Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of inquiry-based learning models on student learning outcomes. The problems at SMAN 1 Panyabungan Selatan are that the learning activities are still teacher-centered, the varied learning models have not been implemented, and the students' learning outcomes are low. Efforts that can be made are to apply an inquiry-based learning model about environmental change material in biology learning.This research is a quasi-experimental research using Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. The research population was all students of class X MIA SMAN 1 Panyabungan Selatan for the academic year 2021/2022. The research sample was students of class X MIA 2 as the experimental class and class X MIA 1 as the control class. Sampling using total sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a posttest question sheet in the form of multiple choice. Data analysis used hypothesis testing because the data were normally distributed and had homogeneous variations.Based on the results of the study, it is known that the learning outcomes of students in the experimental class are higher than the control class, with an average value of the experimental class (78.03) and the control class (72.85). Data analysis showed a significance value of 0.047 <0.05. So it can be concluded that the application of the inquiry learning model has a significant positive effect on student learning outcomes in class X biology learning at SMAN 1 Panyabungan Selatan.

Abstract

Pembelajaran tidak hanya menyerap informasi dari guru, tetapi juga memerlukan berbagai kegiatan untuk mendapatkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik. Salah satu penyebab rendahnya hasil belajar siswa terletak pada proses pembelajaran dimana peran guru aktif dan siswa pasif. Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of information literacy based on the Bruce's Seven Faces model, Students of the Department of Sports Education Class of 2018, Faculty of Sports Science, Padang State University. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The population of this study was all students of the Department of Sports Education class of 2018, Faculty of Sports Science, Padang State University with a sample of 78 respondents. The sampling technique in this study used a random sampling technique. The instrument of this study used a questionnaire as the main data. Test the analysis requirements using validity and reliability tests. The data analysis technique used is calculation using the mean to calculate the average value, the grand mean calculation is used to calculate the sum of the entire average of each individual variable. The results of this study show first, the experience of information technology in the category is very high. Secondly, the determination of the source of information in the high category. Third, the process of searching for information in the high category. Fourth, control of information in the high category. Fifth, make the information in the high category. Sixth, develop information in the high category. Seventh, use information on high categories. Abstract

The objectives of this study are (1) to describe the implementation of the GLS program, (2) to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of the GLS program, (3) to describe the contribution of school libraries in the implementation of the GLS. The type of research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Informants in this study used purposive sampling technique. Informants in this study there are 5 informants consisting of the principal, the head of the library, teachers, and 2 students. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out with the stages of data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are as follows. (1) SMA Negeri 1 Basa Ampek Balai Tapan has implemented GLS since 2019, namely 15 minutes of reading, reading area, reading garden, and the most diligent library visitors. (2) Supporting factors for the implementation of the GLS are the active role of all school members, school funds, collaboration with donors and support from students' parents. And the inhibiting factor for implementing GLS is the influence of technology such as the negative influence of gadgets, students prefer to play gadgets than go to the library. Efforts made to overcome these problems are the cooperation of all elements of the school to encourage students so that students are enthusiastic and active in literacy activities. (3) The contribution of the school library in implementing the school literacy movement program is the first to procure collections in the library, the second is library services, the third is library collaboration, the fourth is appreciation for users, the fifth is library promotion and the sixth is the school library program

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika melalui Metode Index Card Match dalam Pembelajaran Matematika. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 2 Paguat sebanyak 26 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang masing-masing tiga kali pertemuan proses pembelajaran dan satu kali pertemuan dilakukan tes hasil belajar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu data tentang hasil belajar diambil dengan memberi tes pada setiap akhir siklus, data tentang aktivitas peserta didik dan kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran diambil dengan menggunakan lembar observasi pada saat berlangsung proses pembelajaran di dalam kelas.Hasil belajar pada materi segiempat dapat meningkat melalui Metode Index Card Match dalam Pembelajaran Matematika kelas VII SMPN 2 Paguat. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh: (a) meningkatnya rata-rata hasil belajar matematika peserta didik dari siklus I ke siklus II yaitu dari 56,73 menjadi 76,15; (b) meningkatnya persentase ketuntasan belajar matematika dari siklus I ke siklus II yaitu dari 34,6% menjadi 88,5%; dan (c) meningkatnya persentase rata-rata aktivitas peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran adalah 40,31% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 47,01%, pada siklus II atau meningkat sebesar 4,42%.

Abstract

The school principal has the task of advancing and carrying out academic supervision of teachers, so that with academic supervision it is hoped that it can increase teacher professionalism. The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the influence of the principal's academic supervision on the professional competence of teachers at SMA Negeri 3 Karimun Kepulauan Riau. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a type of case study research (intrinsic case study). The results of the study seen from the comparison test of the magnitude of the difference conducted on the academic supervision of the principal of SMAN 3 Karimun Kepulauan Riau, there is no significant difference between the academic supervision of the principal at SMAN 3 Karimun Kepulauan Riau, because based on the calculation results, the calculated t value using the polled variance is – 0.103 and consulted with the price of the t table with an error rate of 5%, the price of the t table is 1.98. So t count, is in the area of ​​acceptance of Ho (located between table prices), then Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected. This also occurs in the magnitude of differences in teacher professional competence, the results of which are no significant differences between the professional competence of teachers at SMAN 3 Karimun Kepulauan Riau because based on the calculation results, the calculated t value using polled variance is -0.041 and consulted with the t table price with the level error is 5% then the price of t table is 1.671. Abstract

Cancer is not only a health problem for adults; it is also a major health problem for children. The pediatric oncology polyclinic in Riau Province, particularly in Pekanbaru City, recorded 1,918 cancer patients. Generally, cancer sufferers are more closed to themselves, withdraw from the environment, and reject what has happened to them, so that most cancer sufferers surrender, lose motivation, and lose self-confidence. Empathic communication can help cancer survivors motivate, understand, and understand their feelings and attitudes, as well as their hopes and desires for the future. As a result, parental empathic communication is required. The purpose of this study was to determine the empathic communication between parents and children with cancer at YKAKI Pekanbaru. This study involved three informants who were parents of children with cancer and one support respondent. Methods of data collection using interviews, observations, and documentation techniques The results of this study indicate that empathetic communication between parents and children can take the form of prioritizing communication, providing motivation to children, showing patience and sincerity, influencing children's responses, and growing a sense of comfort in children. All findings from this study show forms of empathic communication between parents and children with cancer at YKAKI Pekanbaru City.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between school literacy and interest in reading in elementary school students. This type of research uses quantitative research. This survey uses a closed survey by distributing questionnaires directly to informants. The purpose of distributing this survey is to ensure that informants obtain complete data about the problem without worrying about the answer. The data analysis technique in this research is the Normality Test and the Linearity Test. The results of this study show that the frequency distribution of the school literacy movement variable is at an interval score of 57.73 ≤ X ≤ 67.36 in the medium category with a frequency of 16 students, while the reading interest variable is at an interval score of 50.00 ≤ X ≤ 59.00 in the medium category with a frequency of 16 students. In a simple correlation analysis between school literacy movement and reading interest there is a strong relationship because the Pearson Correlation value is 0.642 where this value is in the range between 0.61 – 0.80. In addition, the value of the ginifiance is also 0.001 < sig 0.05. There is a significant relationship between school literacy and interest in reading in elementary school students.

Abstract

The identity of local cultural ownership in Indonesia needs to be improved as a source of learning in science education. The development of the current 2013 curriculum in science education pays attention to local cultural wisdom (ethnoscience) national identity, character and local cultural customs. This study uses a descriptive descriptive approach that tries to observe and conduct a comprehensive study of the implementation of meaningful learning which can be done by associating science concepts with community activities around students, especially activities related to culture, customs of the surrounding community which are one of the one identity of the Indonesian nation.

Abstract

Teaching and evaluation strategies greatly influence success in fostering students' creative thinking abilities. The objectives of this study are to (1) examine various literature on creative thinking; (2) examine various indicators of creative thinking skills; (3) investigate various teaching strategies to improve creative thinking skills and their evaluation instruments. The research method used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data in the study is in the form of secondary data in the form of research journals that examine the scope of students' creative thinking. Data analysis techniques use Miles and Huberman's model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The number of articles found was 117 articles using the help of journal indexers such as Scopus, google scholar, Eric, and DOAJ. This study decided to review 36 articles based on the results of data reduction carried out from 117 articles. The conclusion of this study is that studying various proven theories and applying them in the classroom is the most appropriate step as a strategy to improve students' creative thinking skills. These strategies include active learning models such as: based learning projects, cooperative learning, problem based learning, and discovery/ based inquiry.
