Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze: objectives, materials, methods, and assessment of Kitab Kuning learning with an integrative approach. This study originated from students assumption that difficult to study Kitab Kuning because it requires good reading skills and mastery of language rules. Kitab Kuning learning at Islamic boarding school was not effective due to decreased interest, quality and competence of students in reading Kitab Kuning. Only a few educational institutions under Islamic boarding school whose study Kitab Kuning is effective. This study uses a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis methods. Data collection observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using interactive analysis. Data validity test was done by triangulating source. This study’s results are: Objectives of Kitab Kuning learning with integrative approach are to build a scientific environment in developing Islamic scientific tradition at elementary-middle level; increasing quality and quantity of competent students in reading Kitab Kuning; preparing room heads cadre who are competent in guiding students in Islamic scholarship especially in guidance Kitab Kuning; and preparing cadres of Ma'had ʻAly Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Sukorejo Situbondo. The materials are al-Qur'an/Tajwid, Nahwu, Sharraf, Mantiq, Balaghah, Fiqh, Fiqh Ibadah, Fiqh al-Qur'an, Methodic Fiqh, Thematic Fiqh, Usul Fiqh, Qawa'id Fiqh, Akhlaq, Tawhid, and BMK. The methods are discussion method, bandongan method, lecture method, question and answer method, and problem solving method/bahtsul masail. The assessments are entrance test, formative and summative, and knockout assessment.

Abstract

The subject (Basis of education) is one of the most important educational and psychological subjects in the curricula of the College of Education, and the teacher of this subject is the backbone of the scientific life of these colleges. Those in charge of teaching this vital subject aspire to acquire many professional competencies that enhance their scientific capabilities in teaching. To obtain more educational and psychological experiences necessary in their field of specialization, they make a permanent need for the scientific skills and social characteristics that should be provided by the teacher of the subject (foundations of education) in the classroom.

Abstract

Non-native speakers of the Arabic language face various problems in learning Arabic rhetoric, including that the traditional lesson may be devoid of the motivation and enjoyment that the learner needs, which has the most significant impact on raising the level of accuracy and linguistic fluency, so it was necessary to employ means that the learners desire to overcome these problems. One of those means is language games. This research aimed to reveal the effect of using language games in learning Arabic rhetoric among learners of Arabic language of other languages from their point of view. Also, describe the evaluation of their impressions and monitor their perceptions towards employing language games in their learning. The research adopted the quantitative approach using the questionnaire tool, and a questionnaire Bicen Kocakoyun translated into Arabic was adopted in the study of Aboukhateta. This questionnaire consisted of twenty-seven questions according to the five-year Likert scale, and it included three axes: the impact of language games on mastering Arabic rhetoric from the student's point of view, evaluating students' impressions of language games, and monitoring their perceptions about language games in learning Arabic rhetoric. This questionnaire was distributed to thirty Malaysian students of Arabic-speaking non-native speakers at Yarmouk University in a purposeful manner. The research results showed that non-native Arabic language learners see a significant impact of using language games in learning Arabic rhetoric and that these learners have good impressions and perceptions about employing language games in learning Arabic rhetoric.

Abstract

Vocabulary wealth for every learner is a must. Without an extensive vocabulary, it will hinder the ability to speak, but in reality, learners of Arabic. Therefore, this study will reveal language games as an alternative to improving Arabic vocabulary skills. The research was conducted at Tahfizh Al-Qur'an Daarul Ukhuwah Elementary School Malang, Indonesia, using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through Google Forms and guided interviews with 30 grade 1 and 3-grade students and 4 Arabic teachers. The data collected were analyzed through the stages of reducing, presenting, and concluding. The results of this study indicate that the language game "guess animals and objects, guess the word" is an alternative learning model that teachers can use in teaching Arabic vocabulary that is fun and oriented to students. The findings of this study describe that students find meaning in learning Arabic vocabulary using language games because the learning process is fun and enjoyable.

Abstract

A language is a communication tool that has many functions. In academic writing, language performs certain functions, such as providing information, analyzing, comparing, and categorizing. Quality academic writing should show proper educational function through accurate and appropriate language. This study investigated academic language functions in Arabic language research articles. This study is based on several issues, such as the weaknesses of students and researchers in producing quality research reports, the need to understand the diversity of the academic language function in Arabic, as well as the lack of studies in the literary language based on the function of the academic language in Arabic. This study uses the descriptive qualitative approach and content analysis method. The analyzed content was sentenced that contained academic language functions. Sentences containing academic language functions were taken from 30 research articles in the field of Arabic written by native Arabic speakers. The analysis of language functions in the study was done using 12 academic language functions by Chamot and O'Malley (1994) and Dutro and Muran (2003). The study results found that writers use various academic functions to achieve the desired purpose. Various language registers are used for the function to be presented. Similarly, the use of language functions was also influenced by multiple aspects such as the research components (problem statement, objectives, etc), factors of the type of study (quantitative and qualitative), and others. For example, predicting and hypothesizing functions and problem-solving functions are more likely to be used in quantitative studies. This differs from qualitative studies that use other functions, such as informing and summarizing. In conclusion, the writers were seen to be successful in conveying the function of academic language in their writing by using appropriate vocabulary and sentences according to the function they wanted to share.

Abstract

Indonesian students are weak in critical thinking, as well as the curiosity of researchers about what strategies are suitable for improving speaking skills, this study aims to find a strategy using concept maps with several stages that will train students' skills in reading, vocabulary, write and speak. This study aims to describe the application of the concept map strategy and describe the obstacles faced by students, as well as solutions, as well as describe student perceptions. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with case studies, which focus on learning at Malang State Universities and Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang, Indonesia. Data are collected by observation, interviews and documentation. As for the data analysis method, the researcher used the model according to Miles and Huberman, the data analysis technique consisted of data collection, condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are students' perceptions in implementing the strategy are divided into two, the beginning of application (aspects of mastery of the material, duration of time, habituation of learning and technology) and after application (aspects of vocabulary, compulsion, facilitating learning and psychological). concept map strategy trains students to think critically and speak systematically and learn independently.

Abstract

Sri Lankan scholars have been interested in translating Arabic literature into local languages. Many Arabic books have been translated into Tamil by direct or adaptation translation. The translation process is not easy work and is more difficult when translating among different language families. It is a process with various linguistic, literary, and cultural difficulties, and the translator faces general and particular problems during literary texts. This study focused on the issues in translating the Arabic novel into the Tamil language and tried to provide some appropriate solutions. This research examined the translation methods in Dr. PM's famous Egyptian novel “Granada”. Irfan into Tamil. The methodology adopted is qualitative. The primary data was collected through personal interviews and original texts. Secondary data were obtained from related books, and scholarly works and data were analyzed. This research concluded that Dr. P.M. Irfan has followed in his translation several methods and translation strategies to solve problems that exist in translating the Arabic novel into the Tamil language. He avoided some Arabic words in translating into Tamil. He was concerned with translating what the Tamil reader needs to understand the story and its narrative course, taking the adaptation method, and avoiding direct translation. He brought proper nouns in Arabic sounds with an explanation of their meaning in the footnotes, and he left the purposes of the special verbs such as Al'afeal Alnaaqisa and Al'afeal Almuqaraba, which are not found in Tamil. Background knowledge of both languages is recommended to be a successful translator.

Abstract

Numerous studies have been conducted to ascertain the value of the Arabic language to various aspects of Islamic studies. Arabic, along with other tongues, can be used as a mode of communication to spread awareness about Syariah. The fact that the Holy Quran and Sunnah, which are considered essential texts in Islam, are written in Arabic is mostly to blame for this. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of the use of Arabic in Islamic Education on the maturation of individuals who graduated from an Arabic-language institution in Saudi Arabia to inculcate values in students. Participating in this research are students from the College of Science and Humanities at Sulail. They are pursuing degrees in either the Bachelor of Arabic language or the Bachelor of Islamic Studies programs. A survey was carried out to investigate whether or not there is a connection between students' levels of Arabic language competency and how they learn from the classes in which they are enrolled. The purpose of the survey is also to find out how students feel about the usefulness of courses in Arabic language use in Islamic studies and its positive impact on value enhancement. The vast majority of people who participated in the survey believe that learning Arabic and Islamic Studies is necessary for students' overall growth and development.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to follow these people who are interested in Arabic in Indonesia and want Arabic to be a second language in Indonesia, and so the updated comprehensive station to reach this purpose is the bases of the desired cultural renaissance on a factual scientific, and critical vision of local, regional and global levels, with the need to adjust to the age and other opinions. Especially the future of the Islamic world, such as Indonesia. The method used in this research was library research. The data were collected, quoted, adapted, and analyzed using a content analysis approach toward the representative and relevant literature before finally being discussed and concluded. The results expected from this research were; 1). Arabic is distinguished from other languages as it is not only a means of communication but also a soul and official language among Muslims. All the fundamental main reference books of Tauhid and Syariah, which refer to Al Qur’an and As-Sunnah, were written in Arabic, 2). Arabic has been a language of thought, and a global science in medieval, which in many ways has passed European movement and development were, with its sophisticated features, it managed to be the answer to every developmental need of humans, 3). The Arabian people's economic, social, and cultural modern roles have boldened the internationalization of the Arabic language, which has been one of the official languages in the UN, which has affected more interest in learning it.

Abstract

One of the branches of morphology is affixation. Affixation is a bound morpheme that is placed on the base morpheme. This article aims to describe: 1) the similarities in affixation in Arabic and Indonesian, 2) the differences in affixation in Arabic and Indonesian, and 3) the effect of affixation on the change of meaning. This research is a literature study using a qualitative approach with a contrastive analysis method, namely comparing by looking for similarities and differences between the two languages (Arabic and Indonesian) and also using constant analysis. The primary data in this study is the Qur'an, namely Surah Al-Mu'minun, and its translation, and secondary data are taken from books related to the research. The results showed similarities between Arabic and Indonesian affixation in Surah Al-Mu’minūn, namely the affixation with prefixes and suffixes, and there were two additional affixations in one word. The difference is that in Arabic, only affixation, while in Indonesian, affixation and pronouns. And the effects of the change of meaning in Arabic are in the form of gender (masculine and feminine) and the structure of numbers (singular, dual, and plural). In Indonesian, noun and adjective forms change to verbs. And for both (Arabic and Indonesian) change in active and passive forms of verbs and change in command words.
