Abstract

Abstract. The church is often faced with a dilemma, especially when there is a clash between Christian Religious Education (PAK) and local culture. Christians often assume that the only true Christian tradition is the Christian tradition from the West. To bridge this tension, the Sanggit technique can be implemented in PAK through wayang kulit performances. This study uses a cross-cultural approach by encountering the story of Ghatotkacabadhaparwa in wayang kulit performances with the figure of Jesus Christ, the central figure of Christians. The result of this study indicates that the sanggit technique can help Javanese Christians find their identity, harmonize Christian faith with Javanese culture, and create a young generation with broad insights.Abstrak. Gereja sering diperhadapkan pada situasi dilematis, khususnya saat terjadi benturan antara Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) dengan budaya lokal. Umat Kristen tidak jarang beranggapan bahwa satu-satunya tradisi Kristen yang sejati hanyalah tradisi Kristen dari Barat. Untuk menjembatani ketegangan tersebut, teknik Sanggit dapat diimplementasikan dalam PAK melalui pementasan wayang kulit. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan lintas budaya dengan memperjumpakan cerita Ghatotkacabadhaparwa dalam pementasan wayang kulit dengan tokoh Yesus Kristus, figur sentral umat Kristen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teknik sanggit dapat membantu umat Kristen Jawa dalam menemukan jati dirinya, mengharmonisasikan iman Kristen dengan kebudayaan Jawa, dan mencetak generasi muda yang berwawasan luas.

Abstract

Abstract. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a reality that humans must face in their lives. AI has influenced the way humans work, interact, and form communities. This article aimed to explore and analyze Marius Dorobantu's ideas on church and artificial intelligence. The research method used by the author is a descriptive analysis of Dorobantu's thoughts on artificial intelligence from a theological and ethical perspective. The result of this study indicated that AI should be viewed as a tool, rather than leaving decision-making entirely to AI. The development and implementation of AI must also be based on ethics.Abstrak. Artificial Intelligence (AI) adalah sebuah realita yang harus dihadapi oleh manusia dalam per­jalanan kehidupannya. AI telah memengaruhi cara manusia bekerja, berinteraksi dan berkomunitas. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis gagasan Marius Dorobantu tentang gereja dan kecerdasan buatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh penulis adalah analisis deskriptif terkait pemikiran Dorobantu mengenai kecerdasan buatan dari perspektif teologis dan etis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa AI harus dilihat sebagai tools, dan bukannya menyerahkan pengambilan keputusan secara total kepada AI. Pengembangan maupun penerapan AI juga harus berbasis etika.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore and implement the practice of Lectio Divina and analyze its theological and practical implications for the spiritual growth of Lutheran pastors in North Sumatra, Indonesia. We argue that Lectio Divina is effective for enhancing the spirituality of pastors. This research employs a participatory action research design with qualitative orientation and limited quantitative pre-post measurement. There are several things this study aims to accomplish, namely: to explore the early understanding of Lectio Divina, to delve deeper into and to unravel the history of its emergence and development, and the application of this practice in the ecumenical church in the 21st century. This article also explains the four practical steps of the Lectio Divina spiritual formation. The research found that the implementation of Lectio Divina among pastors had a significant impact on their spiritual growth and behavior. Finally, the author proposes the practice of Lectio Divina can be contextually applied in Indonesian Lutheran churches.

Abstract

Abstract. Logotherapy is one of the third-generation counseling and psychotherapy models from the Vienna psychotherapy school. Viktor Emil Frankl developed the model with an existential analysis approach that emphasizes the spirituality of meaning as its foundation. Because his approach is quite "close" to the religious counseling model, there are currently several synthesis efforts that have been carried out. This study aimed to conduct an integrative study to propose a synthesis theory, namely Existential Logo[s]therapy. This study used descriptive analysis with a constructive approach that refers to Frankl's works and several other relevant studies. As a result, the integrative model of Existential Logo[s]therapy positively contributes to the development of pastoral counseling as an alternative method characterized by theological-philosophical reflection, especially those related to the crisis of meaning and purpose in life.Abstrak. Logoterapi merupakan salah satu model konseling dan psikoterapi generasi ketiga dari mazhab psikoterapi Wina. Viktor Emil Frankl mengembangkan model tersebut dengan pendekatan analisis eksistensial yang menekankan pada spiritualitas makna sebagai landasannya. Karena pendekatannya yang cukup “dekat” dengan model konseling religius, maka saat ini terdapat beberapa usaha sintesis yang telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan kajian integratif untuk mengusulkan teori sintesis, yaitu Logo[s]terapi Eksistensial. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan konstruktif yang mengacu pada karya-karya Frankl serta beberapa penelitian lain yang relevan. Hasilnya, model integratif Logo[s]terapi Eksistensial secara positif memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan konseling pastoral sebagai metode alternatif bercirikan refleksi teologi-filosofis, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan krisis makna serta tujuan hidup.

Abstract

This article attempted to answer the problem formulation, how does the model of ecclesiology based on Asian public theology? Based on this problem formulation, this article aimed to discuss Felix Wilfred's views on Asian public theology, ecclesiological model that is relevant to the perspective of Asian public theology, and the practical implications of the idea on Asian public theology for Church pastoral work. Using a literature study approach, the author attempted to read and explore several of Wilfred's important works on Asian public theology. The result showed that public theology moves outward and opens itself up (inclusive) to meet, embrace and collaborate with others outside the Christian community. Wilfred's Asian public theology perspective always comes from concrete situations, so it is often referred to as subaltern theology.

Abstract

Abstract. This paper aimed to revisit the concept of the Lord's Supper by comparing the pirates' supper episode in the anime One Piece with the early Corinthian communion. The theological lens used in analyzing the encounter between these two different cultures is David Brown's concept of sacramentality. The results of this study indicated that in the Lord's Supper, social relation is the primary value. It communicates the idea of interdependence in life as a whole on something greater than oneself or other limited realities within a community.Abstrak. Tulisan ini hendak mengkaji ulang konsep Perjamuan Kudus dengan memperjumpakan episode perjamuan bajak laut dalam anime One Piece dengan perjamuan awal jemaat Korintus. Lensa teologis yang dipakai dalam menganalisis perjumpaan kedua kultur yang berbeda tersebut adalah konsep sakramentalitas dari David Brown. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam Perjamuan Kudus, relasi sosial merupakan nilai keutamaan. Di dalamnya mengomunikasikan gagasan tentang saling ketergantungan dalam hidup secara keseluruhan pada sesuatu yang lebih besar daripada diri sendiri atau realitas terbatas lainnya dalam sebuah komunitas.

Abstract

Abstract. The term “strawberry generation" is a neologism describing young individuals who appear attractive and bright on the outside but tend to be fragile and less resilient in facing life's pressures. This phenomenon calls for a character education approach that fosters resilience, perseverance, and deep spiritual grounding. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research to explore the integration of Growth Mindset theory and pneumatology (the work of the Holy Spirit) in developing a relevant character education model. The result of this study is a new character education concept called pneumatonousis. This concept emphasizes character formation through inner transformation by the Holy Spirit and the development of a growth-oriented mindset. Pneumatonousis is proposed as an integrative and contextual approach to character education for the strawberry generation, enabling them to become resilient individuals rooted in Christian values.Abstrak. Generasi stroberi merupakan neologisme yang menggambarkan generasi muda yang tampak menarik dan cemerlang dari luar, namun rapuh dan kurang tangguh dalam menghadapi tekanan hidup. Tantangan ini menuntut adanya pendekatan pendidikan karakter yang mampu membentuk ketangguhan dan daya juang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur. Tujuan artikel ini adalah menyinergikan teori Growth Mindset dan karya Roh Kudus untuk membangun sebuah konsep pendidikan karakter yang baru. Hasil penelitian ini adalah konsep pendidikan karakter yang disebut dengan pneumatonousis. Pneumatonousis menekankan proses pembentukan karakter yang bersumber pada transformasi batiniah melalui karya Roh Kudus dan pengembangan pola pikir yang bertumbuh. Model ini ditawarkan sebagai pendekatan integratif dalam pendidikan karakter generasi stroberi agar menjadi generasi yang resilien dan berakar pada nilai-nilai Kristiani.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of a Christian discipleship-based curriculum for character development in drug rehabilitation, addressing the limitations of conventional approaches that often neglect spiritual dimensions. Using document analysis of rehabilitation curricula and program materials, the research examines how faith-based principles facilitate holistic recovery. The analysis reveals four key findings: First, theological foundations of repentance and redemption provide a unique framework for identity transformation. Second, the curriculum effectively combines biblical teaching with experiential learning methods. Third, the integration of psychological principles with spiritual disciplines creates a synergistic approach to recovery. Fourth, while showing promising results in long-term sobriety and moral development, implementation faces challenges like cultural adaptation and resource constraints. The study demonstrates that discipleship-oriented programs offer distinct advantages by addressing both behavioral and existential aspects of addiction. The curriculum's strength lies in its ability to foster purpose-driven transformation through structured spiritual formation.

Abstract

Abstract. Papua has received the Gospel since 1855, yet the anticipated social transformation has not been fully realized. Structural poverty, poor quality of education, moral degradation, and development inequality reveal a significant gap between spiritual growth and social change. This study aimed to explore the role of the church in embodying shalom through a practical theological approach. Employing a qualitative method framed by Don S. Browning and Richard R. Osmer’s practical theological cycle, this research examined historical, social, and theological reflections. The findings indicate that the stagnation of social transformation is primarily influenced by three factors: the dogmatization of church ministry, uneven modernization, and limited access to education. Therefore, an incarnational praxis model that integrates contextual evangelism, early faith formation through Early Childhood Christian Education aligned with local culture, and synergy between the church, government, and community is a necessity.Abstrak. Papua telah menerima Injil sejak 1855, namun transformasi sosial yang diharapkan belum sepenuhnya terwujud. Kemiskinan struktural, rendahnya mutu pendidikan, degradasi moral, serta ketimpangan pembangunan menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan antara pertumbuhan rohani dan perubahan sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran gereja dalam menghadirkan shalom melalui pendekatan teologi praktis. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan kerangka lingkaran teologi praktis Don S. Browning dan Richard S. Osmer, penelitian ini menelaah data historis, sosial, serta refleksi teologis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa stagnasi transformasi sosial dipengaruhi oleh tiga hal utama: dogmatisasi pelayanan gereja, modernisasi yang timpang, dan rendahnya akses pendidikan. Karena itu diperlukan model praksis inkarnasional yang mengintegrasikan penginjilan kontekstual, formasi iman sejak usia dini melalui Pendidikan Kristen Anak Usia Dini yang selaras dengan budaya lokal, serta sinergi antara gereja, pemerintah, dan komunitas.
