Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between reading interest and students' reading comprehension ability. Research approach using quantitative with correlational study method. The subjects of this study were students of class VA and VB at SD Negeri Karya Bhakti totaling 90 students. The sample was taken by 47 students, then this study was obtained using a five-scale questionnaire for the Reading Interest and Reading Comprehension Ability variables using tests. Therefore, from the data obtained, it was found that a moderate relationship between reading interest and reading comprehension ability was seen from the accumulated calculation results, which was 30% such as using the time to read books in the library, while 70% is influenced by other factors such as students who are motivated by the teacher to increase reading interest so that students can to read a comprehension and other factors are also influenced from outside of students, namely when doing tasks, students are guided and assisted by parents. . Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between Reading Interest and Reading Comprehension Ability in class VA and VB students of SD Negeri Karya Bhakti Odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.

Abstract

Prospective teachers who get the 7th semester of Drama and Dance Education courses must have competence, one of which is that the teacher can present interesting learning for children with a drama approach, as a multidisciplinary knowledge that can be taught using role playing methods that are taught more interesting, fun, meaningful, interactive and rich experience. As a student, you can develop multiple intelligence in this subject. Programmed and scheduled musical drama training systems are indeed interesting, because each student is given the freedom to give assessments, provide reinforcement, support, correct weaknesses, mistakes and even object to the work of other groups with the strengths and points of view of the subjectivity expressed by each. students. As a result, sportsmanship is needed in this regard. Through an empirical qualitative approach, with lesson study-based inductive thinking logic. This study aims to describe the various intelligences that appear in learning dance drama, especially the work practice of dance drama projects (musical dramas), both individually and in groups obtained from the performance appraisal contained in the instrument. Important notes in the discussion found several findings about the application of Multiple Intelligences in learning dance and drama, namely: 1) Tools to achieve success that are more concerned with the process of achieving results, 2) Integrative Learning dance drama combines various intelligences, 3) Learning dance and dance drama becomes full of challenges, and more fun, 4) Care for the individual differences of students so that emotional management is needed, 5) Instructional based learning is firm and clearly measurable, 6) The importance of reflection for further improvement, 7) Clarity of goals, achievement of competence and each student's feedback needs to be done.

Abstract

The implementation of this research was motivated by a lack of activity and student participation in lectures on elementary school social studies. Students tend to be silent without showing activity during lectures. This is certainly far from what is expected that in the lecture students should ideally participate actively in asking, answering, recording the essence of the lecture, presenting, and concluding the lecture material. The subject of the study was a student of the 2017 B class, which numbered 39 people. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether the application of effective discussion methods to increase the activeness of FKIP UNRI PGSD students in elementary school social studies. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the application of the discussion method in elementary school social studies lectures at the FKIP UNRI PGSD students. This type of research is descriptive with qualitative methods. Data collection techniques are observation and interview techniques. Based on the research data analysis shows that the activeness indicators ask questions, from the four active student meetings an average of 22 people 56. people (61.53%) and Activity Indicators present 26 people (66.66%).41%, indicators respond to questions or opinions, active students 22 people 56.41%, Activity Indicators discuss and work together with active students 26 people (66.66%), Activity Indicators write material and summarize active student material 24. Based on the data that has been obtained, it can be concluded that the application of the discussion method in elementary school social studies

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop teaching materials using the discovery learning model to improve thematic learning outcomes in elementary schools. This research aims to develop thematic teaching materials based on the discovery learning model for fourth grade students of elementary school and to describe the feasibility of thematic teaching materials products based on the discovery learning model. This type of research is research and development (R&D). The development model used is the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation and Evaluate) model. The results of research on thematic teaching materials based on discovery learning are from the results of assessments carried out by media experts, material experts and students' responses during field trials. The results of the validation show that the overall score is 3.7 so that it is included in the "very good" category and the overall eligibility percentage is 93% so that it is included in the "very appropriate" category. Based on the above explanation, it can be concluded that the thematic teaching materials are based on discovery learning are suitable for learning for fourth grade students of elementary school.

Abstract

Education in the age of the industrial revolution 4.0 requires teachers to become innovative; teachers need to be able to adapt science and technology innovations to learning trends in the classroom. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach is an alternative learning approach that allows students to have the complete skills desired by 21st century learning. Utilizing the STEM approach in a learning environment allows several topics to be effectively learned in a grade II elementary classroom. One STEM approach used ‘Potatoes in My Head’, has learners learn about food ingredients, using measuring instruments, as well as basic techniques of engineering. This paper is the result of best practices carried out by the teacher in the second semester of the 2018/2019 academic year and involved 29 second grade students at a public elementary school in Bukittinggi, Indonesia. The aim is to see the improvement of students’ learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. The knowledge was gathered through observation strategies and assessments of learning outcomes. The findings showed that the STEM approach in the Potatoes in My Head operation helped enhance learning outcomes and the students’ critical thinking skills.

Based on the explanation above shows the importance of value education in society. The potential that must be developed in this educational process is the values in local wisdom, especially in the formation of social integration in a society. Character education in primary education with an ethnopedagogical approach through a culture of education based on local wisdom of the Madurese ethnic can function as development: developing the potential of students to become good behavior for students who have attitudes and behaviors that reflect the culture and character of the nation. Improvement: strengthening the work of national education to be responsible for developing the potential of students who are more dignified. Filter: to filter the cultures of one's own nation and the cultures of other nations that are not in accordance with cultural values and national character.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study ethnomathematics aspects contained in Chinese Tulou architecture. The study uses the qualitative research method to describe the ethnomathematics value of Tulou building in China, and then connect Chinese Tulou building with mathematics. The method of data collection is document's content analysis. The study found that Chinese Tulou contains a wealth of mathematical knowledge, including mathematical knowledge of geometric figures in mathematics, such as circle, triangle, rectangle, square, octagon, cylinder, octaprism, as well as the area and volume of geometric figures. Therefore, in daily teaching life, teachers can use Tulou as teaching materials, which was not only help students understand mathematics knowledge but also improve the enthusiasm of students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of a math picture book (MPB) on the properties of 2-D shapes designed for primary students, and to find out how it can stimulate primary students' understanding about the properties of 2-D shapes. The method used in this research is design research based on Plomp’s development model. The development research was carried out from designing MPB, validating with two experts, and testing with primary students in two stages, namely one-to-one and small group experiments. Based on experts’ reviews, the designed MPB met very valid criteria, and the students and teachers also provided positive responses to the quality of designed MPBs. From experimenting it to six primary students in the experiment, it shows that students could explain the properties of 2-D shapes after reading the MPB. Therefore, the developed MPB had a positive impact on students’ understand the properties of 2-D shapes.
