Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Scientific Writing (Karya Tulis Ilmiah/KTI) program at SDIT At-Taubah Batam and its contribution to enhancing critical thinking skills of upper-grade students. Using a qualitative case study approach with data triangulation from observation, interviews, and document analysis, the study found that KTI is implemented in stages: orientation, topic selection, problem formulation, data collection and analysis, report writing, and presentation. Each stage fosters interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation skills. The program improves both cognitive and affective aspects, including independent learning, curiosity, and scientific attitude, demonstrating KTI as an effective project-based learning strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the RADEC learning model in improving the critical thinking skills fifth-grade elementary school students in Indonesian language learning. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research population consisted of all 38 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Yukum Jaya, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using pretest and posttest. Data analysis involved simple linear regression and t-tests, which met the prerequisite tests, including normality and homogeneity. The results pf the simple linear regression analysis showed a significance value of 0.002 < 0.05, while the t-test showed a significance value of 0.044 < 0.05. Therefore, it was conclude that the implementation of the RADEC learning model was proven to be effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Children with physical disabilities often face mobility challenges and self-confidence issues that negatively impact their learning interest. This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing independence strategies on enhancing the learning interest of children with physical disabilities. The study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest pre-experimental design. The participants consisted of 15 elementary school students in an inclusive education setting. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations, then analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase in students' learning interest following the intervention. These findings indicate that independence strategies have a positive influence on students' motivation, self-confidence, and engagement in learning. Therefore, independence strategies are recommended as an effective approach to support inclusive education practices for students with physical disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of teacher discipline, the leadership strategies of the madrasah principal, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving teacher discipline at MTs Madinah Al-Munawwarah Tomoni, East Luwu Regency. This research employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects consisted of the madrasah principal and teachers of MTs Madinah Al-Munawwarah, totaling eight informants. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, while data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The results of the study indicate that teacher discipline at MTs Madinah Al-Munawwarah is generally in a fairly good category, as reflected in attendance, punctuality, teaching preparedness, and compliance with madrasah regulations, although a small number of teachers are still inconsistent. The leadership strategies implemented by the madrasah principal to improve teacher discipline include routine coaching, habituation of punctuality, exemplary leadership, persuasive communication, strengthening regulations and monitoring, and providing appreciation for disciplined teachers. Supporting factors in improving teacher discipline include teachers’ awareness of professional responsibility, the exemplary attitude of the madrasah principal, and the provision of honoraria or incentives. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include teachers having other jobs outside the madrasah, a lack of discipline awareness among some teachers, the absence of firm written regulations, and the non-optimal implementation of reward and punishment systems.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model in improving learning outcomes in Social Studies in grade XI. The Jigsaw model focuses on group learning. In the Jigsaw learning model, there are home groups and expert groups. The home group is a combination of several expert groups. This model is one of the approach strategies that is widely used. to improve the quality of classroom learning and encourage students to work together and provide more active opportunities in the learning process. This is implemented as an alternative to conventional teacher-centered learning and less active student involvement. The research approach uses a quantitative quasi-experimental sample of 70 social studies students of class XI MAN 1 Samarinda divided into experimental and control classes. Data were collected through pretests and posttests as well as questionnaires to determine student learning outcomes. This analysis uses the t-test to calculate differences in student learning outcomes before and after the use of the Jigsaw method and to compare learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes. The results showed that there were differences in social studies learning outcomes between students taught the Jigsaw learning model and conventional learning. The calculated t-value = 4.28 with df = 4 and p-value <0.05 (significant). There is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. There is a statistically significant difference between the scores before and after treatment. The average score increased by 8 points after treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the quality of facilities and infrastructure management on improving learning performance in elementary schools. Educational facilities and infrastructure play an essential role in supporting effective and meaningful learning processes. However, many schools still face limitations in management, utilization, and maintenance of learning facilities. This research used a quantitative approach with a survey method. The subjects of the study were elementary school teachers selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the quality of facilities and infrastructure management has a significant positive effect on learning performance. Schools with well-planned, organized, and maintained facilities tend to have more effective learning processes, higher student engagement, and better learning outcomes. These findings indicate that improving management systems, supervision, and maintenance of educational facilities is an important strategy to enhance the quality of learning in elementary schools. Abstract

This study explores the contribution of Qur’anic and Hadith-based ecotheology as an ethical framework in responding to the global environmental crisis, focusing on the case study of the 2025 flood disaster in Sumatra. Employing a qualitative approach with hermeneutic methods for religious texts and case study analysis, the research examines key concepts such as mizan (balance of nature), khalifah fil-ardh (human responsibility as stewards of the earth), the prohibition of israf (wastefulness), and Hadith teachings on tree planting and water conservation as ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah). Findings reveal that verses such as QS. Ar-Rum: 41 and QS. Al-A’raf: 56-58 portray environmental degradation as a consequence of human actions, while Prophetic Hadiths provide practical encouragement for ecosystem restoration. In the Sumatra flood case, triggered by deforestation, urbanization, and climate change, the disaster is interpreted as a manifestation of fasad fil-ardh, resulting in thousands of casualties and economic losses in the trillions of rupiah. Islamic ecotheology offers a holistic, spiritually grounded solution for mitigation and prevention, including reforestation campaigns and environmental education within Muslim communities. This research contributes theoretically to the development of Islamic ecotheology and provides practical recommendations for faith-based environmental policies in Indonesia to enhance resilience against the global climate crisis.

Abstract

Student learning quality is an important indicator of the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process in schools. However, in junior high school contexts, student learning quality is influenced by various factors, one of which is teachers’ teaching styles. This study aims to examine the relationship between teachers’ teaching styles and student learning quality among seventh-grade students at SMP Babussalam Montong Sari in the 2021/2022 academic year. This study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational research design. The research subjects consisted of 21 seventh-grade students selected through a total sampling technique. Data on teachers’ teaching styles were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire, while data on student learning quality were obtained from documented academic achievement scores. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability prior to data collection. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson product–moment correlation and a t-test at a 5% significance level. The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between teachers’ teaching styles and student learning quality, with a correlation coefficient of 0.653, indicating a moderate to strong relationship. The t-test results showed a t-value of 3.72, which was higher than the critical value of 2.86. These findings indicate that better variation in teachers’ teaching styles is associated with higher student learning quality. This study concludes that teachers’ teaching styles play an important role in improving student learning quality, although they are not the sole determining factor.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy on interpersonal communication among first-year students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Universitas Jambi. This research employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto method. The population consisted of 109 first-year students, with a sample of 86 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The self-efficacy instrument consisted of 17 items with a reliability coefficient of 0.737, while the interpersonal communication instrument consisted of 25 items with a reliability coefficient of 0.732. Data analysis techniques included descriptive analysis, normality test, linearity test, and simple regression analysis. The results showed that the level of students’ self-efficacy was in the high category (81.04%), while interpersonal communication was in the moderate category (67.15%). The simple regression analysis indicated a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), which means that self-efficacy has a significant effect on interpersonal communication among first-year students.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the low level of student activity, communication skills, collaboration, and learning outcomes due to limited engagement and poor ability to express ideas. To address this, the CERMAT learning model was implemented. The study aimed to examine improvements in teacher and student activity, communication skills, collaboration, and learning outcomes. A qualitative approach was used with Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted over four meetings involving 21 fifth-grade students at SDN Teluk Dalam 1 Banjarmasin in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected through observation and written tests. The results showed significant improvement in all aspects: teacher activity increased from a score of 26 to 34, student activity from 34% to 97%, communication from 52% to 95%, collaboration from 57% to 100%, and student learning outcomes improved classically.
