UNM Journal of Biological Education with p-ISSN 2581-1959 and e-ISSN 2581-1967 publishes the latest research into the biology teaching and learning, assessment of biology learning, development of biology teaching and learning strategy, development of biology teaching media. The journal aims to bridge the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion, in addition to critical examinations of advances in biology teaching and learning research. Special emphasis is placed on research relevant to educational practices, guided by educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. Articles that are theoretically informed and methodologically rigorous are welcomed. It is owned by The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Makassar. Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem-based learningterhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Gowa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian eksperimen semu pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Keterampilan berpikir kritis diukur dengan menggunakan tes essay pada materi sistem sirkulasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan anakova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) rata-rata nilai keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model problem-based learningadalah 73 yang masuk dalam kategori tinggi; (2) terdapat pengaruh pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem-based learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan nilai signifikansi 0.00.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a product in a form of teaching material of a biology e-module which is expected to assist teachers and students learn about cell division. The method used is research and development by adapting the ADDIE development model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The stages of analysis are conducted by analyzing the curriculum used, the students’ characteristics, and the use of current technology. Followed by design and development, namely the manufacture of e-module, product validation and revision. The next stage is implementation with a trial of applying the e-biology module to students. The last stage is evaluation, namely analyzing the results of the final revision. The research instruments used were instrument validation sheet, teacher’s response questionnaires, students’ questionnaires, and learning outcomes test. The sample of the study were students of grade XII MIA at SMAN 1 Nunukan. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that 1) the Biology e[1]module learning media on cell division material meets the valid criteria with a mean score of 4.5 (valid); 2) the Biology e-module learning media on cell division material meets the practical criteria based on the result of the teachers’ responses by 83.48% (very positive) and the result of the students’ responses is 85.63% (positive); 3) the Biology e-module learning media on cell division material meets the effective criteria with the percentage of learning outcomes completeness of 88.57% (very good). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Biology e-module learning media on cell division material has met valid, practical, and effective criteria.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar berupa LKPD berbasis Learning Cycle 7E pada materi sistem reproduksi manusia yang bersifat valid, praktis dan efektif. Subjek penelitian adalah guru biologi dan peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 1 di SMAN 7 Pinrang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) yang mengadaptasi model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data kevalidan diperoleh melalui lembar validasi instrumen penelitian pada materi sistem reproduksi manusia, data kepraktisan diperoleh melalui angket respon guru dan angket respon peserta didik, dan data keefektifan diperoleh melalui tes hasil belajar peserta didik. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata total kevalidan pengembangan produk berada pada kategori sangat valid (4,54). Hasil respon memenuhi kriteria kepraktisan karena rata-rata respon peserta didik terhadap pengembangan produk berada pada kategori sangat parktis (88,39%) dan rata rata nilai respon guru terhadap pengembangan produk berada pada kategori sangat praktis (81,33%). Pengembangan produk memenuhi kriteria keefektifan karena jumlah peserta didik yang memperoleh nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,68 yang berada pada kategori sedang dan untuk persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar peserta didik berada pada kategori sangat efektif (86,20%). Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD berbasis Learning Cycle 7E yang dikembangkan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif serta dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to (i) analyze how metacognitive skills are; (ii) analyze how learning motivation is; (iii) analyze how science learning outcomes (iv) analyze the relationship between metacognitive skills and science learning outcomes; (v) analyze the relationship between learning motivation and science learning outcomes; (vi) analyze the relationship between metacognitive skills and learning motivation with learning outcomes together with science learning outcomes for class VIII SMP Negeri Makassar City students. This research is an ex-post facto research. The population in the study was all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri in Ujung Pandang sub-district, Makassar City in the 2021-2022 academic year with a total of 717 students. The research sample was 345 students using cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques are questionnaires and documentation. Data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results showed that (i) students' metacognition skills were classified as moderate, (ii) students' learning motivation was classified as moderate (iii) students' science learning outcomes were in the medium category, (iv) there was a relationship between metacognitive skills and science learning outcomes, (v) there were there is a relationship between learning motivation and learning outcomes in Biology, (vi) there is a relationship between metacognitive skills and learning motivation with science learning outcomes for eighth grade students of SMP Negeri in Ujung Pandang District, Makassar City.

Abstract

Pengaruh Pembelajaran Berbasis Literasi Sains Terhadap Aktivitas dan Hasil Belajar Materi Perubahan Lingkungan Kelas X SMA. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis literasi sains terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar materi perubahan lingkungan kelas X SMA. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran berbasis literasi sains, sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X MIA MA As’adiyah Putri Sengkang Kabupaten Wajo sebanyak 5 kelas, sedangkan sampelnya adalah kelas X MIA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah siswa 22 orang dan kelas X MIA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah siswa 23 orang. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dengan mengisi lembar observasi aktivitas belajar, memberi tes hasil belajar kognitif, pengisian angket hasil belajar afektif, dan mengisi lembar observasi psikomotorik pada materi perubahan lingkungan. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t dan analisis covariat (Anacova). Hasil analisis statistika inferensial menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas belajar memiliki P < 0,001; hasil belajar kognitif memiliki P <0,001; hasil belajar afektif memiliki P < 0,001; dan hasil belajar psikomotorik memiliki P 0,043; atau semua nilai P < 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis literasi sains berpengaruh secara segnifikan terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar materi perubahan lingkungan kelas X SMA.

Abstract

Good behavior in maintaining health can improve a person's quality of life for the better and more prosperous. One of them is by implementing clean and healthy living behavior. Clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) can be influenced by several factors, including environmental knowledge factors and socioeconomic status factors. Knowing the relationship between environmental knowledge and socio-economic status on the clean and healthy behavior of the community in Bontosunggu Fisherman Village, Selayar Islands Regency. Research design Correlation descriptive method with cross sectional approach. random sampling technique, a total sample of 125 respondents is the Head of the Family of the Fisherman Village of Bontosunggu. based on the results of the Pearson correlation for environmental knowledge and socioeconomic status is 0.486. This implies that environmental knowledge and socioeconomic status have a significant relationship with the achievement of clean and healthy living behavior in the moderate category and form a positive relationship. The results of the study found that there was a relationship between environmental knowledge and socioeconomic status with Clean and Healthy Behavior of the Bontosunggu Fisherman Village community. It is hoped that the community will be more active in seeking health information related to Clean and Healthy Living Behavior so that they have good knowledge about Clean and Healthy Life Behavior and will be motivated to do or apply it in their family.

Abstract

Interactive multimedia of living things growth and development was developed with the aim of producing learning media that is interactive multimedia which is valid and practical. Interactive multimedia developed the form of mind maps that are in development using mindjet mindmanager application. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) using ADDIE development model, which has included analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subject of this research was expert lecturers as subjects who assessed the research tools and tested the validity of interactive multimedia, biology teacher and student of XII MIA 5 at SMAN 14 Gowa as the subject who tested the practicality of interactive multimedia. Research result showed that interactive multimedia is valid and practical. The validity value obtained 96.78% (very valid), while the practicality value obtained from teacher’s response is 96.59% (very practical), and the practicality value obtained from student’s response is 86.33% (very practical). So that, it can be concluded that the interactive multimedia learning media that developed were suitable to use.

Abstract

This research is a correlational quantitative descriptive research that aims to determine the relationship between socio-economic status and environmental attitudes towards clean living behavior (PHBS) in Awangpone District, Bone Regency, the independent variable in this study is Socio-Economic Status, while the dependent variable is clean living behavior and healthy. The population in this study was the people of Awangpone District, Bone Regency. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique is descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Based on the results of inferential data analysis, it was found that there was a positive and significant relationship between environmental attitudes and clean and healthy living behavior at the level of a very strong relationship. Socioeconomic status with clean and healthy living behavior has a positive and significant relationship. Socio-economic status with clean and healthy living behavior is at a very strong relationship level. The biggest effective contribution to the dependent variable (Clean and Healthy Living Behavior) is given by socioeconomic status 34.0% and environmental attitude 51.3%. The total effective contribution is 85.3%, which means that socio-economic status and environmental attitudes together provide an effective contribution of 85.3% to the clean and healthy living behavior of the Awangpone sub-district, Bone district, while 14.7% is influenced by factors not examined.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is a quasi experimental posttest only control group design and pretest–posttest non equivalent control group design which aims to determine the differences in motivation, independence, and learning outcomes of students. The sample of this study was selected in survei and selected class XI MIPA 1 as the experimental class and XI MIPA 2 as the control class. Data collection techniques through the provision of questionnaires to measure motivation and learning independence and the provision of multiple choice tests to measure biology learning outcomes. The data analysis technique used is descriptive and inferential statistical analysis with t-test. The results showed that (1) learning motivation through flip book learning media and textbook learning media for Barrang Lompo Island High School Makassar students were on average in the high category and the medium category. (2) Learning independence through flip book learning media and textbook learning media for Barrang Lompo Island High School Makassar students are on average in the high category and the medium category. (3) Learning outcomes through flip book learning media and textbook learning media for students at Barrang Lompo Island High School Makassar are on average in the high category and the medium category. (4) There are differences in learning motivation through flip book learning media and textbook learning media for students at Barrang Lompo Island High School Makassar. (5) There are differences in learning independence through flip book learning media and textbook learning media for students at Barrang Lompo Island High School Makassar. Abstract

This study is a development research (Research & Development) which aims to produce an interactive multimedia product based on Articulate Storyline which is valid, practical, and effective and to analyze the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness as well as the relationship between the practicality and effectiveness on the development of Articulate Storyline-Based Interactive Multimedia in the Material Classification and Its Changes Subject for Grade VII students at SMPN 2 Maros. The study employed ADDIE development model, which included five stages of activities, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research was conducted at SMPN 2 Maros with research subjects namely students of grade VII A with 30 people and teachers of science subject with 27 people. The research instruments used were interactive multimedia validation sheets based on Articulate Storyline, teachers’ response questionnaires and students’ response questionnaires, as well as test instruments in the form of multiple choice questions. Data on the level of validity and practicality were collected using questionnaires and data on the level of effectiveness employed learning outcomes test. Based on the analysis results of interactive multimedia validity data based on Articulate Storyline developed, it has an average value of 4.7 which is in valid category. The results of the teacher's response questionnaire obtain a total average score percentage of 88.90 with a very positive response category and the students’ responses obtain a total average score percentage of 83.90 with a very positive response category. The percentage of students passing is 90, which is in effective category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the interactive multimedia based on Articulate Storyline which was developed using the ADDIE model, has met the valid, practical, and effective categories.
