Abstract

Abstract. This study aimed to describe the role of the Child Development Center (PPA) as a reflection of Jesus' ministry as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew 14:13-21. This study was motivated by the decreasing participation of children in PPA programs, which ultimately has implications for the spiritual aspects of children. The method in this study is descriptive qualitative. The subjects were adolescent students at PPA IO 0933 "Tresno Putro" Surakarta. The results of the study showed that the lack of children's activity in participating in PPA programs was because the existing programs were considered no longer relevant to the needs of children. Programs that previously targeted the fulfillment of physical needs have been largely discontinued. Thus, it can be concluded that as in Jesus' ministry, the fulfillment of physical needs is important before being able to touch spiritual needs.Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan peran Pusat Pengembangan Anak (PPA) sebagai refleksi atas pelayanan Yesus yang tercatat dalam Injil Matius 14:13-21. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh makin rendahnya partisipasi anak-anak dalam program-program PPA, yang pada akhirnya berimplikasi pada aspek kerohanian anak-anak. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah diskriptif kualitatif. Subjek yang dituju adalah siswa-siswi remaja di PPA IO 0933 “Tresno Putro” Surakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kekurangaktifan anak-anak dalam mengikuti program-program PPA adalah oleh karena program-program yang ada dianggap tidak lagi relevan dengan kebutuhan anak-anak. Program-program yang sebelumnya banyak menyasar pemenuhan kebutuhan jasmani telah banyak yang tidak lagi diselenggarakan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagaimana dalam pelayanan Yesus, pemenuhan kebutuhan jasman menjadi hal yang penting sebelum dapat menyentuh kebutuhan rohani.

Abstract

Abstract. This article explores Karl Rahner's theological perspective on the intersection of human freedom, habit, and theological virtues. Rahner offers a distinctive idea of human freedom in the context of divine grace and the theological virtues of faith, hope, and love. This study examines how theological virtues function as transformative structures that shape human freedom and habit. The method used in this study was a literature study of Karl Rahner's thought. The results of this study showed that true freedom is not the absence of limitations, but rather the ability to respond authentically to the divine call. This call directs humans towards a deeper communion with God and others. Rahner's views highlight the inevitable connection between human freedom, habit, and theological virtues in the context of Christian faith.Abstrak. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi perspektif teologis Karl Rahner mengenai persinggungan antara kebebasan manusia, kebiasaan, dan keutamaan-keutamaan teologis. Rahner menawarkan sebuah gagasan yang khas tentang kebebasan manusia dalam konteks anugerah ilahi dan keutamaan-keutamaan teologis, yaitu iman, pengharapan, dan kasih. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana keutamaan teologis berfungsi sebagai struktur transformatif yang membentuk kebebasan dan kebiasaan manusia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian pustaka terhadap pemikiran Karl Rahner. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa kebebasan sejati bukan sebagai ketiadaan batasan, melainkan sebagai kemampuan untuk merespons secara otentik terhadap panggilan ilahi. Panggilan ini mengarahkan manusia menuju persekutuan yang lebih dalam dengan Tuhan dan sesama. Pandangan Rahner menyoroti keterkaitan yang tidak terelakkan antara kebebasan manusia, kebiasaan, dan keutamaan teologis dalam konteks iman Kristen.

Abstract

Abstract. Meaning is correlated with actual actions, both in communication and ideology and social relations, so that the issue of meaning is now the focus of contemporary scientific study and criticism. The Christian faith, which specifically constructs a system of theology, worldview and ethics based on Biblical texts, is also faced with the challenge of interpreting the meaning of Biblical texts. From this struggle, this article discusses the issue of semantic theory from three perspectives, namely: structuralism, post-structuralism, and evangelical theology. Through this article, the author aimed to analyze semantic issues so that it is hoped that it will be able to present appropriate semantic constructions for approaches to Christian hermeneutics and theology in facing existing challenges. The method used was literature study. The results of this research showed that there are several similarities between the semantic theory of structuralism and Christian theology which is characterized by a constructive approach to meaning with several important notes. On the other hand, these two approaches are not in line with the semantic pattern of post-structuralism which is deconstructive, radical and tends to be agnostic.Abstrak. Makna terkorelasi dengan tindakan aktual, baik dalam komunikasi maupun ideologi dan relasi sosial, sehingga persoalan makna kini menjadi fokus kajian dan kritik keilmuan kontemporer. Iman Kristen yang secara khusus mengonstruksikan sistem teologi, wawasan dunia hingga etika yang berbasis pada teks-teks Alkitab, juga diperhadapkan dengan tantangan persoalan pemaknaan teks-teks Kitab Suci. Dari pergumulan tersebut, artikel ini membahas mengenai persoalan teori semantik dalam tiga perspektif yaitu: strukturalisme, post strukturalisme, dan teologi Injili. Melalui artikel ini penulis hendak mengurai persoalan semantik sehingga diharapkan mampu menghadirkan konstruksi semantik yang tepat bagi pendekatan hermeneutika dan teologi Kristen dalam menghadapi tantangan yang ada. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa kesamaan antara teori semantik strukturalisme dengan teologi Kristen yang bercirikan pendekatan makna konstruktif dengan beberapa catatan penting. Sebaliknya, kedua pendekatan tersebut tidak sejalan dengan pola semantik post strukturalisme yang dekonstruktif, radikal dan cenderung agnostik.

Abstract

Catholics hold Mary, the mother of Jesus, in high esteem. The widespread presence of Marian devotions, teachings, dogmas, symbols, titles, art, and places of pilgrimage in various church regions across the globe demonstrates this phenomenon. This study investigates the portrayal of Mary at the Manggarai Catholic Church, which is situated in the Diocese of Ruteng, Flores. This study aimed to analyze the songs performed by Maria that are featured in the book “Dere Serani.” The central investigation focused on whether the depiction of Mary in songs is impacted by the representation of women in the local culture or not. This study utilized two main approaches, namely text content analysis and cultural studies. This study discovered that the depiction of Mary that is adopted by the local community extends beyond local perspectives and incorporates global viewpoints.

Abstract

Abstract. The main objective of this research is to understand the integration between theological and philosophical thinking in Christian Religious Education (CRE), ensuring its relevance and effectiveness in the modern era, and gaining a deep understanding of how contemporary philosophical thinking influences and refines current CRE approaches. In this qualitative research, a literature review method is employed to comprehend the interaction between post-1800 Western philosophy and theological thinking in the context of CRE. The result showed that after 1800, Western philosophy challenged fundamental concepts of truth and Christianity. Therefore, CRE should serve as a bridge between tradition and modernity. CRE has the responsibility to uphold its teachings while engaging in dialogue with philosophy. Through an interdisciplinary approach, CRE must be dynamic and adaptive, maintaining its relevance in the modern era. This underscores the importance of synthesizing faith and reason in education.Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami integrasi antara pemikiran teologis dan filosofis dalam Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK), memastikan relevansi dan efektivitasnya di era modern, serta memahami pengaruh pemikiran filosofis kontemporer terhadap pendekatan PAK saat ini. Metode kajian literatur digunakan untuk meneliti interaksi antara filsafat Barat pasca-1800 dan pemikiran teologis dalam PAK. Hasilnya, filsafat Barat pasca-1800 menantang konsep dasar kebenaran dan kekristenan. Oleh karena itu, PAK berperan sebagai jembatan antara tradisi dan modernitas melalui diskusi aktif antara filsafat dan teologi. PAK harus bersikap dinamis dan adaptif, menjaga relevansinya dengan mempertahankan ajarannya sambil terus berdialog dengan filsafat. Sintesis antara iman dan rasio dianggap penting dalam pendidikan agama.

Abstract

Abstract. This research highlights the important exemplary role that theology lecturers must have. In this case, theology lecturers are not only required to have academic competence, but must also be able to provide role models for the students they supervise. The method used in this research was the literature study method to examine the text of 1 Timothy 4:12. The results of this research show that exemplary in speech, behavior, love and academic integrity are the main competencies that must be possessed by theology lecturers to be able to form students' spirituality and character.Abstrak. Penelitian ini menyoroti peran penting keteladan yang harus dimiliki oleh dosen teologi. Dalam hal ini, dosen teologi tidak hanya dituntut untuk memiliki kompetensi akademik, namun juga harus dapat memberikan keteladanan bagi mahasiswa yang dibimbingnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode studi literatur untuk mengkaji teks 1 Timotius 4:12. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keteladanan dalam perkataan, perilaku, kasih, dan dalam integritas akademik menjadi kompetensi utama yang harus dimiliki oleh dosen teologi untuk dapat membentuk spiritualitas dan karakter mahasiswa.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study is to explain how the Gotilon festival held by the Huria Kristen Indonesia (HKI) Churches throughout North Sumatra contributes to the implementation of the Three Tasks of the Church. The Gotilon party itself is a traditional festival of the Batak Toba people when celebrating the harvest. The HKI churches throughout North Sumatra have so far included this party as one of the church program. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method through direct observation of the Gotilon festival that took place at the HKI Panei Tongah Church, Panei District, Simalungun Regency. The result of the study revealed that only through this Gotilon festival, the implementation marturia, koinonia, and diaconia can be carried out collaboratively and unite the members of the church congregation.Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan bagaimana pesta Gotilon yang diselenggarakan oleh Gereja-gereja Huria Kristen Indonesia (HKI) se-Sumatera Utara berkontribusi dalam pelaksanaan Tri Tugas Gereja. Pesta Gotilon sendiri adalah merupakan pesta adat masyarakat Batak Toba ketika merayakan hasil panenan. Gereja-gereja HKI se-Sumatera Utara selama ini telah memasukkan pesta ini sebagai salah satu kegiatan gerejawi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui pengamatan langsung atas kegiatan pesta Gotilon yang berlangsung di Gereja HKI Panei Tongah, Kecamatan Panei, Kabupaten Simalungun. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa hanya melalui pesta Gotilon ini pelaksanaan Tri Tugas Gereja, yaitu: marturia, koinonia, dan diakonia dapat dilaksanakan secara kolaboratif dan mempersatukan anggota-anggota jemaat gereja.

Abstract. Theological Colleges (STT) in Indonesia have an important role in preparing religious leaders and strengthening religious organizations. Facing the challenges, STT needs organizational strengthening based on the development of right management science. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of Merilee Serrill Grindle's capacity building theory in organizational strengthening at STT. Using descriptive qualitative methods, this research was conducted through observation, document study, and in-depth interviews with leaders and staff at STT Satyabhakti (Sati). The result of this research showed that the implementation of capacity building in organizational strengthening at STT Sati is going well, but it is necessary to improve the activities of the incentive system and organizational structure, as well as maximizing the function of leaders in developing organizational goals and objectives.Abstrak. Sekolah Tinggi Teologi (STT) di Indonesia memiliki peran penting dalam mempersiapkan pemuka agama dan memperkuat organisasi keagamaan. Menghadapi tantangan dalam perkembangan zaman STT perlu melakukan penguatan organisasi berdasarkan  perkembangan ilmu manajemen yang benar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan teori capacity building Merilee Serrill Grindle dalam penguatan organisasi STT. Dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini dilakukan melalui observasi, studi dokumen, dan wawancara mendalam kepada pimpinan dan staf di STT Satyabhakti (Sati). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi capacity building dalam penguatan organisasi di STT Sati berjalan dengan baik, namun perlu dilakukan peningkatan pada aktivitas sistem insentif dan struktur organisasi, serta pemaksimalan fungsi pimpinan dalam mengembangkan tujuan dan sasaran organisasi.

Abstract

Abstract. The Evangelical Christian Church (GKI) in the Land of Papua is a multicultural church with 250 tribes in Papua and all ethnic groups inhabiting Papua Land. GKI in the Land of Papua is not only faced with a multicultural congregation, but also cultural changes that occur and affect the lives of the Papuan people. In such conditions, many problems arise, along with the emergence of primordialist thinking that leads to internal and external conflicts. Therefore, a multicultural theological education is needed that has an impact on harmony, where everyone can accept and appreciate the differences. In this article, I try to describe multicultural theological education using the concept of James A. Banks' multicultural education. Through dialogue between the concept of James A. Banks' multicultural education and GKI in the Land of Papua as a multicultural church, multicultural theological education is present for GKI in the Land of Papua, namely identity awareness, cultural communication, transformation, spirituality and values.Abstrak. Gereja Kristen Injili (GKI) di Tanah Papua merupakan gereja multikultural dengan 250 suku di Papua dan semua suku bangsa yang mendiami Tanah Papua. GKI di Tanah Papua tidak hanya berhadapan dengan jemaat yang multikultural, tetapi juga perubahan budaya yang terjadi dan memengaruhi kehidupan masyarakat Papua. Dalam kondisi demikian, banyak masalah yang muncul, seiring dengan munculnya pemikiran primodialisme yang berujung pada konflik internal maupun eksternal. Karena itu dibutuhkan sebuah pendidikan teologi multikultural yang berdampak pada keharmonisan, di mana setiap orang bisa saling menerima dan menghargai perbedaan. Dalam tulisan ini, saya berupaya menguraikan pendidikan  teologi multikultural dengan menggunakan konsep pendidikan multikultural James A. Banks. Melalui dialog antara konsep pendidikan multikultural James A. Banks dan GKI di Tanah Papua sebagai gereja multikultural, maka hadir pendidikan teologi multikultural bagi GKI di Tanah Papua, yaitu kesadaran identitas, komunikasi budaya, transformasi, spiritualitas dan nilai.
