Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

This study explores student self-presentation on Instagram, focusing on the use of public and private accounts within the context of digital sociality. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, and observations of seven students. Michikyan’s Self-Presentation theory and Miller’s concept of Scalable Sociality were used as analytical frameworks to examine how students balance the True Self, Ideal Self, and False Self by scaling their interactions from intimate audiences to public ones. The findings reveal that public accounts are utilized to project the Ideal Self through aspirational content, whereas private accounts serve as spaces for the authentic expression of the True Self. In the context of Muslim students, Islamic ethics, based on the Hadith concerning the responsibility of leadership (Sahih Bukhari: 2278) and Surah As-Saff [61]: 2–3, influence content choices aimed at maintaining moral integrity. This research introduces the concept of the Hybrid Self, which reflects an integration of authenticity and aspiration, and highlights Instagram’s role as a reflective tool. The study contributes to the understanding of digital sociality and offers recommendations for digital literacy within educational institutions.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) approach in teaching reading comprehension skills to junior high school students. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The participants consisted of two classes, an experimental class taught using the TPACK approach and a control class taught through conventional methods, each comprising 30 students. The research instrument was a reading comprehension test administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the treatment. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics through a t-test at a 0.05 significance level. The findings indicated a significant improvement in the reading comprehension skills of the experimental group, with an average posttest score of 83.47 compared to 74.20 for the control group. The obtained t-value of 5.281 exceeded the t-table value of 2.000, confirming that the TPACK approach positively influences students’ reading comprehension ability. In addition to cognitive enhancement, TPACK-based learning also fostered higher motivation and active participation among students during the learning process. Therefore, the TPACK approach can serve as an innovative alternative in Indonesian language instruction to improve students’ reading comprehension skills at the junior high school level.

This study aims to determine and test the effectiveness of optimizing classroom organization as a strategy to enhance self-discipline in sixth-grade students at SDN Jatisari Sindangbarang, Cianjur Regency. Self-discipline is a fundamental aspect of academic success and character development, yet it often poses a challenge in the learning environment. The main objective of this research is to describe the process and outcomes of optimizing classroom organization, which includes physical arrangement, time management, and the development of participatory class rules, and to analyze the extent to which this strategy can improve the self-discipline levels of the sixth-grade students. This study utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study. The research subjects are the sixth-grade students of SDN Jatisari Sindangbarang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, field notes, and questionnaires measuring the level of self-discipline before and after the intervention. Optimal classroom organization was implemented through several improvement cycles, including the restructuring of the layout, visualization of schedules and tasks, and the habituation of consistent daily routines. The results indicate a significant increase in students' self-discipline levels after the optimization of classroom organization. This improvement is evident in the reduction of disciplinary behaviors, increased adherence to class rules, timely submission of assignments, and the students' ability to manage their study time and responsibilities independently. A structured learning environment and clear rules provide a sense of security and predictability, which directly supports the internalization of self-discipline. It is concluded that the optimization of classroom organization is proven to be an effective strategic intervention for enhancing the self-discipline of sixth-grade students at SDN Jatisari Sindangbarang. The implications of this research suggest the importance of the teacher's role as a proactive class manager in creating a conducive and structured learning environment to support the development of positive student character.

The advancement of digital technology has triggered significant transformations in the realization and protection of human rights (HR), particularly regarding the right to privacy and personal data security. This article aims to analyze violations of the right to privacy in the case of the PeduliLindungi data breach from a human rights perspective in the digital era. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method using a literature review approach, examining academic literature, national legal policies, and reports from human rights and cybersecurity institutions related to data protection. The findings reveal that weak digital security systems and low ethical awareness in data usage create serious vulnerabilities to violations of citizens’ privacy rights. The PeduliLindungi data leak reflects the fragility of legal protection for personal data despite the enactment of Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection. Additionally, the analysis highlights a dilemma between the state’s need to maintain public security and its obligation to guarantee the right to individual privacy as stipulated in Article 12 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 28G of the 1945 Constitution. In the context of digital ethics, the misuse of data and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms without transparent oversight also poses risks to the principles of justice and non-discrimination. Therefore, this article emphasizes the importance of implementing a human rights by design principle, strengthening public digital literacy, and synergizing legal regulations with AI ethics to safeguard human rights in digital spaces. This study contributes to enhancing digital legal literacy and the development of human rights-based policy designs for national data governance.

This study aims to analyze the philosophical foundations of transformational leadership in educational institutions through the lenses of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. Using a literature review and content analysis approach, the research examines works related to leadership theory, educational philosophy, and organizational management. The findings reveal that transformational leadership is grounded in an ontological understanding of humans as agents of change who shape organizational dynamics. Epistemologically, knowledge in this leadership model is constructed through reflection, collaboration, and dialogical processes. Axiologically, values such as integrity, justice, and participatory ethics serve as the moral foundation for leadership actions. These findings affirm that transformational leadership represents a philosophical framework highly relevant to addressing 21st-century educational challenges and fostering sustainable transformation within educational culture and practice.

This study aims to develop a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based assessment instrument using the Wordwall platform for fourth-grade elementary school science. The background of this study is based on the need for assessment innovation in the digital era because teachers still often use conventional instruments that only measure memory and comprehension abilities. The study uses a 4D development model that includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, expert validation, and student test results. The validation results from material experts, evaluation experts, and language experts show that the instrument obtained an average feasibility of 93.13%, categorized as very feasible. Field trials on 15 students resulted in an average score of 75.53, indicating that the instrument is effective for measuring students' higher-order thinking skills. The Wordwall-based digital instrument is also considered capable of increasing student engagement through interactive and engaging displays. Thus, the developed HOTS-based assessment instrument is declared valid and effective for use in science learning. Further research is recommended to involve a larger sample, add a variety of question formats, and conduct empirical validity and reliability analyses to improve the quality of the instrument.

Islamic educational administration plays a crucial role in supporting the effectiveness of school management, particularly in organizing various educational activities so that they are more focused and aligned with objectives. This study aims to explain how Islamic educational administration contributes to improving the quality of school management through systematic planning, curriculum management, academic supervision, and more organized data documentation. This study used a qualitative approach with library research methods, analyzing relevant books, journals, and scientific literature to explore the concept of Islamic educational administration and its implementation in school management. The results indicate that strong administration helps schools develop effective work programs, facilitates coordination between teachers and principals, and supports ongoing academic supervision. Furthermore, administration based on Islamic values strengthens the character of educational institutions through honest, trustworthy, transparent, and responsible management. With structured and professional administration, school management can be more efficient, on-target, and improve collective learning as a whole.

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) Terpadu kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 1 Kabila. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain ex post facto. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 99 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket tertutup, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan regresi linear sederhana dengan bantuan SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan PBL berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan koefisien regresi sebesar 0.820 dan nilai signifikansi p < 0.001. Koefisien determinasi (R² = 0.612) menunjukkan bahwa 61,2% variasi kemampuan berpikir kritis dijelaskan oleh penerapan PBL. Temuan ini mendukung teori konstruktivisme sosial Vygotsky dan model berpikir kritis Facione yang menekankan pentingnya kegiatan pemecahan masalah dan refleksi dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi empiris bagi guru IPS dalam mengoptimalkan pembelajaran berbasis masalah untuk meningkatkan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) siswa. Education plays a crucial role in developing creativity and independence in elementary school students and encompasses critical thinking, innovation, and responsibility in the learning process. This study analyzes how project-based learning (PjBL) fosters creativity and independence in elementary school students. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative and is based on a literature review of various relevant sources from Google Scholar. The results show that PjBL is a student-centered learning model with six main phases: formulating key questions, planning projects, developing schedules, monitoring implementation, reviewing results, and conducting reflection and evaluation. This model has been proven to encourage student creativity through direct experience, group work, and problem-solving processes that stimulate divergent thinking and produce original ideas and products. Furthermore, PjBL strengthens student learning independence through planning, decision-making, and responsibility for learning outcomes. Analysis of various studies shows that PjBL not only improves conceptual understanding but also develops 21st-century skills such as collaboration, communication, and innovation. Thus, the implementation of the PjBL model effectively contributes to producing creative and independent students who are ready to face future global challenges.

This study aims to examine the inferential reading comprehension skills of students based on university entrance pathways, namely the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), National Selection Based on Tests (SNBT), and the independent pathway. The study used a quantitative approach with a comparative design. Data were collected through an online questionnaire containing a profile form of the university entrance pathways and a multiple-choice test requiring inferential comprehension skills. Respondents were 492 students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program from four universities in South Sulawesi. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that in general, students' inferential reading comprehension skills were in the moderate category with a mean score of 9.47 (SD = 2.07; maximum score = 15). There were statistically significant differences between the three selection groups. Students from the SNBT pathway had the highest score (M = 9.71; SD = 1.98), students from the SNBP pathway (M = 9.68; SD = 2.06), and students from the independent pathway had the lowest score (M = 8.81; SD = 2.23). These findings imply the need for a systematically designed inferential reading literacy strengthening program.
