Abstract

The purpose of this research, was to reveal the implementation of habituation in students’ character building, to find out the students’ character; and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of habituation on the students’ character. The method of this research was descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The findings revealed that SD Inpres Andi Tonro had implemented various kinds of habituation to build the five main character values in the 2013 curriculum, namely (a) Religious, (b) Nationalism, (c) Independent, (d) Cooperation, (e) Integrity. The habituation in th students’ character building at SD Inpres Andi Tonro Makassar was implemented through routine programs. The school activity program had been planned before the new academic year began. The students’ activity program was well organized. Moreover, the habituation carried out every day also had a good impact on the students’ character because  it was getting better than before. However, some students still  did not have a good character. This was due to the various obstacles, including students’ different backgrounds, lack of parents’ attention, the unfavorable environment, the teachers’ limitations to control students at home, and the students who brought smartphones to school. Apart from the obstacles, there were also some supporting factors, such as the government supports on the character education, adequate human resources, the completeness of school facilities and infrastructure, and extracurricular activities.

Abstract

The problem in this research was that PGMI students at UMSB found it difficult to understand Mathematics learning for MI. It was observed that the students did not participate actively  and think creatively. This was indicated by the low participation in learning. This research objective was to improve the ability to understand mathematics learning at PGMI with Discovery Learning model. This research utilized qualitative and quantitative research methods with a type of Classroom Action Research. The research was conducted in 2 cycles for 2 meetings in each cycle. Data were collectedthrough pretest, posttest, observation, and interviews related to the learning process  before and after implementing discovry learning model. The results of pretest revealed that 45% of students thought quite creatively while 50% of students thought less creatively, and only 5% of students thought  very creatively. The first meeting in Cycle I was conducted through online discovery learning model with Zoom application and it was seen that 12.5% of students had a very high activeness level, 25% of students had high level of activeness, and 62.5% of students had moderate activeness. Then, the percentage of creative thinking was 67% and for less creative thinking was 25%, while 8% of students think very creatively. In Cycle II it was found that the level of students’ activeness increased to 17% for very high activeness; 67% of students had high level of activeness, and 16% of students had moderate activeness. Then, it was also found that 80% of students thought creatively and 20% of them thought very creatively. The increase in the average score and the average percentage of completeness indicated that the implementation of discovery learning model improved PGMI students’ understanding about  mathematics learning for MI

Abstract

In support of an effective and efficient learning process, teachers need to determine how to strategize in appropriate learning. One of the strategies used in foreign language learning is to use learning media, but most teachers do conventional learning without using any learning media. Song is one of the appropriate learning media in language learning especially foreign languages. The purpose of this paper is to show the benefits of using learning media for foreign language songs in foreign language learning at elementary school  so the teacher can switch to using effective learning media. The results obtained from the study of this article is that the use of songs on strengthening foreign language skills is recommended because it can help students master 2 of 4 skills, namely listening and speaking. Learners are also more motivated by the use of Song Media in learning because songs create a learning environment that is not boring. Although search websites about songs in learning are declining, but until now it is still sought and quite attractive to the public.

Abstract

This research utilized a descriptive method which was conducted in one class, namely the experimental class. The instrument used to collect data was multiple choice questions. The hypotheses were examined by the "t" test. The results of statistical calculations revealed that Group Investigation learning model significantly influenced the studets’ learning outcomes on the material of “Lingkungan Sahabat Kita” sub-theme of environmental changes at grade VSD Negeri 101859 Rambai the academic year 2019/2020. This was supported by the average score in posttest which was in the excellent category. Based on the research results, Group Investigation type cooperative learning model gave a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes with tcount > ttable (9.385 > 1.6838) at the significant level α = 0.05. Thus, Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. After that, the result of t-test data analysis found that tcount > ttable (1.449> 1.683851) at a significant level of 5%. It can be concluded that hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Thus, this learning model was feasible to be implemented in the learning process, especially in influencing better learning outcomes.
