Abstract

This study aims to discover the relationship between extrovert students' and their writing ability at the university level. The study was conducted from March to April 2023 at the Jinarakkhita Buddhist College Bandar Lampung. The population of the research was the second-semester Buddhist Education Department students in the academic year 2022-2023. The researchers used a rubric score to analyze and measure the students' recount text writing ability before and after treatment. The data were collected by administering essay writing pre-tests and post-tests. The data were collected from a writing test used to assess students' writing abilities, and a series of analyses were performed, beginning with examining the reliability of the questionnaire and the association between the score and students' personalities. The result showed increased pre-test and post-test average scores from 49.9 to 65.1. In addition, this study found that second-semester students' writing abilities have improved due to the use of communication skill-based writing instruction (CSBWI) to promote extrovert students' as they are more expressive in conducting ideas.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role and position of women in Islam with the argument that there is a distinct practice of patriarchy in Islam. Therefore, this research searches for the principles of equality and justice that may be contained in the Al-Quran and Hadith, as well as some examples of the life of the Prophet Muhammad and the practice of the early period of Islam showing women's active participation in various aspects of life. This research shows the findings that support the perspective of Islamic teachings which are in line with the principles of gender equality. The method used in this study is through literature study accumulating from some previous research to explain how religious texts, such as the Qur'an and Hadith are interpreted to shape gender dynamics in Islamic societies, and the factors that influence patriarchal manifestations in Islamic societies. The article shows that this essay contends that it is important to socialize the universalist values found in Islamic holy scriptures that support justice, respect women's rights, and work toward achieving equality between different genders that can be implemented in Muslim societies. The dissemination of this gender-sensitive interpretation of Islamic literature should aim to raise public knowledge of issues relating to women's rights and gender equality in Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of Social Influence, Perceived Security and Perceived Ease of Use on interest (Purchase Intention) in becoming a digital bank customer. The digitization of financial transactions has played an important role in transforming traditional payment methods into digital payment methods and has led to changes in consumer behavior around the world. Decreasing transactions through branches and transactions decrease through ATMs was inversely proportional to the rapid increase in the use of mobile banking. On the other hand, digital banks are also starting to appear to offer more effective and efficient banking services. However, to be accepted and developed, digital banks need to understand what factors (variables) really affect their success in being accepted in the market. The method of data collection was carried out using a questionnaire method with 61 questions to 113 respondents who already had bank accounts in JABODETABEK. The data analysis technique used SPSS (version 22) using a significance level of 5%. The results showed that Social Influence, Perceived Security and Perceived Ease of Use had a simultaneous and significant effect on interest (purchase intention) in becoming a digital bank customer.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of communication skill-based writing instruction on the student writing ability. The researcher used a pretest-posttest experimental group design. The research was conducted from April to May 2023 in the Jinarakkhita Buddhist College Bandar Lampung. The researchers used the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25 program to analyze the data. A rubric score was used to analyze and measure the students' narrative text writing ability before and after treatment. The student's writing ability improved from 49.9 to 65.1. In addition, the researcher found that students who previously struggled to write now have a growing understanding of how to gather information and confidently use CSBWI in their writing. Therefore, it is critical to use a suitable and effective method to assist students in overcoming the difficulty of their writing achievement.

Abstract

Financial performance is needed by companies to find out and evaluate the level of success of the company based on the financial activities that have been carried out. In the process of assessing the performance of company management, one of the important criteria used is the size of the company's financial performance. In order to be able to evaluate the results of the work of company management in the financial sector, various financial information is used resulting from the accounting processes carried out by the company. The research approach used in this research is a quantitative approach. The population in this study were 25 companies in the IDX Palm Oil Plantation Industry sector for the 2018-2022 period. The sample selection was used using a purposive sampling method, so that the samples in this study were 23 companies in the IDX Palm Oil Plantation Industry sector for the 2018-2022 period. The analysis technique used is simple linear regression. The conclusion in this study is that the Tax Planning variable has a significant effect on Financial Performance. The R2 (R Square) figure is 0.467. This shows that the percentage of the contribution of the independent variable consisting of Tax Planning to the dependent variable of Financial Performance is 46.7%. While the remaining 53.3% is influenced or explained by other variables not included in this research model.

Abstract

This study examines the tone of language in CSR disclosure and investigates the determinants of these sentiments. This study analyzes 418 CSR disclosures of banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2010 to 2021. This research is a quantitative research. The tools used in this research to analyze sentiment is Python. Then, the variables processed using Stata 15. The results show that the sentiment of CSR disclosures is correlated significantly with the company size. The larger companies tend to use sentiment in their CSR reports. Additional test of this study shows Covid-19 has a significant positive effect on CSR disclosure sentiment. Leverage and government ownership have a negative impact on the sentiment of CSR disclosure. Meanwhile, profitability and family ownership do not affect the sentiment of CSR disclosure. This research contributes to stakeholders in making comprehensive decisions related to corporate accountability.

Abstract

Restorative justice is basically a concept to restore the impact of a crime. This concept emerged due to the inability of the previous concept to accommodate the interests of the victim. One application of restorative justice that has recently occurred is the case of the police attack carried out by a female student with the initials HFR. The formulation of the problem raised is how to implement restorative justice according to criminal law in Indonesia and whether it is appropriate to apply restorative justice in the case of: assault by an officer while on duty. This research uses normative research with the nature of descriptive analytical research using secondary data collected by the technique of literature study and analyzed by deductive logic. The results of the research show that the concept of restorative justice in Indonesia has been applied in all lines of law enforcement, starting from the juvenile justice system, the scope of general justice, the prosecutor's office, the police, regional regulations to the penitentiary. Even though the provisions stipulated by each institution are still not in accordance with the standards. In addition, the application of restorative justice in this assault case actually fulfills the requirements and eligibility to carry out restorative justice, but on the other hand, restorative justice is carried out only as a "peaceful" effort without any real form of accountability from the perpetrator to restore the loss and damage suffered by the victim.

Abstract

Di era globalisasi yang sedang kita alami saat ini, peran teknologi telah menjadi sangat penting dalam mengubah lanskap bisnis secara fundamental. Teknologi telah mengintegrasikan dunia menjadi satu kesatuan yang lebih terhubung dan berinteraksi, meruntuhkan batasan geografis serta membuka peluang baru bagi bisnis untuk berkembang dan bersaing di skala global. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of investor sentiment, credit ratings, profitability, and leverage on stock returns. This study uses panel data analysis using the Panel Least Square method which is carried out on financial data on 30 companies that are members of the LQ45 composite index during the period 2017 to 2021. In this study, stock returns are the dependent variable, investor sentiment, credit ratings, profitability, and leverage become independent variables, and firm size, book to market ratio, also COVID19 become control variables. The study's findings indicate that the profitability variable has a significant effect on stock returns and other independent variables have no significant effect on stock returns. This study aims to assist investors in identifying and analyzing the variables that influence the company so that investors gain stock returns in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the practice of education in Muhammadiyah schools, in fostering a tolerant attitude as a form of prevention against the emergence of internal conflicts among Muslims. This research uses qualitative methods with a case study approach. The location of the study was in Purwokerto, Central Java, by taking a case at SMA Muhammadiyah 1. There were 22 research informants consisting of students, teachers, school management, parents, alumni, and foundation administrators. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data is analyzed with an interactive analysis model whose process includes data reduction, data presentation, and verification/conclusion. The results showed that in the midst of high expectations of Indonesian society for Islamic faith-based schools as "workshops" that can improve the morale of students, SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Purwokerto runs its educational process by implementing a curriculum that provides more portions and duration of time for religious subjects. Through the curriculum and interactions in daily life between students with different school of thought affiliations, the practice of religious education contributes to fostering tolerant values and attitudes. The growth of tolerance is also an effort to prevent intolerance in religious life among Muslims.
