Fine Arts Center in Surakarta by using Neo Vernacular Architectural approach. Abstract

Terminal is included in the transportation network system which functions as a place for passengers to take the bus and a place to drop the passengers. Terminal is also the element of spatial arrangement which influences the structure and system of a town’s movement. The development of Giri Adipura Terminal in Singodutan Village which was done from 2010 to 2014 is aimed to recover the performance of previous terminal and to develop the surrounding area. Phenomenon which was happened in Giri Adipura Terminal is there were still many passengers who were not utilizing the terminal function and the public transportations were not entering the terminal in order. This research was done to know the performance of Giri Adipura Terminal function in transportation system in Wonogiri Regency. The used research method was quantitative with deductive approach. The used analysis technique was scoring, by determined the parameter and indicator in each variabel. The result of scoring calculation from the performance of Giri Adipura Terminal function in transportation system in Wonogiri Regency was 9.33. Based on the performance of terminal function category, 9.33 score was in range of 6.68—9.35, so it was included in the average performance category. Thus, the performance of Giri Adipura Terminal function in transportation system in Wonogiri Regency has not reach a good performance yet and it needs some things which should be done to reach that performance. For the performance of each variable, variables which were in the good performance category were accessibility and traffic management. Meanwhile, variables which were in the average category were terminal service and transportation movement access. Keywords: performance, terminal function, transportation system
