Abstract

This study aims to develop an Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)-based Puzzle Card learning media to enhance elementary students’ creative thinking skills in the topic of plane figures. The research employed the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects were third-grade students at SDN Pengasinan IX, divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through creative thinking tests, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The findings indicate that the ESD-based Puzzle Card media effectively improved students’ creative thinking skills, demonstrated by the N-Gain analysis, which shows a higher increase in the experimental group compared to the control group. The implementation of this media made learning more interactive and engaging while integrating sustainability values in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum. This study concludes that ESD-based Puzzle Cards are feasible, practical, and effective to be used as innovative learning media in mathematics, particularly in developing creative thinking skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low level of number concept knowledge among children aged 4-5 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the smart tree media on number concept understanding in children aged 4-5 years.This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental (pre-experimental) method through a single-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 16 children in Group A at Muthih Kindergarten, Kayuagung, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through structured observations using checklists and worksheets (LKPD) compiled based on indicators of number concept understanding. Data analysis included validity and reliability tests, a chi-square normality test, and a t-test hypothesis test. The results of the normality test indicated a normal distribution (x² calculated ≤ x² table). The hypothesis decision-making process was based on a t-test analysis; if t² calculated ≥ t², then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it is concluded that t count ≥ t table (4.38 ≥ 1.75) so it can be said that Ho count is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, the use of smart trees can be concluded that there is a significant influence of Smart Tree Media on the ability to recognize number concepts in children aged 4-5 years at TK Muthiah Islamic School Kayuagung.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability to recognize number concepts in children aged 4–5 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the number matching board game on children's number recognition abilities. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method (pre-experimental) through a one group pretest–posttest design. The research sample consisted of 16 children in group A at Kindergarten Negeri Pembina Kayuagung who were selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through structured observation using checklist sheets, smartboards, and LKPD arranged based on number recognition indicators. Data analysis included validity and reliability tests, Chi-Square normality tests, and hypothesis tests using t-tests. The results of the normality test showed that the data were normally distributed (x² count ≤ x² table). The hypothesis test showed that tcount (3.53) ≥ ttable (1.75) so that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. These results prove that the number matching board game has an effect on children's number recognition abilities. Game-based learning media has been proven effective in stimulating the cognitive development of early childhood, especially in the aspect of early numeracy.

Abstract

Academic supervision is one of the main competencies of school principals that plays an important role in improving teacher performance. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and follow-up of academic supervision by school principals and its impact on improving teacher performance at SDN Kedung Cowek 1 and SDS Al Ikhlas Surabaya. This study used a qualitative approach with a multi-site study type. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The research subjects consisted of principals and teachers at both schools. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that academic supervision that was planned systematically, implemented collaboratively, and followed up through continuous guidance was able to improve teacher performance, particularly in the aspects of lesson planning, lesson implementation, and learning outcome evaluation. Effective academic supervision made teachers more professional, reflective, and innovative in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of limited access to technology and the level of students' interest in learning Civics Education (PPKn) in Elementary School. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey method. The research subjects were 49 fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Guttman scale questionnaire validated through expert judgment. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics by calculating the mean and achievement percentage. The results showed that the level of limited technology access was in the "High" category with an achievement percentage of 76.33%. Meanwhile, the level of students' learning interest in PPKn was in the "Low" category with an achievement percentage of 76.94%. The conclusion indicates that significant limitations in technology access are in line with low student interest in PPKn learning. This study recommends the need to develop creative learning strategies that do not fully depend on technology and to improve digital infrastructure in elementary schools.

Abstract

Vocational learning in vocational high schools (SMK) needs to develop 21st-century skills, particularly critical thinking and collaboration skills. However, practical learning is still often teacher-oriented, so student active involvement is not yet optimal. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is a learning approach that emphasizes student involvement through the completion of real projects. This study aims to analyze the effect of PjBL on students' critical thinking and collaboration skills in lathe machining practical learning at SMK Negeri 1 Cilegon. This study uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. The research sample consisted of 72 students from the Machining Engineering program, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a closed questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using simple linear regression with the help of IBM SPSS. The results showed that Project-Based Learning had a positive and significant effect on critical thinking skills with a contribution of 16% and on collaboration skills with a contribution of 27.9%. These findings confirm that PjBL is effective in improving critical thinking and collaboration skills among vocational high school students, especially in practical learning. This study provides empirical contributions to the development of vocational learning oriented towards work readiness and 21st-century skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by concerns in preparing competent workers according to the expectations of the business and industrial world (DUDI), SMK needs to make new breakthroughs, one of which is with the Teaching Factory learning program so that students are more skilled, independent, competitive and entrepreneurial. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the Teaching Factory Learning Management in Cultivating Students' Entrepreneurial Spirit. The Grand Theory used is the POAC management function, namely Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling (G.R Terry). The research method used is a case study through a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of this study reveal that: This study shows that the Teaching Factory (TEFA) program in SMK is effective in fostering students' entrepreneurial spirit through the application of the POAC management function. Industry-based curriculum planning, organizing tasks between schools and industrial partners, implementing real production by students, and periodic evaluations have been carried out well. Although there are obstacles such as limited facilities and budget, solutions such as increasing cooperation with industry and adjusting the curriculum have been identified. Principal leadership that supports innovation and collaboration plays an important role in the successful implementation of TEFA, reflecting the entrepreneurial attitude of students who dare to take risks, are creative, and competitive. Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential competencies that must be possessed by senior high school students in the 21st century, as students are required to think deeply, reflectively, and logically. Therefore, the development of students critical thinking skills also requires strong instructional competence from teachers. This study aims to examine the relationship between teachers TPACK and students critical thinking skills in geography learning. This study employed a quantitative method with a correlational design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, involving students from classes XI F 6 and XI F 11 as the research samples. Teachers TPACK was measured using a questionnaire based on TPACK indicators proposed by Mishra, Koehler, Schmid, Chai, Koh, and Tsai, which include ( Content Knowledge, Pedagogical Knowledge, Technological Knowledge, Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Technological Content Knowledge, Technological Pedagogical Knowledge, and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge ). Students critical thinking skills were measured using an objective test based on critical thinking indicators proposed by Peter A. Facione, namely ( interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation )The data were analyzed using SPSS version 29 and descriptive analysis. The data analysis techniques included normality testing and hypothesis testing. The results of the statistical analysis using the Spearman correlation test with the assistance of SPSS version 29 showed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.050. These results indicate that there is a significant relationship between teachers’ TPACK and students’ critical thinking skills. The correlation coefficient value of 0.794 indicates a very strong relationship between TPACK and students’ critical thinking skills. Keywords: TPACK, Critical Thinking, Correlational Study

Abstract

This article examines the dialectic between Islam and Javanese culture through the perspective of Islamic educational sociology, focusing on the preaching practices of Sunan Kalijaga. Sunan Kalijaga's preaching displayed a unique dialectical strategy, namely integrating Islamic values into local Javanese traditions without causing cultural resistance. Through art forms such as wayang kulit (leather puppet theater), gamelan (traditional orchestra), and Javanese songs, Sunan Kalijaga successfully turned da'wah into a process of social education that instilled religious values while strengthening the cultural identity of the community. An analysis of Islamic educational sociology shows that this culture-based da'wah serves as a means of socializing values, forming collective identity, and providing effective non-formal education in shaping the religious behavior of Javanese society. The dialectic between Islam and Javanese culture offered by Sunan Kalijaga has given rise to a model of Islamic education that is contextual, inclusive, and multicultural, relevant to facing the challenges of modernization and globalization of Islamic education in the contemporary era.

Abstract

Early reading difficulties experienced by elementary school students can hinder their active participation in learning. This study aims to analyze the role of parents in supporting early reading skills among first-grade students at SDN Nongkosawit 01 in an urban context, as well as to identify factors that support and hinder this process. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that parental roles as educators and facilitators at home, particularly in urban areas, have not been optimally fulfilled. This is largely influenced by common urban constraints, including parents’ limited time due to work demands, inadequate understanding of effective learning strategies, and the absence of a literacy-rich home environment. The study underscores the need to strengthen parental involvement in urban settings through socialization, mentoring, and practical strategies to support the holistic development of students’ early reading skills.
