Abstract

The low understanding of multiplication concepts and student activeness in elementary mathematics learning remains a challenge that affects learning outcomes. This condition is caused by learning practices that tend to emphasize memorization and teacher-centered instruction, resulting in students having difficulty understanding multiplication concepts meaningfully. This study aimed to determine the effect of the cross line technique on students’ understanding of multiplication concepts and learning activeness in Grade III elementary school students. The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population consisted of 80 Grade III students of SD Negeri Luwungragi 01, Brebes Regency, in the 2025/2026 academic year. Sampling was conducted using saturated sampling, involving all students as research subjects. Class IIIA was assigned as the experimental group receiving instruction through the cross line technique, while Class IIIB served as the control group receiving conventional multiplication instruction. Data were collected through essay tests and student activeness questionnaires and analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent sample t-tests. The findings revealed that the mean posttest score of multiplication concept understanding in the experimental class was 79.6, higher than the control class score of 72.8. Furthermore, the mean activeness score in the experimental class was 86, while the control class obtained a score of 78. Hypothesis testing indicated a significance value of less than 0.05, demonstrating that the cross line technique significantly affects students’ understanding of multiplication concepts and learning activeness. Therefore, the cross line technique can be used as an effective alternative in elementary mathematics learning.

Abstract

The growth of the Shariah banking industry in Indonesia has not been matched by an optimal increase in market share; therefore, it is necessary to examine the factors influencing public intention to adopt Shariah banking. This study aims to analyze the effects of Islamic Financial Literacy (IFL), Trust, and Skepticism on the Behavioral Intention to Adopt Sharia Banking, with Perceived Shariah Compliance (PSC) serving as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with an explanatory design was employed. The sample consisted of 190 individuals of productive age who had never used Sharia banking services, selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The results indicate that Islamic Financial Literacy, Skepticism, and Perceived Shariah Compliance significantly influence Behavioral Intention, whereas Trust does not have a direct effect on Behavioral Intention. Additionally, Islamic Financial Literacy, Trust, and Skepticism significantly influence Perceived Shariah Compliance. Mediation analysis reveals that Perceived Shariah Compliance partially mediates the relationships of Islamic Financial Literacy and Skepticism with Behavioral Intention, while fully mediating the relationship between Trust and Behavioral Intention. These findings confirm that public perception of Shariah compliance is the most dominant factor in increasing the intention to adopt Shariah banking. This study contributes to the literature on consumer behavior and Shariah banking marketing and offers insights for the Shariah banking industry to enhance Islamic financial literacy, strengthen trust, reduce skepticism, and improve public Perceived Shariah Compliance.

Abstract

This research aims to examine and formulate strategies for utilizing digital-based learning media amidst the limitations of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure at SMPN 1 Sodonghilir. In the era of educational digitalization, the use of technology has become a necessity, yet schools in rural areas are often constrained by limited physical devices and unstable internet networks. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, observation of the learning process, and documentation of school infrastructure. The results showed that SMPN 1 Sodonghilir implemented several adaptive strategies, including: (1) the utilization of offline-based learning media (such as pre-downloaded interactive digital modules), (2) optimizing the use of students' personal devices (Bring Your Own Device) with a periodic assignment system, (3) implementing flexible blended learning methods, and (4) utilizing digital devices in rotation. The main obstacles faced include limited digital devices, teachers' lack of proficiency in using digital media, poor internet network quality, and electricity availability. These strategies have proven effective in maintaining the continuity of digital-based learning and increasing student engagement in the classroom despite the limitations. This study concludes that teacher creativity and flexibility in school management strategies are key factors in the success of educational digitalization in areas with infrastructure limitations.

Abstract

Educational transformation in the Merdeka Curriculum era demands a holistic approach to learning, one of which is through the fusion of Natural and Social Sciences into IPAS. However, high cognitive demands often clash with the reality of conventional teaching materials that are sterile from the students' sociocultural context. This article is a Research and Development (R&D) study that designs an ethnoscience-based IPAS E-Module for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 116 Allu, Maros Regency. By integrating Bugis-Makassar local wisdom such as the Mattojang tradition and Nennu-nennu culinary, this E-Module is intended as cognitive scaffolding to sharpen students' critical thinking skills according to Robert H. Ennis's indicators. The E-Module development follows the ADDIE model and projects the output of valid, practical, and effective interactive media in HTML5 format to facilitate the transition of students' reasoning from the concrete operational stage to the formal operational stage

Abstract

Ideal learning requires active student involvement and the use of models and media that optimally support understanding. However, in third-grade science lessons on traditional subjects, student understanding remains low due to a lack of interactive learning and the lack of engaging media. Consequently, many students fail to achieve the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). This study aims to improve student understanding through the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model, supported by the snakes and ladders game. This is a classroom action research study conducted in two cycles with 20 students as subjects. Each cycle included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed a significant increase in student understanding. In the first cycle, the majority of students were in the poor (11 students) and adequate (9 students) categories, with only two students achieving the good and excellent categories. In the second cycle, the number of students in the poor and adequate categories decreased to two each. Meanwhile, the number of students in the good category increased to nine students and the number in the excellent category to seven students. Thus, the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model, supported by the snakes and ladders game, is effective in improving student understanding.

Abstract

Passivity and unsatisfactory learning outcomes frequently occur in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) lessons involving abstract concepts, one of which is cultural heritage diversity. This pattern was observed among fifth-grade students at SDN Karangbesuki 1 Malang, where a baseline observation recorded a merely adequate activeness level, reaching only a 66% success rate, marked by low questioning initiative and weak task-completion discipline, despite students already showing strong collaboration and motor skills. This study aimed to improve student activeness and learning outcomes through the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) culminating in the “Buket Bhinneka” (Unity Bouquet) product, a decorative flower arrangement whose petals each carry images and information about Indonesian cultural diversity. The study employed a Classroom Action Research design following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted across two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages, involving 28 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through activeness observation sheets and achievement tests at the end of each cycle. Findings showed the class average rose from 63.89 in Cycle I to 82.18 in Cycle II, while classical mastery increased from 25% to 100% of students reaching the minimum passing score of 75. Individual activeness scores also rose from an average of 8.5 at baseline to 13.3 after the intervention, a 56.5% gain. It is concluded that the Buket Bhinneka product effectively bridged the abstract concept of cultural diversity with students’ motor and social experiences, fostering activeness and comprehension simultaneously.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations and interviews, fourth-grade students at SDN Karangbesuki 1 demonstrated low participation in classroom learning, tended to be passive, had difficulty maintaining focus during lessons, and experienced challenges in understanding the topic of the formulation of Pancasila. In addition, the learning process was predominantly teacher-centered, resulting in limited student engagement. This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes on the topic of the formulation of Pancasila through the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model integrated with Wordwall. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 28 fourth-grade students at SDN Karangbesuki 1. Data were collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The findings indicated a consistent improvement in students' learning outcomes across each cycle. During the pre-cycle stage, the average student score was 60.36, with a classical learning mastery percentage of 7.14%. After the implementation of the intervention in Cycle I, the average score increased to 90.36, while the classical learning mastery percentage reached 92.86%. Furthermore, in Cycle II, the average score improved to 96.43, and the classical learning mastery percentage reached 100%. These findings indicate that the implementation of the Wordwall-assisted STAD cooperative learning model effectively improved both students' learning outcomes and their engagement in Pancasila Education.
