Abstract

Abstract. The radical transnational ideologies can easily attack and damage Christians’ youth in this digital era. The purpose of this study is to deliniate anticipatory-transformative Christian education and the significance of revitalizing the didaskalia function as the foundation for the Christian’s youth resilience in the transnationalism era. The method in this research was the literature study method. Through this research, it was found that the didaskalia function is very urgent to be revitalized in the context of the resilience of Christian’s youth in the midst of the swift currents of transnational ideology. As an anticipatory-transformative effort, Christian Education seeks to develop an accommodative and contextual education model to build a strong foundation of Christian’s youth, which will enable them to face the complex life.Abstrak. Ideologi transnasional yang bersifat radikal dapat dengan mudah menyerang dan merusak generasi muda Kristen pada era digital ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan pendidikan Kristen antisipatif-transformatif dan pentingnya revitalisasi fungsi didaskalia sebagai pondasi ketahanan pemuda Kristen di era transnasionalisme. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode studi pustaka. Melalui penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa fungsi didaskalia semakin urgen untuk direvitalisasi dalam konteks ketahanan pemuda Kristen di tengah derasnya arus ideologi transnasional. Sebagai upaya antisipatif-transformatif, Pendidikan Kristen berupaya mengembangkan model pendidikan yang akomodatif dan kontekstual dalam rangka membangun pondasi yang kuat dalam diri pemuda Kristen, yang memampukan mereka dalam menghadapi kehidupan yang kompleks.

Abstract

This article analyzed the grief of Naomi in the book of Ruth by using the six stages of grief by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross and David Kessler. Although Naomi could be an inadequate model in dealing with her grief, her attitude resonates with many people in dealing with their griefs. It makes this study is noteworthy. This article analyzed how Naomi dealt with her grief in the six stages of grief, namely: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance, and finding the meaning and then take the implication for the ministry during the pandemic of Covid-19. The study showed that anger and depression are visible in the story of Naomi. Acceptance is not explicit. There is no denial, bargaining, and finding the meaning stages in Naomi’s grief. She was still struggling with her grief, although she could accept the new situation with the marriage of Ruth and Boaz and the birth of Obed. Today many people struggle with grief during this pandemic. Therefore, it is essential to pay attention to vaccines and medication and notice the need for psychological help and therapy for the bereaved families.

Abstract

Abstract. This paper aimed to construct virtue-based Christian Character Education. Moral decadence among students is often associated with the failure of education to instill good values on an early age. The method used in this study is a literature study. The results of this study showed that virtue is built on the tradition of Christian teaching and society as an encounter basis in a community. It can be concluded that virtue-based Christian Character Education is a means of forming a noble character, taking into account various aspects of living together.Abstrak. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengkonstruksi Pendidikan Karakter Kristiani yang berbasiskan virtue. Dekandensi moral di kalangan remaja seringkali dikaitkan dengan kegagalan pendidikan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai kebaikan sejak dini. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah studi pustaka. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa virtue dibangun dari tradisi pengajaran Kristen dan masyarakat sebagai dasar perjumpaan bersama dalam sebuah komunitas. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Pendidikan Karakter Kristiani berbasis virtue menjadi sarana membentuk karakter yang luhur, dengan mempertimbangkan berbagai aspek dalam kehidupan bersama.

Abstract

Abstract. This paper focused on elaborating the theology of hope in the midst of pandemic according to Jürgen Moltmann. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, peoples experience despair, disappointment and anxiety. There are so many things in the midst of a pandemic that cannot be solved by human ability. Peoples have to be subdued to the suffering of Covid-19. In exploring human suffering in the midst of a pandemic, hope is the key to overcome this unprecedented epidemic. In analyzing this issue, the author made use of Jürgen Moltmann's theology of hope. This study was conducted by the phenomenological method, which examines the experience of the two health workers during the Covid-19 period. Through this study, it caould be understood that the theology of hope had contribution in a pandemic situation, through the resurrection of Christ who was crucified, which means the Church as a Church that is present for the world. From there the Christian cannot escape solidarity with all people and with the "God of hope."Abstrak. Fokus utama tulisan ini adalah mengurai teologi pengharapan di tengah pandemi menurut Jürgen Moltmann. Di tengah pandemi Covid-19, manusia mengalami keputusasaan, kekecewaan dan kecemasan. Begitu banyak hal di tengah pandemi yang tidak bisa diselesaikan oleh kemampuan manusia. Manusia harus tunduk pada penderitaan Covid-19. Dalam menyelami penderitaan manusia di tengah pandemi, harapan adalah kunci melewati wabah yang tak berpreseden ini. Dalam menganalisis persoalan ini, penulis menggunakan kajian teori teologi pengharapan Jürgen Moltmann. Studi ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi, yaitu menelaah pengalaman kesaksian dari dua petugas kesehatan selama masa Covid-19. Melalui  studi ini dapat dipahami bahwa teologi pengharapan memberi sumbangan dalam situasi pandemi, melalui kebangkitan Kristus yang disalibkan, yang di dalamnya memiliki makna Gereja sebagai Gereja yang hadir bagi dunia. Dari situ orang Kristen tidak dapat terlepas dari solidaritas dengan semua orang maupun dengan “Tuhan pengharapan.”

Abstract

Abstract. This study was a critical study to the response of the Evangelical Christian Church in Timor (GMIT) towards women trafficking phenomenon in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The purpose of this study was to uncover the causes of women trafficking, as well to reveal the church's response to this phenomenon. This research was conducted by a qualitative method. In this study, it was revealed that the perception of women as the second sex in a patriarchal society is the main cause of women trafficking. The church also still pays more attention to spiritual services and even participates in perpetuating patriarchal culture so that it has not provided a maximum solution to the phenomenon of women trafficking.Abstrak. Studi ini merupakan kajian kritis terhadap sikap Gereja Masehi Injili di Timor (GMIT) terhadap fenomena perempuan yang marak terjadi di Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguak penyebab terjadinya perdagangan perempuan dan mengungkap respon gereja menyikapi fenomena tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini terkuak bahwa anggapan perempuan sebagai gender kedua dalam masyarakat patriarkhi menjadi penyebab utama terjadinya perdagangan perempuan. Gereja juga masih lebih banyak memberikan perhatian pada pelayanan rohani dan bahkan turut melanggengkan budaya patriarkhi sehingga belum memberikan solusi maksimal terhadap fenomena perdagangan perempuan.

Abstract

Abstract. This research, which was conducted in Minahasa, North Sulawesi, aimed to examine the effect of spiritual competence, pedagogic competence, and social skills of Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers. This research was conducted using quantitative methods. This study involved 30 PAK teachers in Minahasa Regency, Sulawesi. The data analyzers involved in this study used PLS software for structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The results of this study indicated that the quality of teaching and learning will be good and have a positive effect if the teacher has spiritual, pedagogic, and social competencies. Thus it can be concluded that the three competencies greatly affect the understanding of learning materials by students.Abstrak. Penelitian yang dilakukan di Minahasa, Sulawesi Utara ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh kompetensi spiritual, pedagogi, dan keterampilan sosial guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Penelitian ini melibatkan seluruh guru PAK di Kabupaten Minahasa, Sulawesi yang berjumlah 30 orang. Penganalisis data yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini menggunakan perangkat lunak PLS untuk analisis pemodelan persamaan struktural (SEM). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas belajar mengajar akan baik dan berpengaruh positif jika guru memiliki kompetensi spiritual, pedagogik, dan sosial. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulakan bahwa ketiga kompetensi tersebut sangat berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman materi pembelajaran oleh siswa.

Abstract

Abstract. This article was written to answer a question: what are the similarities and differences, as well as continuity and discontinuity, on the concept of biblical inerrancy according to modern Evangelical thoughts represented by the International Council of Biblical Inerrancy (ICBI) which formulated the Chicago Statements of Biblical Inerrancy (CSBI) and its supplementary documents compared to the views of pre-modern Christian thoughts or the Church Fathers. This comparison was made to seek the construction of a (more) proportionate articulation on the doctrine of biblical inerrancy. In fact, the differences between both of them are not essentially related to the terminology problem, but rather show different metaphysical, epistemological, hermeneutical preconpositions, and different justification criteria for the validity of the Scripture. The Church Fathers emphasized Scripture as a spiritual and supernatural text so there was no need to always prove its validity historically and factually, while modern Evangelicals that emphasized the harmony of God's revelation with human knowledge emphasized the dimension of accuracy and historicality as the basis for their concepts on biblical inerrancy.Abstrak. Artikel ini ditulis untuk menjawab sebuah pertanyaan: apakah persamaan dan perbedaan, serta kontinuitas dan diskontinuitas, dari konsep tentang ineransi Kitab Suci menurut kelompok Injili modern yang direpresentasikan oleh International Council of Biblical Inerrancy (ICBI), yang merumuskan Chicago Statements of Biblical Inerrancy (CSBI) dan dokumen-dokumen pelengkapnya, dengan menurut pandangan kelompok Kristen pra-modern atau Bapa-bapa Gereja. Komparasi ini dilakukan untuk mencari konstruksi doktrin ineransi yang (lebih) proporsional bagi kalangan Injili masa kini. Pada dasarnya, perbedaan di antara kedua kelompok tersebut bukan berkaitan dengan problem terminologis, tetapi lebih menunjukkan perbedaan metafisika, epistemologi, prasuposisi hermeneutika, dan kriteria justifikasi yang berbeda terhadap kesahihan Kitab Suci. Bapa-bapa Gereja lebih menekankan natur Kitab Suci sebagai teks spiritual dan supranatural sehingga tidak perlu selalu membuktikan kesahihannya secara historis-faktual, sementara kelompok Injili modern yang menekankan keselarasan wahyu Allah dengan pengetahuan manusia lebih menekankan dimensi akurasi dan historisitas teks sebagai basis ineransi.

Abstract

The book of Job contains about suffering and feelings of injustice. Job felt and asked why he as a godly person experienced suffering, so he sought justice to God. The word justice is related to haššātān and court. The authors want to find and describe the context of the word haššātān by the judicial or court tradition history perspective in the book of Job. The result of this research is that the dialogue and the setting of the dialogue in the sky is the atmosphere of the court which was attended by the Judge (God) and the prosecutor (haššātān), that the prosecutor stated that there was an act of injustice that occurred in the life of the defendant (Job) which was committed by God (as well as the accused), which is also as a discussion of theodicy and Judgment Traditions in the book of Job.
