Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of dependence on Artificial Intelligence (AI) on students' academic independence. The rapid development of AI technology in the era of digital transformation has significantly influenced learning behavior in higher education. While AI provides efficiency and accessibility in academic activities, excessive use may lead to dependency, potentially reducing students’ critical thinking and self-regulated learning abilities. This study employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto correlational design. The sample consisted of 33 students from the Faculty of Education, Universitas Negeri Medan. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The findings reveal a significant negative relationship between AI dependency and academic independence. The higher the level of dependency on AI, the lower the students' ability to regulate their learning independently. These findings emphasize the importance of balanced and responsible AI usage in academic contexts to maintain students’ autonomy and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Pocket Card learning media to increase reading interest in second-grade students of MIS Al-Bashirah in the Indonesian language subject of antonyms. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the stages of analysis, design, development, and validation. Validation subjects consisted of material experts, media experts, and second-grade teachers of MIS Al-Bashirah. The research instruments were expert validation questionnaires and teacher response questionnaires. The material expert validation results obtained a score of 64 out of 75 or 85.3% (very appropriate category), media expert validation obtained a score of 67 out of 75 or 89.3% (very appropriate category), and teacher response obtained a score of 68 out of 75 or 90.6% (very appropriate category). Based on these results, it can be concluded that Pocket Card media is included in the very appropriate category for use as an Indonesian language learning medium for antonyms in second-grade elementary schools. This media is considered interesting, practical, and able to increase students' reading interest.

Abstract

Evaluating the quality of test instruments is an important step in ensuring the acceptability and accuracy of measuring student learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the quality of 50 multiple-choice questions in the Introduction to the Oil and Gas Industry course in terms of validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminatory power. The method used is quantitative item analysis with a descriptive and inferential statistical approach based on the results of validity tests, reliability using Cronbach's Alpha, difficulty level, and discriminatory power. The analysis results show that most of the items are valid. The reliability test obtained a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.88 which is included in the high category, indicating good internal consistency of the instrument. The level of difficulty of the questions is predominantly in the medium category, while the discriminatory power is mostly in the good category. However, several items were still found to be invalid and have low discriminatory power so that they need to be revised or removed. Overall, the test instrument in the Introduction to the Oil and Gas Industry course can be categorized as good quality and suitable for use with improvements to certain items.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of improving the quality of Islamic spiritual activities (Rohis) as a means of fostering students’ religious character in Madrasah Aliyah. However, in practice, Rohis activities still face several challenges, including low student interest, limited facilities, the influence of technological developments, and time constraints. This study aims to analyze the strategies used to improve the quality of Rohis activities and to identify the challenges encountered in their implementation. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving Rohis supervisors, administrators, and students. The data were analyzed through systematic processes of data reduction, categorization, and interpretation. The findings reveal that the improvement of Rohis activity quality is achieved through the development of varied and innovative programs, the application of interactive learning methods, and the utilization of digital media. In addition, the active role of supervisors and student administrators significantly contributes to the effectiveness of the activities. Rohis activities also show positive impacts on students, particularly in increasing participation, discipline in worship, and religious attitudes in daily life. Despite these achievements, several challenges remain, requiring continuous innovation and institutional support. Therefore, Rohis activities play a crucial role in shaping students’ religious character and need to be continuously developed in accordance with contemporary educational demands.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model in improving students’ learning outcomes and social skills. The primary issue addressed is the low level of active participation and academic achievement in the digestive system curriculum. Using a pre-experimental design with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design, this study involved 32 eighth-grade students from Class VIII-G at SMP Negeri 2 Krian as the subjects of observation. The social skills measured included cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, and friendliness. Data were collected to determine the extent to which the TGT model, integrated with the “shuffle and recall” game, could alter classroom dynamics and students’ cognitive achievements. The results of the analysis show that this model is significantly effective in improving learning outcomes, with N-Gain results indicating that 59% of students achieved the high category and 41% fell into the moderate category. Additionally, there was an improvement in students’ social skills, moving from the good category to the very good category. The entire instructional sequence was implemented optimally and received a very positive response from the students. Thus, this game-based TGT model has proven effective as a solution for enhancing both students’ academic competencies and social skills in the digestive system curriculum.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low concentration of elementary school students' learning, characterized by a lack of focus and easy distraction. This study aims to analyze the role of parents in building student learning concentration and identify factors that influence it at SDN Rengaspendawa 04. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The research subjects include parents and students. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis uses an interactive model with triangulation to test the validity of the data. The results show that the role of parents as motivators, guides, supervisors, and educators can improve students' focus, discipline, and learning resilience. Learning concentration is also influenced by internal and external factors, including physical conditions and the learning environment.

Abstract

Character education has become a strategic issue in elementary education amidst the challenges of globalization and technological developments, which have led to a decline in student discipline, responsibility, and cooperation. Scouting extracurricular activities are seen as an effective solution for shaping student character through direct experience and the instilling of positive values.This study aims to explore the role of Scouting extracurricular activities in student character development, particularly in the areas of discipline, responsibility, and cooperation at SDN 5/33 Mattoangin, Pangkep Regency, and to answer the question of how these activities contribute to student character development. This study employed a qualitative, descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were collected using purposive sampling of teachers, Scout leaders, and students.The results indicate that Scouting activities play a significant role in improving student discipline through the habit of following rules, increasing responsibility through completing tasks and maintaining equipment, and strengthening cooperation through group activities and mutual cooperation. These findings contribute to the understanding that character education is more effective through direct experience and instilling habits in real-life situations. The conclusion of this study confirms that the Scouting extracurricular activity is an effective tool in developing students' character. Therefore, it is recommended that schools improve the quality of Scouting activities. Further research can examine broader aspects of character and use different approaches to enrich the research findings.

Abstract

Improving morals, morals, and human character is obligation for human being, which aimed to achieve their life goals, such as realizing Insan kamil (perfect human). Moral is the main thing for humans, therefore the Prophet told his ummah to improve morals more and more. This study found that: morals means behavior, character, behavior or trait. According to alGhazali, moral is a trait that is embedded in the human soul which gives birth to easy human actions without need for thought or consideration. Taysir Al-Khallaq means a book that makes it easy for someone to carry out morals and understand the kinds of morals. So knowing the morals certainty must be implemented abandoned. Abstract

This article explores the concept of religious moderation as a fundamental principle in Islamic education within multicultural societies. As religious extremism and intolerance pose serious threats to social harmony, religious moderation emerges as an educational approach that promotes tolerance, justice, and balance (tawassuth, tasamuh, tawazun, and i'tidal). Through a literature review method, the study analyzes scholarly discussions, Islamic perspectives, and the role of educational institutions in instilling values of moderation. The findings show that religious moderation aligns with core Islamic teachings and is essential for building a peaceful society rooted in mutual respect and pluralism. Abstract

This study aims to, (1) describe the process of developing teaching materials for descriptive texts containing local wisdom using the Google Sites web, (2) describe the form of developing teaching materials for descriptive texts containing local wisdom of the Toba Batak using the Google Sites web, and (3) describe the feasibility of teaching materials for descriptive texts containing local wisdom of the Toba Batak using the Google Sites web. The development of teaching materials for descriptive texts containing local wisdom of the Toba Batak using the Google Sites web media uses the ADDIE model which is limited to only the analysis, design, and development stages. The validation stage involves lecturers who are material experts and lecturers who are media experts to assess the feasibility of the material and the feasibility of the media. The sample of this study was 28 students of class VII of Gajah Mada Private Middle School, Medan. Data collection techniques were by interviews and questionnaires. The research instrument was in the form of a validation questionnaire sheet for material experts and media experts using a Likert scale. Data analysis used quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that the product of the descriptive text teaching material containing local wisdom of the Toba Batak with the help of the Google Sites web obtained the criteria of "Very Good" with an average of 94.96%, with the results from material experts of 90.90% with the criteria of "Very Good" and the results from media experts of 96% with the criteria of "Very Good" and subject teachers of 98% with the criteria of "Very Good" so that the teaching material is suitable for use as supporting teaching material in the learning process.
