Abstract

Abstract. Postmodernism (postmo) is associated with deconstruction, skepticism and philosophical criticism of the concept of universal truth and objective reality. For postmodernist thinkers, reason and logic are merely conceptual constructions and therefore are only valid within the intellectual traditions adopted by their users. These thinkers emphasize the differences in human experience and the plurality of truth, while dogmatic theology claims God and objective reality as the only truth. Based on this, this paper attempted to analyze the influence of postmo on theology in order to build a new paradigm for the development of theology. The method used in this article was literature study. The result of this study indicates that theology must learn from postmodernism. Theology must renew itself so that its arguments can be accepted.Abstrak. Postmodernisme (posmo) dihubungkan dengan dekonstruksi, skeptisisme dan kritik filosofis terhadap konsep kebenaran universal dan realitas yang obyektif. Bagi para pemikir posmodernisme, akal budi dan logika hanyalah konstruksi konseptual dan karenanya hanya sah di dalam pendirian tradisi-tradisi intelektual yang dipakai oleh penggunanya. Para pemikir itu menekankan perbedaan pengalaman manusiawi dan kemajemukan kebenaran, sementara teologi dogmatik mengklaim Tuhan dan realitas obyektif sebagai satu-satunya kebenaran. Berangkat dari hal itu tulisan ini mencoba menganalisa pengaruh posmo terhadap teologi untuk membangun sebuah paradigma baru demi perkembangan teologi. Metode yang digunakan di dalam artikel ini adalah studi literatur. Hasil dari kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa teologi harus belajar dari posmodernisme. Teologi harus membaharui diri sehingga argumen-argumennya dapat diterima.

Abstract

This article describes that the perfection of God’s creation was guaranteed by faith, must be hold and lived in the life of the believers. Physical weakness (difable) is not a condition cause decreasing the perfection of God’s creation. Difable is not decreasing or weakening the existence and essence of human being as the body of Christ which was loved and saved by the blood of Christ. This article used the library research in theology, explored the love of God in the life of human being. The result showed that the church must develop the ministries of educating and empowering disable people (people with the special need). They are perfect as the body of Christ because the God itself is perfect. God is perfect so the creation is perfect too. Human being was perfected by the love of God.

Abstract

Abstract. Caritas is another name for the Church's loving service to the poor, sick, marginalized, imprisoned, orphaned, and neglected, including the disabled. How does Caritas become a medium of liberation for disability? This research was conducted across most parts of Indonesia using a qualitative approach. The result was that a service of charity to society beyond the medical and social models of disability. Caritas has open access to disability participation in the church, although it is undeniable that the church still makes disability an object of service. The Church presents disability spaces as part of reflection and theology. Caritas is not stigmatizing and discriminatory; it becomes a constructive and liberating step. It is not harmful but embraces and integrates existing potential so that it becomes the suitable medium for disability liberation.Abstrak. Karitas merupakan nama lain dari pelayanan kasih gereja kepada mereka yang miskin, sakit, terpinggirkan, terpenjara, yatim-piatu, terabaikan, termasuk disabilitas. Bagaimana karitas menjadi media pembebasan bagi disabilitas? Penelitian ini dilakukan tersebar di sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasilnya adalah bahwa pelayanan karitas kepada masyarakat melampaui model medis dan sosial dalam disabilitas. Karitas menjadi akses terbukanya partisipasi disabilitas di gereja, meskipun tidak dapat dipungkiri gereja masih menjadikan disabilitas sebagai objek pelayanan. Gereja menghadirkan ruang disabilitas sebagai bagian untuk berefleksi dan berteologi. Karitas tidak bersifat stigmatis dan diskriminatif, sebaliknya ia menjadi langkah konstruktif dan pembebasan. Ia tidak bersifat negatif, melainkan merangkul dan mengintegrasikan potensi yang ada sehingga menjadi media yang tepat untuk pembebasan disabilitas.

Abstract

Extrinsic motivation is an important factor in learning. However, many teachers have not been able to provide proper motivation by giving negative labeling to students. This happens because the teacher does not yet have the proper axiological foundation in viewing students as the image and likeness of God. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the axiological study of the teacher's role as a role model in providing motivation for students. The method used is a literature study. The result of the study showed that the Christian teacher needs to live up to the values in the Bible so that the teacher has the basic values of correct behaviour, namely the Word of God. Teachers must also imitate Christ because He is the perfect role model for humans.

Abstract

In Indonesia, sex education is delivered in public high schools as part of the biology curriculum and under the topic of reproductive health. According to the government’s view, when schools teach students properly about reproductive health, they will have a good understanding of their sexuality. Therefore,  there is no need to have any further sexual education outside of the school curriculum. However, about half of the teenagers living in major cities are involved in premarital sex, and the rate of teen abortion and HIV infections is high. This article examined the implementation of sexual education in public high schools in Indonesia using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research. The survey was done on a sample of 416 students from 30 provinces and 66 cities in Indonesia. The finding support a particular approach to sex education that incorporates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning aspects of educational taxonomy. We find that it is essential to develop a separate sex education module in addition to the current reproductive health topic taught in biology to encourage students to practice abstinence, rather than just teaching reproductive health.

Abstract

Abstract. Sin, as seen in various evil deeds, continues to color the lives of human beings even today. This paper is an attempt to understand the root of sin and evil from the perspective of Paul’s theology. The author used the literature study method with a descriptive qualitative approach. In addition, the exegetical interpretation method also be applied to several key texts related to the purpose of this paper. The result of this study concluded that the fight against the forces of evil can only be built on a living and personal faith with God in the experience and struggle of actual life. Religion and rituals are only a means, and not a guarantee, of escape from the bondage of sin and evil.Abstrak. Dosa, sebagaimana tampak dalam pelbagai perbuatan jahat, masih terus menerus mewarnai kehidupan manusia dewasa ini. Tulisan ini merupakan suatu ikhtiar untuk memahami akar kejahatan dan dosa itu dari perspektif teologi Paulus. Penulis menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Selain itu, metode penafsiran eksegetis juga diterapkan pada beberapa teks kunci yang terkait dengan tujuan dari tulisan ini. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perang melawan kekuatan jahat hanya dapat dibangun di atas iman yang hidup dan personal dengan Allah dalam pengalaman dan pergulatan hidup yang nyata. Agama dan pelbagai ritual hanyalah sarana dan bukan jaminan untuk melepaskan diri dari belenggu dosa dan kejahatan.

Abstract. The 172 street children depicted are in vulnerable, marginal, and exploited conditions in the middle of the urban district of Bandung. To this day, the church as a spiritual institution and a community is still engaged in charitable diocese with a sporadic approach in responding to the street child phenomenon in the city. This research aimed to produce and develop a model of education of Christian character values as a contextual mission service for street children in Bandung City. This research was conducted by the Research and Development (R&D) method with the R2D2 model (Recursive, Reflective, Design, and Development. Through the Contextual Teaching & Learning (CTL) model in the implementation of Christian character education values, street children construct values given and shown in positive and beneficial actions and behaviors for empowerment. The church is expected to be able to build a positive image as a missionary who not only focuses on charitable diocese, but also meets the basic needs of street children through the implementation of a model of education of Christian character values.Abstrak. Sebanyak 172 anak jalanan digambarkan berada pada kondisi rentan, marginal, dan tereksploitasi di tengah perkotaan Bandung. Hingga saat ini gereja sebagai lembaga rohani, sekaligus komunitas, masih berkutat dengan diakonia karitatif dengan pendekatan sporadis dalam merespons fenomena anak jalanan di perkotaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan dan mengembangkan produk berupa model pendidikan nilai karakter Kristiani sebagai pelayanan misi kontekstual bagi anak jalanan di Kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model R2D2 (Recursive, Reflective, Design, and Development). Melalui model Contextual Teaching & Learning (CTL) dalam implementasi pendidikan nilai karakter Kristiani, anak jalanan mengonstruksi nilai yang diberikan dan ditunjukkan dalam tindakan dan tingkah laku positif dan bermanfaat untuk pemberdayaan dirinya. Gereja diharapkan mampu membangun citra positif sebagai pelaku misi yang tidak hanya bertumpu pada diakonia karitatif, akan tetapi memenuhi kebutuhan dasar anak jalanan melalui implementasi model pendidikan nilai karakter Kristiani.

Abstract. The phrase of kαὶ ἄφες ἡμῖν τὰ ὀφειλήματα ἡμῶν … (and forgive us our debts) in Matthew 6:12 requires forgiveness of others' faults to obtain divine forgiveness. By using the word analysis approach and the Sermon on the Mount in The Gospel of Matthew as a framework, forgiveness in the fifth petition of the Lord's Prayer is a marker and moral ethic of the disciples' identity. The theology of forgiveness which requires forgiveness of others' sins, which is built on an analysis of purpur sage based cultural reconciliation in Karo society, can become an agreement to conflict resolution in the Karo-Christian community.Abstrak. Frasa kαὶ ἄφες ἡμῖν τὰ ὀφειλήματα ἡμῶν … (dan ampunilah kami akan kesalahan kami) dalam Matius 6:12 seolah mensyaratkan pengampunan atas kesalahan sesama untuk mendapatkan pengampunan illahi. Dengan menggunakan Khotbah di Bukit dalam Injil Matius sebagai bingkai kerja atau hermeneutical framework, pengampunan pada permohonan kelima (the fifth petition) dalam Doa Bapa Kami merupakan penanda kualitas dan identitas para murid. Teologi pengampunan yang mensyaratkan pengampunan atas dosa sesama yang dibangun dalam analisis rekonsiliasi berbasis kultural purpur sage dalam masyarakat Karo menjadi tawaran resolusi konflik dalam komunitas Karo-Kristen.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pendidikan Kristen yang terlalu menekankan aspek rasio dari natur manusia terpengaruh oleh rasionalisme yang mereduksi konsep imago Dei.  Di dalam tulisan ini, saya menyajikan studi biblis dan ekstrabiblis tentang gambar dan rupa Allah. Visi citra Allah yang diciptakan untuk menyembah Allah dan mewakili pemerintahan-Nya di bait semesta merupakan kemuridan yang menjadi tujuan dari pendidikan Kristen. Konsep imago Dei di bait semesta ini diperbandingkan juga dengan model homo liturgicus yang diajukan oleh James K. A. Smith. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Kristen tidak berhenti pada hanya mengomunikasikan bahan ajar Kristiani, melainkan pembentukan orang-orang yang hasratnya diarahkan kepada Kerajaan Allah.Abstract. Christian education which places too much emphasis on the rational aspect of human nature is influenced by rationalism which reduces the concept of the imago Dei. In this article, I present a biblical and extrabiblical study of the image and likeness of God. The vision of the image of God created to worship God and represent His reign in the universal temple is the discipleship that is the goal of Christian education. The concept of the imago Dei in this cosmic temple is also compared with the homo liturgicus model proposed by James K. A. Smith. The results of this study show that Christian education does not stop at only communicating Christian teaching materials, but rather forms people whose desires are directed towards the Kingdom of God.
