Abstract

Learning in the fashion business field requires considerable time and effort because it combines theoretical concepts of business management with practical sewing procedures. These complex learning activities often make it difficult for students to fully comprehend and apply the material effectively. This study aimed to determine the feasibility and suitability of a jobsheet-assisted module developed using the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) model for Fashion Business learning. The research employed a research and development (R&D) method following the 4D stages. The feasibility of the developed module was validated by material experts (87.7%), media experts (93.8%), and students through small, medium, and large group trials. The small group trial involving 10 students achieved 88.25%, the medium group trial with 25 students reached 91.8%, and the large group trial involving 37 students achieved 96.4%, all of which fall into the very suitable category. These results indicate that the jobsheet-assisted module is feasible and suitable for use as a learning medium in Fashion Business courses, providing an integrated approach that connects management concepts with hands-on sewing practice.

Abstract

Learning in the fashion atelier business requires students to integrate competencies in business management, customer service, and professional sewing techniques. However, limited class time and the lack of interactive media often hinder students’ ability to learn independently and apply these skills effectively. This study developed a hypercontent-based e-module integrated with job sheets to enhance independent learning in the Fashion Atelier Business course. The research employed the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) as a systematic development framework. Validation results showed high feasibility: material experts = 89% and media experts = 93%, both categorized as “very good.” User trials yielded positive responses, with scores of 88.5%, 91.2%, and 94.6% for small, medium, and large groups, respectively. These results indicate that the e-module is valid, practical, and effective for vocational learning. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of hypercontent elements with practical job sheets, offering an interactive and self-paced digital learning experience that bridges theory and practice. This innovation supports students’ entrepreneurial readiness and aligns vocational education with Industry 4.0 learning needs, providing a model for technology-enhanced fashion education.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of perceptions of the teaching profession and self-efficacy on the interest in becoming an economics teacher, with learning motivation as a mediating variable. The research employed a quantitative approach and was conducted on 55 students of the Economics Education Study Program at Langlangbuana University. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method through the SmartPLS 4.1.1.2 application. The results showed that perceptions of the teaching profession had a significant effect on learning motivation but did not have a significant effect on the interest in becoming a teacher. Likewise, self-efficacy had a significant effect on learning motivation but did not significantly affect the interest in becoming a teacher. Learning motivation had a significant effect on the interest in becoming a teacher. Moreover, learning motivation significantly mediated the relationship between perceptions of the teaching profession and the interest in becoming a teacher, as well as between self-efficacy and the interest in becoming a teacher. These findings confirmed that learning motivation was a key factor in fostering students’ interest in becoming economics teachers. Therefore, it could be concluded that hypotheses H2 and H4 were rejected, while H1, H3, H5, H6, and H7 were accepted in this study. This research contributed substantially to the development of interest in becoming an economics teacher through a deeper understanding of the roles of perceptions of the teaching profession, self-efficacy, and learning motivation as psychological factors that could be strengthened to cultivate students’ commitment and enthusiasm toward the teaching profession in the field of economics.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of variable X, namely the TGT cooperative learning model assisted by a snakes and ladders game, on variable Y, namely the mathematics learning outcomes of second-grade students at SD Negeri 104276 Pulau Tagor in the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this study is the low learning outcomes of students in multiplication material due to the dominance of the lecture method and the lack of use of interesting learning media. The method used is the experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. There were 28 students as research subjects. The instrument used was a learning outcome test to determine the changes before and after the treatment. The pretest results showed that the average student score was 59.57 with a mastery level of only 39.28% or 11 out of 28 students. After implementing the TGT learning model assisted by snakes and ladders, the posttest results increased significantly with an average score of 81.25 and a mastery level of 89.29% or 25 out of 28 students. Thus, there was an increase in learning mastery of 50.01%. Based on the results of the research calculations, it shows that there is an effect of the Team Games Tournament Cooperative Learning Model Assisted by a Snake and Ladder Board Game on the mathematics learning outcomes of Grade II students at SD Negeri 104276 Pulau Tagor in the 2024/ 2025, where rhitung ≥ rtabel, namely 0.927 ≥ 0.373, there is a high effect, and thitung ≥ ttabel, where thitung 6.518 ≥ ttabel 2.064 at a significance level of α = 0.05. Thus, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect between the use of the TGT cooperative learning model assisted by snakes and ladders (variable X) on improving students' mathematics learning outcomes (variable Y).

Abstract

The research aims to analyze the effect of the Quantum Teaching model. The results show that the average learning outcome of IPAS in grade IV is 82.13, which is categorized as good. Of the 30 students studied, 24 students (84%) met the Minimum Passing Criteria (KKTP), while 4 students (16%) did not meet the KKTP. This study is a quantitative study that aims to determine the effect of the Quantum Teaching model on student learning outcomes in IPAS in grade IV at SD Negeri 155712 Tumba Jae 2. The population was all 30 students in grade IV. The sample was taken based on the total sampling technique, namely 30 students. Student learning outcomes showed that the average pre-test score for fourth-grade students was 54.8, while the post-test score was 82.13. The results of this study indicate that the learning outcomes of IPAS students using the Quantum Teaching learning model are in the strong category with a correlation coefficient of 0.902, which means that rcount 0,902 ≥ rtable 0.36), so Ha is accepted. Furthermore, hypothesis testing shows that tcount is 11.077, while ttable is 2.048, proving that the hypothesis is greater than ttable, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the Quantum Teaching model (X) has a positive and significant effect on learning outcomes (Y). This indicates that the Quantum Teaching learning model has an effect on students' IPAS learning outcomes. Thus, all questionnaire instruments in this study are declared reliable and trustworthy, as they have met the minimum requirements specified.

Abstract

Early reading and writing skills are the main basis for the development of students' literacy in elementary school. However, observation results show that many students in the lower grades still have difficulty recognizing letters, pronouncing sounds, and writing with good neatness and readability. This study aims to analyze the initial reading and writing ability of second grade students of SDN Pendem 01 and identify the factors that affect it. The study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation of teachers and 10 students who were selected purposively. The results of the study showed that most students were able to read and write simple words and sentences, but there were still difficulties in distinguishing similar letters (b–d, p–q), understanding the content of the reading, and maintaining the proportion of writing. The main causative factors include limited exercise at home, differences in cognitive and fine motor skills, and learning methods that are still mechanical. Teachers try to overcome these obstacles through the use of letter card media, phonetic exercises, and interesting contextual writing activities. These findings confirm that reading and writing develop in parallel and reinforce each other, therefore, continuous collaboration between teachers and parents is needed in stimulating students' basic literacy in a systematic and fun manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reading literacy ability of grade 3 students at SDN Cimone 1 Tangerang City. The qualitative descriptive method was used in this study with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, tests, and documentation. The results of the study show that most students have good reading literacy skills, characterized by the ability to recognize letters, read words and sentences, and understand the content of simple reading. Teachers have implemented various strategies to improve students' literacy skills, such as the habit of reading for 30 minutes at the beginning of learning, the use of reading corners, group discussions, and the use of various learning media such as storybooks, magazines, and the internet. However, there are still some students who have difficulty reading fluently and understanding the meaning of the text in depth. This shows the need for an individualized approach and more varied learning to reach all students. Overall, the results of this study reveal that students' reading literacy skills are quite good, but they require improvement and special attention for students with disabilities. This finding is expected to be a reference for the development of reading literacy programs in elementary schools.

Abstract

Low verbal participation remains a barrier to active learning, particularly in hybrid classrooms. This mixed-methods action research evaluated the Student-Selected Buddy System (SSBS), a peer-support intervention promoting verbal engagement through student autonomy and collaboration. Implemented in a Grade 12 STEM hybrid class, the SSBS significantly increased verbal participation (pre-test M = 2.92 to post-test M = 3.10, p < .05), with 63% of students improving. Qualitative data revealed enhanced confidence, collaboration, and the critical role of relatable topics and teacher facilitation. Addressing a gap in student-centered verbal engagement strategies, this study introduces the Peer-Supported Verbal Engagement Model (PSVEM)-a novel, theory-grounded framework integrating autonomy, peer scaffolding, and teacher support. Designed for replicability across K-12, higher education, and online/in-person modalities, PSVEM provides educators with practical, adaptable guidelines to promote inclusive dialogue. Scalable and context-flexible, PSVEM empowers teachers worldwide to boost student voice and transform classroom dynamics through peer-driven interaction.

Abstract

The 21st century learning paradigm emphasizes the development of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to prepare learners with essential competencies such as critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and creativity. This study developed HOTS-based learning materials for the Makeup Room Decoration course using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with a Case Method (CM) and the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model with a Team-Based Project (TBP) approach. The research employed Thiagarajan’s 4-D model, consisting of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The developed products included a Semester Learning Plan (RPS), an e-book with video tutorials, and a HOTS test instrument. The research trials were conducted in three stages-expert validation, limited trials, and field trials-involving experts, lecturers, and students. Data were collected using observation sheets, validation forms, assessment questionnaires, and tests. The results indicated that the developed learning materials met the criteria for validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The RPS was categorized as highly valid (Aiken’s V = 0.8375), the e-book as moderately valid (V = 0.723 by learning design experts and V = 0.823 by media experts), and the HOTS test instrument as highly valid (V = 0.937). The limited trials showed that the materials were very practical, while field trials demonstrated effectiveness with an average student achievement rate of 81.7%. These findings confirm that the developed learning materials are feasible and effective in enhancing students’ higher-order thinking skills in the Makeup Room Decoration course of the Beauty Education Program at the State University of Medan.
