Abstract

Vocabulary acquisition is a crucial aspect of English language learning, especially for seventh-grade students at SMPN 35 Surabaya. This study aims to examine the level of learning autonomy demonstrated by seventh-grade students in acquiring English vocabulary and to identify the autonomous vocabulary-learning strategies. The study used a mixed method with a descriptive quantitative-qualitative approach. Data were collected through a questionnaire consisting of Likert-scale and open-ended questions, completed by 52 seventh-grade students at SMPN 35 Surabaya. The data were analyzed descriptively to describe the level of autonomy based on the aspects of initiation, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as the comprehension acquisition strategies applied by students. The result showed that most students had a high level of autonomy, as evidenced by their ability to initiate learning, master comprehension, and assess learning outcome. Frequently used strategies included the use of learning applications, audiovisual media, social interaction, and individual techniques such as note-taking and memorization. These findings confirm that strengthening all three aspects of autonomy is crucial to support more effective and sustainable comprehension acquisition.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of physical education teachers in implementing a differentiated learning model in volleyball games at public elementary schools in Towuti District. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 98 students and 5 physical education teachers. Data were collected through observation, in which the researcher identified several similarities and explanations from informants, including teaching methods, the implementation of differentiated learning models, as well as inhibiting and supporting factors in the application of the model. Supporting and inhibiting factors were mainly related to school facilities. Teachers conducted individual assessments based on students’ abilities. Differentiated learning methods are important to be applied in all classes to identify students’ individual abilities and to facilitate teachers in assessing student performance. Most students showed high interest in volleyball, as reflected in their scores, with the majority achieving scores between 80 and 95. Many students demonstrated strong potential and talent in sports, particularly in volleyball.

Abstract

Low student learning motivation in economics subjects, particularly on payment systems and means of payment, remains a problem in senior high school learning. Therefore, digital learning media that can present material visually and interactively are needed. This study aims to analyze the effect of Canva-based learning media on students’ learning motivation and to provide empirical evidence regarding the integration of creative digital platforms in economics learning. This research employed a quantitative approach with an exploratory research design. The research sample consisted of 61 students who participated in learning activities using Canva-based media. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity using Product Moment correlation and for reliability using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. Data analysis was conducted through classical assumption tests and simple linear regression analysis. The results show that Canva-based learning media have a positive and significant effect on students’ learning motivation. The correlation value R = 0.802 indicates a very strong relationship, while the coefficient of determination R² = 0.643 shows that 64.3% of the variance in learning motivation is explained by the use of Canva media. The regression coefficient β = 0.752; sig. 0.000 confirms increased student motivation, while 35.7% is influenced by factors outside Canva media.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the need for developing a Heyzine-assisted digital flipbook teaching material on the topic of plane figures to enhance the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in elementary school. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that learning is still dominated by the lecture method, learning resources are less varied, and students require more interactive visualization to comprehend concepts in learning. Teachers and students need digital teaching materials that are engaging, easily accessible, and compliant with the Merdeka Curriculum. The Heyzine-assisted digital flipbook is deemed appropriate because it can present text, images, and videos interactively, thereby increasing understanding and learning motivation, accompanied by an improvement in learning outcomes. Therefore, the development of a digital flipbook is highly necessary as a solution for more effective and relevant mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study focuses on assessing the extent to which ladder drill training can affect dribbling speed at SDN Ngaglik 01 Batu City. The study design uses quantitative research with an experimental (pre-experimental) approach, namely through the concept of the one group pretest-posttest design. The main subjects through this research involved members of the SDN Ngaglik 01 Batu futsal team, extracurricular students in grades IV to VI. A sample of 30 was taken using a training method with a flat ladder. The strategy for obtaining data utilizes a testing method, with the measurement of dribbling speed in this study using a test developed by Mielke (2007). By processing the data through normal distribution testing, variance equality testing, and paired sample T-test. The output of this study can be observed that the average value recorded in the posttest (13.63) has increased compared to the pretest (14.76), and can also be seen from the p-value in the paired t-test showing a value of 0.000 which means the results of this study have a significant influence. Based on these findings, it shows that dribbling speed training with ladder drills has a big influence on increasing the dribbling speed of futsal players at SDN Ngaglik 01 Batu City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of ecosystem teaching aids on improving the scientific literacy of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Inpres Bertingkat Waena. Scientific literacy is an important skill that every student must have in order to understand scientific concepts and use them to solve problems in everyday life. One effort that can be done to improve scientific literacy is by using contextual and meaningful learning resources such as ecosystem teaching aids. This quantitative study used a pre-experimental design with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design pattern. The research sample was carried out in Class V A of SD Negeri Inpres Bertingkat Waena with a total of 30 students. The research instrument was a scientific literacy test in the form of multiple-choice questions implemented before (pretest) and after (posttest) treatment using ecosystem teaching aids. The results of data analysis showed an increase in students' scientific literacy scores after the application of ecosystem teaching aids. This increase was measured using N-Gain (Normalized Gain). The average N-gain value was 0.62, so it was included in the moderate category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of ecosystem teaching aids has proven effective in improving the scientific literacy of Class V A students at Waena State Elementary School.

Abstract

The background of this research is the importance of maintaining social harmony amidst the challenges of globalization and modernization, which have the potential to shift traditional values and societal morals. The primary focus of this study is the integration of Islamic educational values into the Jambi Malay civilization system based on the principle of "Adat Basendi Syara’, Syara’ Basendi Kitabullah" (ABSSBK). The research aims to identify the Jambi Malay civilization system within the ABSSBK framework, explain the forms of Islamic educational value integration within it, and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors of this integration process in Jambi City.The methodology employed is a qualitative approach with field research conducted at the Jambi City Malay Customary Institution (Lembaga Adat Melayu - LAM). Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews with customary leaders, and documentation. The data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative method to provide a comprehensive overview of the phenomenon under study. The results indicate that the integration of Islamic educational values in Jambi Malay civilization is implemented through the alignment of customary practices with Islamic Sharia. Values such as honesty (ṣidq), trustworthiness (amanah), deliberation (shūrā), and justice are practically reflected in marriage ceremonies, customary deliberations, and dispute resolution mechanisms. The role of LAM Jambi City is crucial as the guardian and educator of these values to ensure they remain relevant amidst modernization. Supporting factors for this integration include high religious awareness among the community and support from regional policies. However, the study also identified several obstacles, namely the influence of global lifestyles on the younger generation, uneven understanding of the ABSSBK philosophy within the community, and the lack of reinforcement of customary values in the formal education curriculum. This research concludes that the Jambi Malay civilization system serves as an effective medium for instilling noble character and religious identity as long as the principles of Sharia remain its fundamental basis.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of implementing a Canva-based learning tool on students' understanding of Management Concepts. The research stemmed from the problem of low student understanding, caused by traditional teaching methods that lack diversity and underutilize visual elements. This study employed a quantitative method through an explanatory research approach. The sample size reached 50 students, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection tool was a Likert-scale questionnaire, which was verified for its validity and reliability. Data analysis involved checking for validity, reliability, normality, linearity, and simple linear regression. The main findings showed that the use of Canva had a positive and significant impact on student understanding. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.668 indicated that Canva contributed approximately 66.8% to the increase in understanding, with the remainder influenced by other factors. These results reinforce the idea that Canva can help students digest abstract management concepts through more engaging, organized, and easily digestible visualizations. Ultimately, this study recommends that Canva be used as an alternative teaching medium in courses requiring conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This study was initiated by the low learning interest of fifth-grade students at SDN Sengon Jombang in the Ecosystem Balance topic, which was largely caused by monotonous instruction that depended on lecturing and conventional media. As a result, students found it challenging to understand abstract concepts such as biotic–abiotic interactions. To address this issue, the study aimed to: (1) examine the feasibility of an Augmented Reality (AR)-based Ecosystem Diorama media product through evaluations from material experts, media experts, and teachers; (2) identify students’ responses to the developed media; and (3) determine the extent to which students’ learning interest improved after using the media. The research applied the Research and Development (R&D) approach by adapting the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The developed product combined a physical 3D Ecosystem Diorama with an AR-supported book, enabling interactive 3D animations to appear when scanned. The trial was conducted with fifth-grade students at SDN Sengon Jombang. The findings showed that the AR-based Ecosystem Diorama was rated “very feasible” based on expert validation and received highly positive responses from students. In general, the media effectively provided more concrete and interactive learning experiences, which in turn succeeded in increasing fifth-grade students’ learning interest in the Ecosystem Balance material at SDN Sengon Jombang.

Abstract

This study aims to describe in depth the principal's role in resource management and analyze the relationship between resource management and improving educational quality at SDN 3 Kudi. Optimizing resources, including human resources, school facilities, and budgets, is a key factor in supporting the achievement of educational goals. The principal plays a central role as a manager, leader, and prime mover in maximizing the potential of these resources. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the principal plays a role in effectively managing resources, building collaboration between stakeholders, and creating a school climate conducive to learning. Optimal resource management has been shown to significantly improve educational quality, as reflected in student academic achievement, teacher professionalism, and the effectiveness of school programs. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening the principal's leadership capacity in addressing the challenges of educational quality in the modern era.
