The average amount of income from the total number of paddy rice farmers in the study area is Rp.6,607,911 / planting season, with an average amount of production of 2,936 kg / planting season. 2). The results of the identification of factors that become the strength of farmers in the field consist of farmer motivation, farmer experience, suitability of paddy fields, level of technology adoption. 3). The results of the identification of factors that become farmers' weaknesses in the field consist of lack of capital, use of fertilizer that is less than the maximum, wide land area that is still narrow, the dynamics of farmer groups. 4). The results of the identification of factors that provide opportunities for farmers in the field consist of access to credit, ease of availability of seeds and fertilizer, availability of means of production assistance, government support in the construction of salt water fortifications. 5). The results of the identification of factors that pose a threat to farmers in the field consist of seasons (rainfall), rising input prices, outside family labor, pest and disease attacks. Then the strategy that can be applied to increase the income of lowland rice farmers in the study area is in quadrant IV is the Defensive Strategy (WT) which means the focus of the strategy that must be done by farmers is to optimize weaknesses to avoid various threats.

Abstract

In the learning process, it is found that there are many students who do not master and understand farming analysis. So that their mastery in responsible for the results of their research when the thesis session on the topic of farming analysis is experiencing many difficulties. The results of research on students' opinions on the problems of learning media and learning implementation show that manual farming calculations are no longer relevant, not interesting and not representative anymore. Utilization of Microsoft Excel program technology produces innovative, professional students so students are able to contribute in the world of work of the industrial revolution 4.0. Stages of farming analysis using Microsoft Excel applications that will be carried out are; 1). Input data from farmers to be analyzed in their farming, 2). Identify and calculate farming costs, namely fixed costs and variable costs, 3). Calculating farm receipts, 4). Calculating farm income, 5). Conduct R / C analysis and B / C, 6). Make interpretations and conclusions from the results of the analysis obtained.

Abstract

Palm leaf fronds have the potential to be used as compost material. The utilization of palm oil used as compost stems from the large number of palm oil leaves that are discarded when harvesting is not used. Moreover, in the palm oil company, after harvesting the leaves of the palm oil, it is only thrown away that is increasingly piled up on company land. Based on this, a research on adding Palm Kernel Cake (PKC) solid waste for the composting process can accelerate the decomposition process and as a food enhancer in the composting process. This is also carried out a business feasibility sensitivity analysis to determine whether a business is feasible in composting oil palm fronds with an increase in price of 1-10%. The research was conducted This research was carried out in the greenhouse of the Agricultural Agribusiness College of Agriculture (STIPAP) Medan in April to June 2019. This research used a descriptive design that explains the process flow of the cost component of the feasibility of the business feasibility of making oil palm frond compost using solid waste Palm Kernel Cake. The results showed that the business of making oil palm frond compost using Palm Kernel Cake benefited from a 1-10% price increase of Rp. 613,117-Rp. 489,534 and was still feasible to run with a total production cost of a 1-10% increase in the amount of Rp. 1,386,883- IDR 1,510,466. R / C Ratio 1.44-1.34 from 1-10% increase is feasible to run because R / C Ratio 1 and B / C Ratio value 0.44-0.34 is not feasible to run because B / C Ratio 1.
