Abstract

This study aims to develop critical-thinking-oriented chemistry teaching materials for the topics of material changes and mixture separation for students of the Building Engineering Program in vocational high schools. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using Borg & Gall’s model, involving material experts, language experts, practitioners, as well as teachers and students as trial participants. The developed teaching materials include contextual construction-related phenomena, analytical activities, discussions, and reflective tasks to stimulate students’ critical thinking skills. Validation results show that the materials are highly valid, with scores of 98.75% from material experts, 87.5% from language experts, and 87.95% from practitioners. Practicality tests reveal student responses at 77% (practical) and teacher responses at 88% (highly practical). These findings indicate that the critical-thinking-oriented chemistry teaching materials are relevant, feasible, and practical for learning in vocational schools, specifically in the Building Engineering Program. The materials enhance conceptual understanding and foster critical thinking skills through real-world construction contexts.

Abstract

The important role of the principal in improving the application of technology in the teaching and learning process amidst the rapid evolution of knowledge, technology, and information, especially in the digital age and the 4.0 revolution. The education system in Indonesia needs to continue to adapt and incorporate information and communication technology (ICT) into all aspects of education to improve accessibility, adaptability, and quality of education. The goal of education is not only to produce students who are academically intelligent, but also have high ethics, and are ready to face the challenges of the digital era. This study uses a literature review method, the data obtained are in the form of journals and books on relevant topics. The principal, as the manager and leader of the institution, is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, supervising, and controlling all educational processes in the school. The quality and success of a school are greatly influenced by the leadership of the principal. The principal needs to be an active digital leader, formulate comprehensive plans, and create a culture of innovation to integrate technology into the curriculum.

Abstract

Buku ajar yang digunakan masih bersifat umum dan belum mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai budaya lokal siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya pengembangan bahan ajar yang tidak hanya memenuhi aspek kelayakan namun juga mengandung nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar mengaduk-aduk kearifan lokal Kalimantan Barat dalam mata kuliah Konsep Dasar IPS dengan menggunakan model 4D, yang meliputi tahapan mendefinisikan, merancang, mengembangkan, dan menyebarkan. Tahap mendefinisikan mencakup pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dengan dosen dan penyebaran angket kepada mahasiswa serta dosen, yang menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang ada masih bersifat umum dan belum mencerminkan kearifan lokal. Pada tahap desain, dirancanglah bahan terbuka yang menarik dan interaktif serta melengkapi materi yang telah ada. Validasi bahan ajar dilakukan pada aspek desain, bahasa, dan pembelajaran dengan menunjukkan hasil yang sangat valid, dengan skor rata-rata masing-masing 4,5; 4,4; dan 4,6. Tahap pengembangan meliputi revisi produk berdasarkan masukan validator terhadap aspek desain, bahasa, dan pembelajaran sedangkan tahap disseminate dilakukan dengan mendistribusikan produk dalam perkuliahan kepada siswa. Bahan terbuka yang dihasilkan masih bersifat sederhana, sehingga disarankan untuk memperbanyak bahan dari segala sumber dan meningkatkan tampilan agar lebih menarik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan bahan ajar memuat kearifan lokal Kalimantan Barat layak untuk digunakan dalam perkuliahan Konsep Dasar IPS

Abstract

The urgency of this research lies in the importance of implementing deep learning as a strategy to improve the quality of education and shape 21st-century competencies. These competencies include character building, critical thinking skills, creativity, collaboration, communication, and civic awareness. The deep learning approach offers learning that focuses on conceptual understanding, the integration of theoretical and applied knowledge, and the application of concepts in real-world contexts. The Deep Learning method and its application in the creation of teaching modules enable teachers to integrate the principles of mindful, meaningful, and enjoyable learning. This research uses a literature review method by analyzing various relevant literature sources to explore the challenges and opportunities in implementing deep learning in elementary schools. The results show that despite obstacles in terms of teacher readiness and educational infrastructure, the implementation of deep learning can increase student engagement, strengthen material understanding, and encourage the formation of critical and creative thinking patterns. Furthermore, this approach can be supported through ongoing teacher training, the application of educational technology, and flexible and innovative policies. With collaboration between educators, educational institutions, and other stakeholders, deep learning can become a catalyst for a more adaptive and relevant educational transformation. Therefore, structured steps are needed to overcome existing obstacles and maximize the potential of in-depth learning to create competent graduates who are ready to face global competition

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain dan mengimplemetasikan Pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL) menggunakan Quizizz dan Canva untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas 5 SD Negeri Periuk 3, Kota Tangerang. Model ini disusun untuk mendorong terciptanya ekosistem pembelajaran yang dinamis, kreatif, dan interaktif. Hal ini dilakukan melalui penerapan penyelesaian masalah yang terkait dengan kehidupan sehari-hari serta mengaplikasikan aset digital yang menarik. Tahap penelitian ini diselenggarakan melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang terdiri dari lima tahap Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBL), yaitu: pemahaman terhadap masalah, pembentukan kelompok, penyelidikan, pengembangan produk digital, serta refleksi. Metode pengumpulan data mencakup observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi mengenai kegiatan siswa saat belajar IPAS. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa penerapan PBL yang dikombinasikan dengan Quizizz dan Canva mampu meningkatkan motivasi, kreativitas, serta keterlibatan aktif siswa. Siswa memperlihatkan antusiasme dalam menyampaikan pendapat dan mengalami peningkatan hasil yang signifikan. Kendala yang sangat umum dihadapi adalah perbedaan tingkat akses terhadap internet dan ketidakmerataan kemampuan digital siswa. Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning (PBL), Quizizz, Canva

Abstract

The cultural transformation within the scientific community has accelerated significantly with the rise of digital technologies that reshape communication patterns, collaboration models, and knowledge production processes. These changes not only influence the structure and values of scientific culture but also introduce new challenges to the continuity of humanism, particularly regarding ethics, empathy, and moral responsibility within academic environments. Amid these dynamics, the relationship between science, technology, and humanism has become increasingly complex, as technological advancement often enhances rational efficiency while potentially marginalizing essential humanistic dimensions. Scientific progress strongly impacts culture and humanity by shaping how individuals think, act, and perceive social realities. However, such positive contributions may become problematic when scientific development is not balanced with ethical reflection and awareness of humanistic values. Therefore, maintaining equilibrium between scientific rationality and humanistic principles is crucial for the scientific community in the digital era to ensure that knowledge advancement remains aligned with human dignity and cultural sustainability

Abstract

This study aims to examine the national and regional legal frameworks governing the protection of vulnerable groups in Indonesia, including persons with disabilities, children, and religious and ethnic minorities, while evaluating the effectiveness of their implementation in ensuring equal rights and social justice. The research employs a qualitative approach through a literature study, utilizing legal documents, academic literature, official reports, and scholarly publications related to the protection of vulnerable groups. The analysis reveals that Indonesia has established a strong legal foundation, including the 1945 Constitution, Law No. 8 of 2016 on Persons with Disabilities, Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection, and commitments to international instruments such as the CRPD and CRC. Nevertheless, policy implementation still faces significant challenges, including limited inter-agency coordination, resource constraints, social stigma, and low public awareness. This study emphasizes the need to strengthen institutional capacity, reform policies, promote public education, and enhance cross-sector collaboration to ensure inclusive and equitable protection for vulnerable groups, in line with the principles of Pancasila and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the economic, social, and cultural rights of migrant workers from a human rights perspective in 2025. Kupang City, located in East Nusa Tenggara Province, is one of the regions with a relatively high rate of overseas labor migration, particularly to Malaysia and the Middle East. Limited local employment opportunities, inadequate social security, and a strong migrant culture in the city are the key drivers of this migration. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using a literature review method. Data were collected by reviewing and evaluating relevant papers and literature sources. The findings indicate that the economic rights of migrant workers remain insufficiently protected due to inadequate employment contracts and weak oversight by labor agencies. In social and cultural aspects, many migrant workers experience social disruption, discrimination, and loss of cultural identity. Although the local government provides pre-departure training and counseling, its coverage remains limited and its effectiveness needs improvement. The study recommends strengthening human rights–based protection policies, establishing city-level service centers for migrant workers, and enhancing public understanding of legal frameworks.

Abstract

Fenomena migrasi global semakin meningkat seiring konflik bersenjata, krisis iklim, dan ketimpangan ekonomi. Data IOM (2023) menunjukkan terdapat lebih dari 281 juta migran internasional, termasuk 36,4 juta pengungsi. Kondisi ini menimbulkan tantangan serius terhadap pemenuhan hak asasi manusia (HAM), khususnya bagi pengungsi dan pekerja migran. Artikel ini membahas keterkaitan antara krisis pengungsi dan perlindungan pekerja migran dengan menekankan pada instrumen hukum internasional, realitas di lapangan, serta strategi perlindungan. Dengan metode kajian literatur, artikel ini menemukan adanya kesenjangan antara norma HAM internasional dan implementasi di tingkat negara. Diperlukan penguatan instrumen hukum, solidaritas global, serta peran negara asal, negara tujuan, dan masyarakat sipil untuk mewujudkan perlindungan komprehensif bagi migran dan pengungsi.

Abstract

The implementation of mathematics learning in Grade III primary school still faces various obstacles, such as students’ difficulty in understanding basic mathematical concepts, low motivation to learn, and lack of skills in solving word problems. These problems are usually caused by a teacher-centered learning approach that tends to focus on memorization. This study aims to explore the problems that arise in the process of teaching mathematics in third grade elementary school and proposes a Project Based Learning (PJBL) model as a creative solution to increase student participation and understanding. The research method applies a descriptive qualitative approach with data analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman, which include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the implementation of PJBL result in a more relevant, meaningful, and exciting learning experience for student. Through projects, students actively participate in solving real-word problems related to mathematical concepts, such as pattern calculations, fraction, and creating simple models using concrete objects around the school area. This innovation not only deepens conceptual understanding but also encourages the development of critical thingking, collaboration, creativity, and student confidence. In addition, PJBL is in line with the principle of the Merdeka Curriculum, which makes students active subjects in the learning process and teachers facilitators. Overall, the study shows that the PJBL model is effective in mathematics learning in primary schools to increase motivation, conceptual understanding, and the quality of student learning outcomes.
