Abstract

The effluent discharged from the batik textile industry often contains azo compounds and organic contaminants. One method employed to address these pollutants is the Electrofenton (EF) technique. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of electrofenton in reducing both color content and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) in batik dyeing effluent. The Electrofenton process was conducted in batch mode, varying electrode distances at 4 cm and 6 cm, H2O2:FeSO4 molarity ratios of (10:0.05) and (10:0.1), and electric voltage strengths at 6 volts and 8 volts. The research revealed that employing an electric voltage of 8 volts, an electrode distance of 4 cm, a contact time of 120 minutes, and a Fenton dosage molarity of 10:0.05 M resulted in a remarkable removal efficiency of 97.8% with a final concentration of 103 mg/L for color content. Additionally, for COD, employing the same parameters led to a removal effectiveness of 90.1%, with a final concentration of 730 PtCo. The impact of Fenton dosage on COD removal was statistically analyzed using the t-test. The computed t-value of 3.444 surpassed the tabulated t-value of 2.776, indicating a significant influence of Fenton dosage on COD removal.

Abstract

The potential applications of paper made from kepok banana peel include greeting cards, book covers, and other art and craft projects. The use of kepok banana peel in papermaking adds a new dimension and unique artistic value to the field. Furthermore, it has a positive impact on the environment by reducing agricultural waste that would otherwise be discarded. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the volume of NaOH solution on the mass of kepok banana peel and the ripening time needed to produce the best pulp according to SNI 7274:2008 and SNI 14-6519-2001 standards. The study involved testing different volumes of solvent, ranging from 300 mL to 700 mL, and conducting the delignification process for 60 to 120 minutes with 30-minute intervals. The resulting pulp was then utilized in the papermaking process. Based on the conducted study, the optimum operating conditions were achieved using a solvent volume of 500 mL for a duration of 90 minutes. The analysis revealed a cellulose content of 90.8%, lignin content of 5.02%, water content of 16.85%, and paper tear resistance of 444.584 mN.

Abstract

Abstract contains of maximum 200 words Security system solutions for strategically important facilities are put in place to prevent unauthorized access. There are numerous automated access control systems available, but they are relatively expensive and difficult to use. The goal of this research is to create a security system that combines voice recognition and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to reduce costs while providing optimal security. This system is based on the Raspberry PI, and it uses RFID reading to scan and identify the user, as well as voice recognition to grant entry by opening the door. The microcontroller also provides access via a visual display in the form of a liquid crystal display for easy identification of the server room access control. Identity information and voice recognition are saved in a database, which can be accessed at any time. The RFID reader can scan a tag within 20 cm in two seconds and perform voice recognition in one second. The data is stored in the database after the two types of access control are identified and recognized. To open the door, the motor will move. This system is designed for ten users and has a 1% error rate

Abstract

Abstract Production machine maintenance is an activity to maintain the machine's reliability to operate as planned. Apart from reliability, evaluating the effectiveness of the machine is also equally important. Therefore, this research has two main objectives: determining the system's criticality and increasing the effectiveness value of using forklifts using reliability analysis and machine's effectiveness (ME). The research began with collecting operation and maintenance data to calculate the initial conditions of machine reliability and effectiveness. The initial reliability calculation results were 36.79%. Availability is 98.89%, performance is 93.53%, and ME value is 92.49%. The performance value is still below world-class standards, so it needs to be improved. Next, rank the problem using the Pareto diagram for determining system criticality. Efforts to increase performance values to reach world-class standards are carried out by analyzing maintainability and implementing a policy that maintainability values are at least 50% for forklifts and their critical systems. As a result, the availability value increased to 99.74%, the performance value increased to 95.57%, and the ME value increased to 95.32%. So availability, performance, and ME meet the requirements because they exceed world-class standards. Therefore, companies can implement a forklift maintenance policy using maintainability of at least 50% reliability to increase the value of availability, performance, and ME. Abstract

Jetis Batik Village is a Sidoarjo batik center that produces typical Sidoarjo handwritten batik. The batik processing process produces textile waste which must be processed before being discharged into the environment. Many producers, both large and household scale, have one thing in common, namely producing liquid waste, containing dyes, suspended solids, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) that need to be managed before being discharged into water bodies. One way of processing that can be done is by using adsorbents. Lapindo mud and Blood Clam shells are abundant natural materials that can be used to process textile waste. Varying adsorbent mass ratios were carried out to determine the optimal adsorbent ratio for processing textile waste. Variations in mass of Blood Clamshells and Lapindo mud (1:0, 0:1, 1:1, 1:2, 2:1). The best variation in reducing COD was variation C (1 g Lapindo mud and 1 g Blood Clam shell) with a removal efficiency of 89.13%. The best variation in reducing TDS is variation E (2 g Lapindo mud and 1 g Blood Clam shell) with an efficiency of 86.07%. The TSS removal efficiency showed relatively the same results 33.33%.

Abstract

Duta Sumber Ayem Niaga adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang produksi beras. Banyaknya pesaing baru menyebabkan turunnya tingkat penjualan 20% UD. Duta Sumber Ayem Niaga dari tahun sebelumnya, untuk mengembangkan strateginya perlu menggunakan metode SWOT untuk mengidentifikasi faktor internal dan eksternal perusahaan dan AHP untuk menilai bobot pendukung keputusan strategi. Dengan harapan setelah menggunakan metode SWOT dan AHP UD. Duta Sumber Ayem Niaga dapat mengembangkan strateginya guna bersaing dengan kompetitornya. Setelah dilakukan identifikasi menggunakan metode SWOT posisi perusahaan berada pada titik koordinat kuadran I yang artinya penyusunan strategi alternatif mengarah pada penerapan strategi pertumbuhan dan mendukung kebijakan pertumbuhan yang agresif dengan memanfaatkan peluang yang ada serta kekuatan internal yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan sehingga memberikan value bagi usahanya. Berdasarkan hasil pembobotan AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process), dapat disimpulkan bahwa alternatif strategi SO 1 (Mempertahankan harga, meningkatkan kualitas dan inovasi varian produk tanpa bahan pengawet untuk meningkatkan loyalitas konsumen dan mendapatkan keuntungan yang menjanjikan) memiliki nilai bobot paling tinggi yang artinya strategi ini perlu diprioritaskan terlebih dahulu untuk mencapai tujuan perusahaan yaitu mengembangkan strategi usaha untuk bersaing dengan kompetitornya.

Abstract

This research focuses on integrating lean thinking into a sanitary product manufacturing company, specifically through the identification and elimination of waste. The implementation of the Lean DMAI framework (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve) is utilized as a continuous improvement strategy to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Various tools such as Pareto diagrams, root cause analysis, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) are employed in the stages of defining, measuring, analyzing, and providing improvement recommendations. Results of the study revealed that the waste with the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN) is in the form of defects, particularly in the sub-category of body cracks. The recommended improvement actions include the installation of temperature sensors and misting equipment, along with the application of damp cloths in the lower leg area. These measures aim to slow down the body shrinkage process.

Abstract

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) sangat penting bagi perusahaan (Desalinasi) dalam proses pemurnian air laut menjadi air minum. OEE yang biasa dikenal Perhitungan Effektivitas Peralatan Total (PEPT) digunakan untuk meminimasi downtime yang sering terjadi secara berkesinambungan guna meningkatkan effectivitas mesin sesuai dengan standar pemeliharaanyang menyatakan pengecekan setiap saat dengan menggunakan Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) sebaagai alat ukur (Metrik) untuk mengetahui besarnya effektivitas peningkatan kualitas peralatan mesin yang dimiliki. Berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) dengan nilai Availability = 43,33 nilai Performance Efficiency -12,37% dan nilai Quality Rate = 100 % dan hasil OEE = -43,59%. Ini menujukkan bahwa kualitas mesin tetap handal dalam melakukan permurnian air laut menjadi air baku.

Abstract

Economic growth in Indonesia is increasing rapidly. In Indonesia, the growth of startups is increasing along with the continued development of the digital industry. The emergence of startups in Indonesia began in 2010 which was pioneered by the presence of startups Tokopedia and Blanja.com. PT. XYZ as a state-owned enterprise supports the development of startups by providing digital creative facilities, funding, and expanding market access, specifically to accelerate their industrial growth. The amount of funding that PT XYZ will provide to startups also varies according to the startup development stage and the company value (valuation) of the startup. The valuation calculation that is currently being carried out by PT. XYZ is by using the First Chicago method as the calculation method. However, in its application, there are still several calculation components that have not been standardized. The absence of standards for some of the components of this calculation can affect the size of the calculated startup valuation figures. This will have an indirect impact on startups, investors and stakeholders. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the standard setting on the three components of valuation calculations or business appraisals at startups carried out by PT. XYZ and to establish improvement evaluation standards for determining the three components of calculations in the first Chicago method. In this study, the results of the startup assessment are the dependent variable while the annual average growth rate, stock value size and discount rate are the independent variables. The sample population used in this study were startups who became alumni of PT. XYZ. The analytical method used is using linear regression.

Abstract

PT. Betts Indonesia is a manufacturing company that produces laminate tubes. In the production process, several materials used in the production process to become finished products. The problems found in this study are the irregularity of the layout of production materials, often the placement of materials that are not in accordance with the material specifiedFor the flow of raw materials, bottlenecks often occur because the existing lines are narrow, so they have to alternate with each other, which causes a decrease in the efficiency of the production process. The method in this study uses the Activity Realition chartto improve the material flow that has been carried out currently with the aim of rearranging the layout of efficient production facilities so as to optimize material handling. From the results of this study it is expected to rearrange the flow of raw materials more efficiently so that the level of the production process can produce the maximum production process from the targets set by the company.
