UNM Journal of Biological Education with p-ISSN 2581-1959 and e-ISSN 2581-1967 publishes the latest research into the biology teaching and learning, assessment of biology learning, development of biology teaching and learning strategy, development of biology teaching media. The journal aims to bridge the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion, in addition to critical examinations of advances in biology teaching and learning research. Special emphasis is placed on research relevant to educational practices, guided by educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. Articles that are theoretically informed and methodologically rigorous are welcomed. It is owned by The Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Makassar. Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of problems in the field based on the results of interviews with biology teachers class X MIPA 5 Senior High School that the learning resources used in the biology learning process, especially about the material of plant world, are still conventional and their availability is still very lacking, make students bored. In addition, based on the analysis of the needs students as much as 100 requires learning resources that are more innovative and based technology. The purpose of this research is to develop biological learning resources based on picture cards completely by media game OBINO on valid and practical on plant world. This research is a type of research and development using the ADDIE model and produces learning resources for Flora Angiospermae. The results of expert validator on the learning resources of Flora Angiospermae are very valid based on the percentage of validator assessment, which is 91.80% and are very practical based on the percentage of practitioner assessment (teacher response), namely 92.00% and the percentage of practitioner assessment (student response) 91.08%, so it is feasible used in the learning process.[R1]  Keywords: Game OBINO, Learning Resources, Plant world, Picture Cards.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa modul bioteknologi berbasis potensi lokal sebagai sumber belajar siswa kelas XII di SMAN 13 Luwu Utara. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (R&D) yang mengacu pada model pengembangan desain ADDIE, yang terdiri dari lima tahap, yaitu tahap analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi instrumen, angket respon guru, angket respon siswa, dan tes hasil belajar. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII IPA I SMAN 13 Luwu Utara. Hasil analisis data diperoleh rata-rata validitas modul oleh dua ahli validator yaitu 4,5 yang berada pada kategori valid. Kepraktisan modul mendapat tanggapan guru sebesar 93,33% berada pada kategori sangat praktis, dan tanggapan siswa sebesar 73,33% berada pada kategori praktis. Keefektifan modul diperoleh 70% siswa yang tuntas berada pada kategori efektif. Selain itu, diperoleh hasil tabulasi silang antara respon siswa dan hasil belajar dengan Signifikansi Asimptotik adalah 0,004 < 0,05 sehingga kesimpulannya terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara kepraktisan dengan keefektifan modul bioteknologi berbasis potensi lokal.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an animated video-based practicum learning media on the digestive system material in class XI SMA Negeri 21 Makassar that is valid, practical and effective. The type of this study is research and development (R&D) by adapting the 4-D development model which of the stages of definition (Define), design (Design), development (Development), and dissemination (Disseminate). Data collection uses expert validation sheets to collect media validity data, teacher and student response questionnaires to examine the practicality of the media and learning outcomes tests to see the effectiveness of the media. This study was conducted from November to June 2021 at SMA Negeri 21 Makassar. The results showed that the animation video-based practicum learning media on the digestive system material in class XI SMA has met the criteria for good media. In addition, the developed media has met the validity criteria with a validity value of 87.6%, the category is very valid. Meet the practicality criteria with the teacher's response value is 79% in the practical category and the student response is 76.86% in the practical category. Meet the effective criteria with an average value of 96,87% of students in the effective category. Therefore, the conclusion of the study is the animated video-based practicum learning media developed meets the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness.

Abstract

The study is a quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental design) which aims to examine the influence of Problem Based Learning model on learning outcomes and students’ learning motivation at MTsS Nurul Yaqin Benteng in Selayar Islands district. The population in this study were all students of MTsS Nurul Yaqin Benteng of grade VIII for academic year of 2021/2022. Samples were taken by using Random Sample technique. The learning motivation data were collected by using learning motivation questionnaire; whereas, the learning outcomes data were collected by using multiple choice test. Data were analyzed by employing descriptive analysis and t-test on SPSS version 23.0. The results of the study reveal that the students who were taught by using the Problem Based Learning model experienced an increase in learning outcomes which is in high category. Meanwhile, the students who were taught by using direct learning also experienced an increase in learning outcomes and learning motivation which is in high category. The results of hypothesis testing using the t-test show the learning outcomes sig (2-tailed) > α 0.05 or 0.000 > α 0.05. H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Based on the test criteria, it can be concluded that there is an influence of implementing the Problem Based Learning model on learning outcomes and students’ learning motivation on Human Digestive System material in grade VIII at MTsS Nurul Yaqin Benteng in Selayar Islands district.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran Biologi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pre-eksperimental design dengan menggunakan One Group Pretest-Postest. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 5 Takalar. Sampel penelitian dipilih dengan tujuan tertentu (purposive sampling) yaitu teknik penentuan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu sehingga diperoleh satu kelas yaitu kelas XI MIA 1 yang berjumlah 27 siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan secara full daring. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu melalui tes. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata posttest 81.04 lebih tinggi daripada nilai rata-rata pretest yaitu 54.26. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi di SMA Negeri 5 Takalar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari tahapan analyze, design, development, implementation dan evaluation. Sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik SMAN 1 Wonomulyo kelas XI MIPA 5. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari - Juni 2021. Buku ajar berbantuan kartu kwartet yang dikembangkan berdasarkan komponen pembelajaran kontekstual yaitu constructivism, questioning, inquiry, learning community, modeling, reflection dan authentic assessment. Buku ajar berbantuan kartu kwartet yang dikembangkan kemudian diuji validitas hingga dinyatakan valid oleh validator lalu diimplementasikan untuk mengetahui observasi keterlaksanaan, respon guru dan respon peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar berbantuan kartu kwartet yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria kevalidan (4,7), kepraktisan dari hasil lembar observasi keterlaksanaan berada pada kategori terlaksana dengan baik (4.5), respon guru berada pada kategori sangat positif (90%), respon peserta didik berada pada kategori sangat positif  (86%). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku ajar berbantuan kartu kwartet yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis.

Abstract

This article discusses the differences in learning motivation and learning outcomes of students at SMA Negeri 1 Makassar who are taught through video learning media and mobile learning. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The research design used is Non-equivalent control[1]group design. The variables in this study are the independent variables, namely video learning media and mobile learning, the dependent variable is learning motivation and student learning outcomes. Sampling in this study was done by random sampling technique. One class uses video learning media and the other class uses mobile learning. The results showed that there were significant differences in students' motivation and learning outcomes in classes taught through video learning media and mobile learning. The motivation and learning outcomes of students' biology showed that the class that used mobile learning showed an increase in motivation and better learning outcomes than the class that used video learning media. So it can be concluded that there are differences in the motivation and learning outcomes of biology students who are taught through video learning media and mobile learning in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Makassar.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Raden Ika Hasriana, 2021. The type of research used is research and development (R&D), which aims to develop an Electronic Module based on Project-Based Learning assisted by Flip PDF Professional on Biology science material which is valid and practical. The development procedure used in this study was a 4D model consisted of Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination. Data collection employed product validity instruments by expert validators, product practicality assessment instruments validation format for teachers and students, and product practicality assessment instruments by teachers and students. The results of the expert validators on the Electronic Module are "very valid" based on the validator's assessment percentage, which is 95.90%. It is stated to be valid because the Electronic Module based on Project-Based Learning developed has met the validity criteria. In addition, the Electronic Module is "practical" based on the percentage of practitioners’ assessments (teachers' responses), which is 78.95% and is "very practical" based on the percentage of practitioners’ assessments (student responses), which is 85.27%. Electronic module is said to be practical because teachers and students respond positively to the Electronic Module.ABSTRAK. Raden Ika Hasriana, 2021. Prosedur pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model 4D yang terdiri dari Define (pendefinisian), Design (perancangan), Development (pengembangan) dan Dissemination (penyebarluasan). Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen kevalidan produk oleh validator ahli, format validasi instrumen penilaian kepraktisan produk untuk guru dan peserta didik serta instrumen penilaian kepraktisan produk oleh guru dan peserta didik. Adapun hasil dari validator ahli terhadap Modul Elektronik yaitu bersifat “sangat valid” berdasarkan persentase penilaian validator yaitu 95.90%. Dikatakan valid karena Modul Elektronik berbasis project based learning yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria kevalidan. Selain itu, Modul Elektronik bersifat “praktis” berdasarkan persentase penilaian praktisi (respon guru) yaitu 78.95% serta bersifat “sangat praktis” berdasarkan persentase penilaian praktisi (respon peserta didik) yaitu 85.27%. Modul elektronik dikatakan praktis karena guru dan peserta didik memberikan respon yang positif terhadap Modul Elektronik.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing jigsaw integrated PBL on students' attitudes and learning outcomes. The method used is descriptive and inferential analysis method. In this study, there are three attitude indicators studied, namely: cognitive, affective, and conative. The indicator of learning outcomes studied is the cognitive aspect. The population of this study was the entire class IX class of SMPN 1 Pallangga, totaling 11 classes for the 2021/2022 academic year on the subject of inheritance. The experimental class was taught using the jigsaw cooperative integrated PBL learning model and the control class using the PBL learning model. Class IX.7 was chosen as the experimental class with 16 students and class IX.5 as the control class with 16 students. Sampling was done randomly to determine the sample class from the population. The instrument used was a Likert model of science learning attitude questionnaire, and a multiple-choice learning outcome test. The results of the research and data analysis showed that there was an effect of implementing the integrated jigsaw PBL on the attitudes and learning outcomes of science students in class IX SMPN 1 Pallangga.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan emosional, kepercayaan diri dan motivasi belajar terhadap hasil belajar biologi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian ex post facto dengan populasi seluruh peserta didik kelas XI SMAN di Kecamatan Sinjai Utara, Kabupaten Sinjai yaitu SMAN 1 Sinjai dan SMAN 5 Sinjai. Jumlah populasi sebanyak 343 orang dan berdasarkan perhitungan sampel menggunakan rumus Slovin, diperoleh sampel sebanyak 238 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa angket kecerdasan emosional, kepercayaan diri dan motivasi belajar serta dokumentasi hasil belajar biologi peserta didik. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Variabel penelitian ini terdiri dari variabel bebas yaitu kecerdasan emosional dan kepercayaan diri, variabel terikat yaitu hasil belajar dan variabel intervening yaitu motivasi belajar. Berdasarkan hasil analisis inferensial dengan uji analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar. Kepercayaan diri berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar. Kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar. Kepercayaan diri berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar. Motivasi belajar berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar. Kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh secara langsung terhadap hasil belajar tanpa melalui motivasi belajar. Kepercayaan diri berpengaruh secara langsung terhadap hasil belajar tanpa melalui motivasi belajar.
