Abstract

Human rights are entitlements inherent to every individual since the moment they exist in the womb and must be respected by all parties. However, human rights violations against women and children remain a concerning issue in Indonesia, including in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara. Data from Komnas Perempuan and the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) in 2023 reported a total of 712 cases of violence against women and children in the region throughout 2022. This condition underscores the need for more effective advocacy approaches to ensure adequate protection for vulnerable groups. This study aims to analyze the role of community-based human rights advocacy and the dynamics of online activism in addressing violence against women and children in Kupang City. The research employs a literature review method with a descriptive qualitative approach by examining official documents, institutional reports, scholarly articles, and statistical data from credible sources such as Komnas Perempuan and SIMFONI PPA. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns of connection between community advocacy and digital movements. The findings indicate that community organizations, such as the Women’s Voice Studio Foundation (SSP), play a significant role in victim recovery and empowerment. Meanwhile, online activism through digital campaigns, such as #KupangLawanKekerasan, expands the reach of information dissemination and enhances public awareness. The integration of these two approaches produces a hybrid advocacy model that is more responsive, effective, and sustainable in promoting the rights of women and children at the local level.

Abstract

This article examines the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the development of human language as well as its contribution to understanding communication systems in animals. Advances in digital technology enable AI to influence the use and acquisition of human language while also opening new opportunities for analyzing animal vocalizations such as those of dolphins, birds, and primates. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method based on a literature review that analyzes various linguistic theories, AI-related research, and studies on animal communication. The findings indicate that AI accelerates linguistic changes in humans and simultaneously enhances scientific capability in mapping patterns of animal communication. However, AI also presents challenges, including the homogenization of language and the risk of misinterpreting animal communication. In conclusion, AI serves as a major agent of change that facilitates the evolution of human language and broadens our understanding of animal communication.

Abstract

The climate crisis and agrarian conflicts in Indonesia are deeply interconnected as dual threats to the fulfillment of human rights. Climate change worsens socio-ecological conditions in rural areas through environmental degradation, crop failures, and intensified natural disasters, while agrarian conflicts driven by industrial expansion and weak land rights protection marginalize indigenous peoples, farmers, and other vulnerable groups. This literature-based study reveals that the climate crisis amplifies inequalities in access to natural resources and increases the risk of human rights violations, highlighting the need for ecologically just and human rights–based policies to achieve sustainable development in Indonesia.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study discusses the right to education as part of Human Rights (HAM) from a constitutional perspective in Indonesia, and analyzes the ongoing violations of this fundamental right. Although the right to education is guaranteed in Article 31 of the 1945 Constitution and its derivative regulations, the reality reveals persistent inequality in access, discrimination, and weak implementation by state institutions. This research employs a normative-juridical method with constitutional and case-study approaches. The findings indicate that the fulfillment of the right to education remains ineffective due to unequal distribution of resources, lack of supervision, and weak integration of human rights education in the national curriculum. Human rights education needs to be strengthened as a preventive strategy to raise awareness of educational rights. Synergy between the government, human rights institutions, and civil society is essential to ensure that education is truly realized as a constitutional right. Keywords: Human Rights, Education, Constitution

Abstract

This study aims to explore the experiences of elementary school teachers in designing literacy assessments during the transition from Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to Elementary School (SD). The study used a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods. The research subjects consisted of one first-grade teacher and one principal at SD Negeri 55/I Sridadi. Data were collected through in-depth interview s and observations. The results showed that teachers understood literacy assessments not only as a tool to measure reading and writing skills, but also as a means to identify students' learning readiness during the transition. In designing the assessments, teachers attempted to adapt the instruments to the children's characteristics, use simple media, and integrate the assessments into play activities. The main obstacles faced were time constraints, differences in student abilities, and a lack of appropriate assessment guidelines. Nevertheless, teachers demonstrated high levels of creativity and reflection to ensure the assessments remained effective. This study has important implications for improving teachers' capacity in designing adaptive and sustainable literacy assessments in the early grades of elementary school.

Abstract

The enforcement of human rights (HAM) is a crucial component of the global legal system, ensuring justice for victims of human rights violations. International and national human rights courts differ in their strengths, weaknesses, and effectiveness. This study aims to compare the two mechanisms, using case studies of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and several national systems. The ICC has the authority to handle serious violations such as genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Its strengths lie in its independence and cross-border reach, but it is hampered by political support and limited resources. In contrast, national courts are more responsive to local conditions, but are often hampered by political interference, weak institutional capacity, and legal inconsistencies. This undermines public trust in national systems. The study concludes that collaboration between international and national courts is crucial for strengthening human rights enforcement. Strengthening coordination, legal harmonization, and enhancing the capacity of national institutions are necessary for the effective implementation of international decisions. Global political support is also a determining factor in increasing the effectiveness of human rights courts and providing justice for victims of violations.

Abstract

As times change, many students today are less familiar with the local wisdom of their respective cultures. Therefore, it is crucial in the world of education to support students' ability to understand their local wisdom by connecting it to what they learn in school. This is especially important for instilling an understanding of their region's local wisdom from a young age. Students' ability to understand learning concepts varies from one student to another. Factors contributing to learning difficulties include two types: internal factors such as motivation and lack of interest in learning, and external factors such as teaching methods and environment, which can hinder students from achieving maximum results. This study aims to analyze students' learning difficulties in understanding the material about cattle density in Indonesian language learning for fourth-grade students at SDN Proppo 1. This research uses data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. The subjects in this study are the fourth-grade homeroom teachers. The research outputs include a proposal, progress and final reports for MBKM, a logbook, a poster, and a draft scientific article.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of differentiated learning strategies in improving students’ learning motivation in Physical Education (PJOK) classes. The research was conducted in response to low student motivation, which was reflected in limited engagement, low enthusiasm, and insufficient persistence during learning activities. This study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest model involving 35 eleventh-grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Jenangan Ponorogo. A motivation questionnaire measuring interest, enthusiasm, persistence, and active engagement was used as the research instrument. Data were analyzed using the paired sample t-test after confirming normal distribution. The results showed an increase in the average motivation score from 48.06 (71.75%) in the pretest to 56.91 (75.88%) in the posttest. The paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest motivation scores. These findings demonstrate that differentiated learning strategies are effective in enhancing students’ learning motivation in PJOK lessons.
