al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies is published by Association of Secondment Lecturers (Asosiasi Dosen DPK) UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung Indonesia. Focus of al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies is on publishing original empirical research articles and theoretical reviews of Islamic Studies, it covers various issues on the Islamic studies within such number of fields as Islamic Education, Islamic thought, Islamic law, political Islam, and Islamic economics from social and cultural perspectives and content analysis from al-Qur’an and Hadist.
In other than forementioned field in Islamic Studies, al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies also accepts articles which cover the topic on the cross section between Islam Studies and other scientific field, such as sociology, law, economics, and others.

<![CDATA[Indonesia operates a dual banking system, namely a conventional banking system using an interest rate system and Islamic banking with a profit-sharing system. The growth of Islamic banks has not been able to keep up with conventional banks. This can be seen from the low market share of Islamic finance. There needs to be a strategy and model to increase public understanding of Islamic banks. The "Blueprint for Islamic Banking Development in Indonesia" includes a series of strategic initiatives with clear priorities to address key challenges and achieve goals in the next 10 years, including the achievement of a sizable market share for Islamic banking by deepening the role of Islamic banking in national, regional, and international financial activities, in addition to the vision, mission, and objectives of Islamic banking development. The study aims to determine the development strategy and increase understanding of Islamic banks and describe public perceptions of the existence of Islamic banks. The data collection method is done by drawing samples from the population: namely students and female students of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The technique of collecting data through questionnaires, while analyzing the data by analyzing the validity, reliability and finding the percentage of respondents. The results showed that the data we studied showed validity because we used validity and reliability tests. There is still indecision/neutral attitude of the community towards the understanding of usury.]]>

<![CDATA[The history of magic is closely related to the civilization of Prophet Solomon, as well as the two figures named harut and marut. As narrated in the Qur'an, in surah al-Baqarah verse 102. Many scholars and mufasir poured their knowledge to study this verse so as to produce various views on it. Magic is considered a mistake and forbidden thing, as in Islam itself magic is a form of shirk, brings evil, and invites the wrath of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. However, how can things that are so forbidden and considered wrong, can actually spread widely to various parts of the world. This paper tries to understand the history of magic and various worldviews on magic, to its practice that still exists in modern society. This research is descriptive qualitative research that seeks to describe magical phenomena ranging from their history to their influence on different civilizations. As a result of this research, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala refuted the accusations against Prophet Solomon for the use of magic through his word, surah al-Baqarah verse 102. While various interpretations of who the real figure of harut and marut is. Behind all that, magic requires something as a payment to achieve its goals, ranging from animals to even human lives. Viewed from any side, magic is present as a test. If used, the practice is only to satisfy man's pseudo-desires and bring destruction to man himself.]]>

M Amin Abdullah's Islamic relationship to science is the Theo anthropocentric concept of Interconnection Integration with the symbol of a Spider Web. leads to the Islamization of integration typology science. Meanwhile, Agus Purwanto is the relation of Islamic science in the construction of Islamic science with an approach to Kauniyyah verses including the integration variant of the Islamization of science pattern. What about the Book of Tafsir Verses on Science written by Andri Nirwana? This research is qualitative research, critical discourse analysis, the study of scientists' thinking using document studies in the form of books, journals, diktats and other notes. As well as adding direct interviews with the author to confirm any required data. This article finds the results of an analysis study of Islamic science relations carried out on Andri Nirwana's thoughts. Andri Nirwana is the author of a book that applies Reasoning Burhani in the Kauniyyah verses approach, he tries to break down the pattern of Islamic science relations in the book "Tafsir Ayat Ayat Ilmu". The results of research carried out by researchers are the findings of the relationship between Reasoning Burhani and Kauniyah verses, namely the linking of verses from the Qur'an to science and technology, especially science with the pattern of Islamization of science, patterns of justification and sacralization and the relationship of Islamic science in the construction of Islamic science with a verse approach. -Kauniyyah verses are included in the integrated variant of the Islamization of science pattern.]]>

<![CDATA[The problem of bullying that occurs in the world of education requires a solution to overcome this bullying problem. This research aims to analyze the role of lecturers in strengthening the character of integrity as a bullying effort at UIN SUKA Yogyakarta, so that bullying problems that occur among students do not occur again. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, data collection is by direct observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by researchers by reducing data, displaying data and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the role of lecturers at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has its own strategy in strengthening the character of integrity so that it has an impact on commendable morals and ethics. The lecturers' strategies in efforts to create anti-bullying include character education and ethical learning, fostering inclusive communities, empowering students to become positive leaders and using case studies and ethical discussions. This strategy was felt by the students to be quite effective, so that students responded well, because students understood and understood the impact on bullying behavior.]]>

<![CDATA[Learning media is one of the components in learning apart from learning objectives, materials, educators and students, methods and assessment. Good learning media is adapted to developments in science and technology. Based on these developments, learning media is needed that can attract students' attention in learning. As in learning Arabic, one type of media used is audiovisual media based on language learning videos and applications that can support the learning process. The study in this article uses a qualitative research method based on library research with data collection techniques using documentation techniques. Qualitative research is research that produces descriptive data such as written words resulting from observing people's behavior. This research focuses on the traditions carried out by the people of Lombok, starting from welcoming the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan to traditions after celebrating Eid or Eid al-Fitr. These traditions have existed for a long time and are a heritage that is guarded and preserved and used as an activity or routine by the people of Lombok. <![CDATA[This research is motivated by the need to gain a deeper understanding of the application of the SCAMPER method in Arabic creative writing among students. The qualitative method is used with three stages, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusions. In the learning context, the lecturer explains the SCAMPER stages before giving the topic to students. The aim of this research is to provide additional insight into the use of SCAMPER in increasing Arabic writing creativity. This research methodology adopts a qualitative survey model approach with a cross-sectional design. Researchers used a questionnaire distributed to 25 MPI students via Google Form after they took part in learning using the SCAMPER method. The survey results were analyzed to diagnose student attitudes, beliefs, or practices regarding the use of SCAMPER in Arabic writing. Research findings show that the use of SCAMPER has a significant positive impact in increasing enthusiasm for learning, understanding of the material, and Arabic writing skills among MPI students. Although most respondents did not have a complete understanding of SCAMPER beforehand, the survey results showed a high level of willingness to adopt this method in their learning. Further efforts are needed to provide a deeper understanding of the use of SCAMPER in improving Arabic writing skills. Therefore, there is a good opportunity to introduce and integrate SCAMPER into the curriculum to improve Arabic writing skills among MPI STAI Al-Hikam students.]]>

<![CDATA[The role of a leader and his ability to manage an institution are benchmarks for the success of that institution. This research aims to analyze the extent of involvement of Islamic boarding school leaders in managing learning. In detail, the researcher wants to describe the role of Islamic boarding school leaders in planning learning, implementing learning and their role in coordinating and evaluating post-learning processes. The reason the researcher raised this theme was based on the fact that an Islamic boarding school leader has busier activities outside the Islamic boarding school environment, than within his own Islamic boarding school environment. So that the management of the institution is entrusted to subordinates. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques are through interviews, observation and documentation studies. The collected research data is then analyzed by reviewing all the data obtained in the field and arranged in a more systematic manner. The results of the research show that Islamic boarding school leaders have carried out their role as fully as possible in managing learning in accordance with the leadership's functions and duties which are based on functions in management.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the resilience of calamity in the Qur'an. This research is a literature research that uses a qualitative approach. The analysis technique used is content analysis using the thematic method. The data of this research is taken from the verses of the Quran and assisted by interpretation sourced from the books of Tafsir. This study concluded that resilience to calamity in the Qur'an found three kinds: patience, repentance, and tawakkal. Patience is explained by the Qur'an in the story of Prophet Ayyub when he had a disaster in the form of illness. Repentance is defined by the Qur'an in the story of the prophet Adam when he received a disaster in the form of being lowered to the earth. Tawakkal is explained by the Qur'an in the story of the prophet Ibrahim when he was burned alive by King Namrud. These three values can be formulated and become one of the methods of spiritual resilience in the Qur'an.]]>
