Abstract

Education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and Madrasah Diniyah could be more optimal in maximizing students' religious, science, and technology education. Madrasah Ibtidaiyah combines the 2013 and independent curricula, but most teachers and parents consider Islamic learning less in-depth. Meanwhile, Madrasah Diniyah only focuses on religious teaching without including general knowledge. This research analyses the collaboration between Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) and Madrasah Diniyah (Madin). The research method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Data was obtained through observation, documentation and interviews. Data analysis refers to Miles and Huberman's theory, which involves data reduction, visualization and validation stages. The collaboration between MI Baitul Muttaqin and Madin Baitul Muttaqin involves joint decision-making to shape students' religious character and science and technology abilities through comprehensive learning between religion and science and technology. This collaboration is analyzed using collaborative governance theory, emphasizing shared goals, participation, organizational structure, role division, communication, and evaluation. The impact is comprehensive education of students' religious character and science and technology skills. The obstacles come from differences in the characteristics of Madin and MI educators, but the heads of MI and Madin consider the benefits more. Coordination, intensive communication and improving the qualifications of Madin educators are critical solutions for harmonizing learning. It is also essential to support harmonious family habits at home to achieve comprehensive results.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of democratic leadership in managing student discipline at the Babussalam Islamic Boarding School. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation and document analysis. The research results show that democratic leadership in Islamic boarding schools facilitates the active participation of students in the decision-making process regarding disciplinary policies. Open discussions, deliberations and participatory meetings provide a forum where students can voice their opinions and ideas. In addition, this research identifies the impact of implementing democratic leadership where students show an increase in compliance with the rules created together. They feel more responsible for their self-discipline and feel valued by the Islamic boarding school environment. However, there are also obstacles, such as differences in interpretations of Islamic values and challenges in maintaining a balance between students' autonomy and collective discipline. Thus, this research makes an essential contribution to understanding the practice of democratic leadership at the Babussalam Islamic boarding school and describes its impact on the character formation and discipline of the students. The implications of the results of this research highlight the importance of maintaining traditional values while introducing a participatory approach that is in line with the demands of the times, creating an educational environment that is inclusive and responsive to the needs of students, and enriching the discourse on Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Learning satisfaction is an essential aspect of the educational process and has become a central topic in many studies. This study investigates the effect of religiosity on student learning satisfaction. The researcher utilized a quantitative research method with a survey design. The Krejcie & Morgan formula was employed to ascertain the sample size, yielding 103 respondents out of 150 students enrolled in the Islamic Religious Education program at IAIN Kerinci for the Academic Year 2023/2024. The simple random sampling technique was applied to select the participants. Data collection was carried out using two research scales, namely the religiosity among muslims scale and the student course satisfaction questionnaire. The data collected was then analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The finding revealed that students' learning satisfaction and religiosity were high. Furthermore, it was found that religiosity significantly affected student learning satisfaction. These findings indicate that strong and active religiosity positively relates to learning satisfaction.
